Mika couldn't hold her excitement in. She was finally away from her house for a while, away from all the stress. And not only that, but she was about to be sorted, too!
Her name was called, and Mika stood up confidently, her head up straight and her hands by her sides. As she made her way up to the stool, she could feel everyones eyes in the back of her neck.
She sat on the stool, and waited for the hat to be placed on her head. She was loving the attention. All eyes were on her, which was how she always liked it.
The hat was placed on her head, and Mika smiled. She wasn't going to shut her eyes, only babys did that. Her soft brown locks fell perfectly on her shoulders, and Mika waited for the sorting hat to say it's words of wisdom.

"Your sister was a Slytherin, Hmm? And you want to go there? I'm sorry, but your loyalty to your friends places you in HUFFLEPUFF!"
OOCOut of Character:
While this choice may surprise you, I'd like you to remember the answers to the scenarios you gave, which greatly contradicted your personality questions. So I took the behaviour as a better indication of your character than the personality answers which, frankly, are often manipulated in order to predict house.

Ezra Shaffer walked into the huge Great Hall. His icy blue eyes scanned the hall, taking in the scene around him. He notice four long tables, all decorated in a different color. He looked at them, realizing they were the four different houses. Ezra had wanted to be prepared for Hogwarts so he read, Hogwarts: A History last week. He figured it was the best course of action since his family had no experience with the place that he was heading to. The line stopped in the center asile as a blonde lady stood up, introducing herself as the Headmistress. Ezra smirked at her as she had an outburst. She seemed interesting enough.

Now came the most exciting part of the night. The Sorting Hat sang out a song as Ezra's excitement intensived. The young boy waited patiently for his turn to go up to the sorting hat and be placed into a house. After many...many names, he heard Shaffer, Ezra. His heart swelled in his chest as he swaggered up to the stool, a cocky smile on his face. Okay Sorting Hat...pick my brain. he thought to the hat that was now being placed on his head.

"Without a doubt a SLYTHERIN!"

Willow looked around at the other first years around her and noticed that they were all doing the same thing: Looking around at the magnificent building around them and feeling the mixture of excitement and nervousness building up in their stomachs. Soon, they were ushered into the hall, walking down the aisle with many eyes looking curiously towards them. She wanted to hide her face but instead she smiled towards the curious eyes and kept on walking until they stopped towards the front steps of the stage where professors and staff members eyed them - as if they already knew what houses that they will be in.

"Autumn, Willow" A voice shouted on the stage.
Willow gulped and walked slowly up to the stool, picked up the Sorting hat eagerly before sitting down on the stool and placed it gently on her head.
"Well, I'm not so sure about this, but i'm pretty confident..just so you know" she thought.

"Might as well be a ... GRYFFINDOR!"

Chris stood a few people behind Willow, they were waiting in the great hall of hogwarts- yes, they were finally here- to be sorted. Oh come on already! he thought, starting to tap a bit. He took the opportunity to look around the hall, liking the brightly coloured hangings but wishing he could concentrate on what they said. That was his biggest secret, the dyslexia that he'd struggled with for his whole life. And now, at Hogwarts, it would be even harder with the new words and names of spells. Lucky Willow, she's right at the start and I have to wait for the end. Chris watched his best friend moving up to the hat, and being sorted. She made Gryffindor, leaving Chris to wonder where he'd have to go. Probably Gryffindor like her. he mused, deciding that that was by far the best, and funnest, house for someone like him.

"Wright, Christopher." the person called, leaving Chris to mutter "It's not Christopher, it's Chris" to the nearest professor, shake his head irritably and move up to the little stool. As the hat covered his eyes, Chris wondered if the hat could hear what he thought. If it could talk, it must be smart enough. Well, um. Please put me in Gryffindor, with Willow. I'll.. try and be good, I won't break anything.. much. Look, please? All that was left to do was cross his fingers and hope for the best.

"No reason to plead, boy. You are a GRYFFINDOR!"

Loretta smiled brightly as she walked into the Great Hall. 'Smiles hide everything', or so her mother had told her. She waited until her name was called. "Bell, Loretta." It seemed to her that a lot of people had the surname 'Bell', but it might just have been the fact that her sisters were in her year. She walked up to the sorting hat and allowed it to be placed on her head. Gryffindor? I love adventure. Loretta suggested to the hat, not that it mattered if the hat listened to her. Loretta felt a little nervous about an enchanted piece of fabric rifling around in her thoughts.

"Might as well be another for GRYFFINDOR!"

This was it. This was it! Hwarang hopped on the spot excitedly, tilting his head from side to side in quick jerking motions that threatened to snap his neck. His eyes glimmered excitedly, the shining irises reflecting the massive hallway he stood within. He clapped his hands together and made a wordless exclamation as the sorting begun. He held his tongue, keeping it in check as the first few were sorted, but after the first dozen were sorted he gave a booming shout of "HURRY UP!!"

The outburst caused several of the staff in the room to stare at him, with the intense hawk-eyed stare threatening death and destruction which all educational staff seemed capable of producing. Hwarang bobbed his head apologetically as his face turned beetroot, and contended himself with hopping on the spot until his turn came.

Come on! Come on!

"Wright, Christoper!"

Hurry up already!

"Bell, Loretta!"

Come on...

"Choi, Hwarang!" When his name was finally called, Hwarang bolted forward like a restrained hunting dog being let off the leash to go after the fox. Literally dashing up towards the hat, he snatched the thing away with such eagerness he had to take a few seconds to recompose himself before he jammed it back on and was pitched into complete darkness, for the hat was a little too large for his head.

"I see you desire Gryffindor? Hmmm. Well, you do possess some traits, but you will be much better off in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Cierra walked along the hall of hogwarts along with the other freshmen. as she looked around her, she felt a smile forming on her lips. thinking about the possible things that she will encounter on her stay in hogwarts, she didn't heard her name being called. "Vehlendorf, Cierra!", the man on the front called out again louder than the first time. Cierra then realized that it was already her turn to be sorted. feeling comfortable and giddy, she walked towards the front while humming a song. She sat down on the three-legged tool without removing the smile on her face as the sorting hat was lowered on her head. "Good day Mr. Sorting hat, i trust that you will make rightful decisions, my future here lies in you..." Cierra said as she waited for the sorting hat to announce her house placement.

"Might as well be... RAVENCLAW!"

Ciel entered the great hall together with his fellow freshmen. looking around and scanning the crowd, he serenely walked and listened as the man in the front announces the name of the student that will be sorted. some of the freshmen tried to talk to him, he replied with a monotonous and simple answer. while waiting for his turn, Ciel examined the great hall's interior thinking how great it is to be able to perform magic. then, he heard his name being called.

"Michaelis, Ciel" the announcer said.

Ciel walk calmly to the front, seeing the announcer smile at him, he smiled back. Before the sorting hat dropped in his head, he gave the crowd a last scrutinizing look.

"You're a smart one... hmmm. Ravenclaw, perhaps? Loyalty is big for you, isn't it? Well then find your home in HUFFLEPUFF!"

It was quite possibly the most exciting day of her whole entire life, and Mia Duerr was completely exhausted. Last night, she had been too excited to sleep, and had stayed up late doodling and flipping through her new school books. She had been awaiting this day for as long as she could remember- for the first time in her life, she could simply just be Mia. Not Hannah's little sister or Lina's big sister, for Hannah went to another school and Lina wouldn't start for a few more years. Oh, the woes of being the middle child.

Like many of the other children, she eagerly looked around the hall when she entered it. The size of it reminded her of just how small she was and how much she had to learn. Unlike some of the other children, she quickly lost interest in the sights around her- being raised in a wizarding household meant that she was familiar with quite a few of the magical elements around her. By the time the sorting began, she was already off in her own little world.

Hm, the boy in front of me is wearing a green shirt. Green is such a lovely color, the color of grass and flower stems and mold. Wait, wait, wait, mold isn't that pretty of a thing. I noticed some growing on the bread before I left. I do hope Daddy realizes it is there before giving it to Lina. Lina isn't going to know what to do without me being there...

And so on and so forth. The first time her name was called, she missed in. The snickers from her fellow students brought her back to earth just in time for her to hear it when it was called the second time. Without so much of a trace of a blush on her face, she calmly walked to the stool with the hat on it. And, just to make the situation even better, she fell over a step getting to the hat. Still, the young girl didn't seem to be embarrassed.

As the hat fell over her eyes, she began her line of daydreaming again. I do hope that this hat has not been on anyone that has lice. Lice are such dreadful creatures, all wiggly and making people's heads itch. There was that one time at day care when..

"I'm going to ignore your remarks and just place you in RAVENCLAW!"

Persephone was not as nervous as she figured she would be. She had spent the whole train ride panicking about Hogwarts and being expected to stay at such a place, relying on herself at such a young age to survive. What were the schools playing at? She was only eleven! She wasn't old enough to balance everything out in her life like school, social life, extracurriculars, keeping her living space tidy, sticking to a schedule, managing her finances all at such an age! Especially not without Pandora around to help her out and vise versa. Being a twin Persephone never imagined this would happen to her. Where she had been going to school the grade cutoff birthday had been October first. So it came as a shock to the both of them when they found out they were going to be separated. They had celebrated their 11th birthdays the day before and just hours ago she had been locked in a bone crushing hug from her doppelganger and now felt lonely. She could manage but making new friends her never been her strong suit.

As the names were called one by one Persephone was in an odd state of calm. Not really talking to anyone, keeping her eyes on all of the new features of what was now apparently her home. So this is where I eat? Wow... Definitely different from the dining room. she thought fondly of their little 'eatery' With it's lime green walls and small round wooden table with the wobbly leg. Filled to the brim with knick knacks that all three in the house collected. But she was soon brought out of this thought as she heard "Fox, Persephone!" yelled out across the sea of people. She let out a small yelp as she quickly skittered up to the front and jammed the hat upon her head, quickly going blind to the world. Well... I don't exactly know how this works or what the houses really are... Man this reminds me so much of the last short story we read in English before the summer break... Had forgotten it'd be my last... I wonder what Pandoras doing. Need to write her as soon as I can. Bah, Sorry Hat. Don't mean to distract you with my idle thoughts. I'll just leave you to it now. she thought before trying to clear her head. This was it.

"Thoughts don't 'distract' me. Now, which house is best for you? I could see you in several places. Might as well be GRYFFINDOR then!"

Brielle felt oddly empty as she walked into the Great Hall. It was very unusual for Brielle to be without one of her many instruments, or her iPod. She hadn't bought her iPod to New Zealand with her, which made her nervous. Without music, Brielle felt alone. She waited for her name to be called. "Bell, Gabrielle." Brielle hated her name. Nobody could be bothered saying it and Brielle was always called 'Gabby'. She absolutely despised being called Gabby. It was an annoying name. Brielle walked up to the sorting hat in annoyance. "My name is Brielle, not Gabrielle." she hissed. Brielle did not want to be here. She hated the cold weather. She wanted to be back home in the heat. "Put me in Gryffindor, or else." Brielle ordered the hat. It sounded a little like she was threatening the little piece of fabric that was sitting on her head.

"Excuse me? No problem - SLYTHERIN!"

Lucas glanced around the great hall, awe struck, as he followed the other students towards the sorting hat. He wasn't often one to be nervous, but he'd never been in such a huge hall with so many students. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of his step-sister (sat at the Gryffindor table), and his nerves subsided.

He was a Copperfield, so his name was quite close to the begining of the list, but not first. That's how he liked it: not last, but not first either. That way, he knew what to do, and had less time to be nervous about it.

Soon, he heard, "Copperfield, Lucas." Gulping away the last of his fear, he sat on the stool, and the sorting hat was placed on his head. And slipped over his head. That, he thought, was slightly embarassing.

In the blackness of the hat, he thought about how he'd like to be in Gryffindor with his step-sister.

Then, Lucas felt the hat move. He held his breath as he waited for the hat to sort him...

"o0o0o I slip over most eleven year olds' eyes. It shouldn't be embarrassing for you. You want Gryffindor, hmm? Unfortunately, that's not where you belong. Bravery and adventure are two things I don't see much of, or much longing for, here. How about... RAVENCLAW!"

Mitchelle wasn't nervous at all. She has her aunt and uncles graduated from Hogwarts. She tapped her right foot impatiently waiting until her name was called. The great hall was very noisy with murmurs and giggles. Someone was singing, she looked around and saw that it was a new student, too. Because of that she felt nervousness visited her. "Doesburg,Michaela Mitchelle" her name was called and her heart beat very hard. She marched toward the stool with eyes looking only at her. She felt the hat was put on her head and thought,a dirty hat.She talked to the hat first. She knew that the hat will talk but didn't really expect to. " hey, you're tired aren't you?" she said and continued " okay, let's get this over" she said and took a deep breath as the hat decided her fate ..

"I am not dirty. If I am, I am only as dirty as your head. So think on that. No, I'm not tired. Presumptuous, aren't you? Now which house would a presumptuous little girl like yourself belong in? None, honestly. Alright. Which will you learn the most in? Hmm... I suppose its RAVENCLAW!"

Scarlett walked through the entrance to the Great Hall with the rest of the unsorted first years. She looked around amazed at the breathtakingly beautiful room. She saw the 4 long tables where the older students sat and watched the nervous first years and the 1 long table that faced the rest of the hall where all the teachers sat. The new arrivals around her were shaking with nerves but Scarlett was at ease. She wasn't one to get nervous. It was one of the things she prided herself with, being brave. "What do i have to be nervous for?" she wondered. However there was a nagging thought in her mind "What if they made a mistake sending me a letter?" She shook her head as if to shake the thought out and smiled at everyone around her. The wizard who had brought them in walked to the front and placed a small stool on the ground. He went over what they were to do when he call their names and then read each name on the list. Finall he called "Thompson, Scarlett" and Scarlett's breath hitched a little but she took a deep breath and smiled her award winning smile. She held her head high as she walked up to the stool. Her heart only skipped a few beats as the hat was planced on her head and fell over her eyes. She prayed that she would not be put into Slytherin, too much hate in that house. "Let's get this over with." she thought to herself.

"Slytherin? No, not you. However, I'm not sure you'll be pleased with the house you do belong most to. You may be brave, but you're much more of other things - so I place you a HUFFLEPUFF!"

Bridgette felt extremely nervous. She hated being in crowds. Bridgette wondered if she had made the correct decision in moving to New Zealand. She stood amongst the other students, her chestnut hair hiding her face. The young girl was frightened of the hat. She had no idea if it read minds, or what it did. It was rather terrifying, not knowing. Bridgette waited quietly for her name to be called. She stood silent, as still as a statue. She looked like a statue too; her already pale face drained of colour. Bridgette knew that she was working herself up about nothing, but she couldn't help it. She had always overreacted about everything since she was small. "Duquette, Bridgette." After what seemed like an eternity, her name was called. Bridgette walked up slowly to the sorting hat. She kept her head down and her eyes on the floor. Don't look at me, don't look at me The phrase repeated in Bridgette's mind as she walked. Bridgette sat down. "Please hurry. I hate people starting." She was painfully aware of the hundreds of eyes that were focused on her.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

It was an exciting day for Amy. She wasn't nervous... Much. Amy was going to miss her family, but she was happy to be at Hogwarts. Amy grinned. She was the only witch in her family, which was a good thing in her eyes. Amy waited for her name to be called. "Bell, Amy." Amy found it amusing that her surname had been called out before her first name. Amy liked her surname. It could have been a first name as well, so it was quite a nice name. She was glad that she hadn't been stuck with some random hard-to-pronounce surname. Bell was simple enough. Amy walked up to the Sorting Hat and waited for the hat to be placed on her head. Ohmigosh, this is so exciting!!!!! Amy thought, trying extremely hard not to squeal at the top of her lungs. She was so excited about being sorted!!!

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Ella was in a thoughtful mood. For once, she had no feathers or glitter in her hair and her face was bare of make-up and masks. Strangely, the lack of make-up made Ella look less normal. She looked like a stranger, not the Ella that most people knew. That suited her fine. People wound't recognise her. Her huge purple eyes stared at the other students, her face was blank. She gazed at the other people in fascination. She wondered if anyone in this room would become her friend. She wondered if she would have enemies. Ella found people entertaining. They had so many emotions and it was fun to watch people feel them.

Ella waited patiently for her name to be called. She watched the people before her being sorted. She began to attempt guessing which house students would be sorted into. By the expressions and body language of the person, Ella determined what house fitted them. "Frost, Ella." Ella walked up to the Sorting Hat and awaited its decision. She wasn't nervous. She was extremely calm. She waited.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Dean stood at the front of the crowd with his friends in the great hall of Hogwarts. It was time for sorting and this day had been the main subject of his thoughts for he past few days now. He hoped he wasnt in a house full of mud bloods. He would just have to show them who is boss if he is. He wanted his name to be called out soon so that he could get away from all the other filthy people that seemed to be around him. Dean wasnt a big people person although he was quite popular back where he came from. He liked to know the blood status of the people he socialised with.

Names started to be called and Dean watched each person walk up and get sorted. He folded his arms over his chest and huffed in frustration. The professor calling the names needed to hurry up call his quickly. Just then he heard his name being called. Dean took a deep breath and confidently took a step forward and walked forward. He didnt wan to look nervous in front of all these people. How would that make him look?

As he sat down on the stool the old sorting hat was placed on his head. It didnt fit well but then again he didnt expect it too. He just wanted the dirty thing off him as soon as possible. He hated wearing things that other people had. He waited impatiently for his new house to be called out to him

"Do you even hate wearing things that other people had if that thing is better than everything you'll ever have? Yes, I think highly of myself too. Now, you're no enigma to me. SLYTHERIN!"

When Vayne entered the doors to the great hall, he can't help but to be truly amazed by the castle's interiors. caressing his cat sulpher in his hands, vayne walked calmly along with his fellow freshmen. The sorting began shortly. while the announcer calls the students' names, vayne scanned his surroundings looking for familiar faces. however, he did not see anyone that he knew. He turned his gaze at the front where in the students get to have a weird talking hat in their head to announce which house they would belong in. soon after, it was his turn.

"umm... excuse me... can you please hold my cat for a moment?" he said to the first year girl that is behind him. he then walked calmly to the hat.

"good day to you mr. sorting hat!" he said,

"GRYFFINDOR!"
OOCOut of Character:
Part of your post was removed as you were instructed not to roleplay the sorting hat at all. :)

Sara stood in line nervously. A,b,c,d...........the list was endless l,m....ma,me,....Oh god, Sara was sweating, shifting nervously from foot to foot. "Moon Sara" a voice called. "Why is no one going" Sara thought. "Oh, wait that's me" she said aloud, while laughter resounded through the hall. Sara could feel the blood rising to her cheeks. She walked to the top of the great hall, her eyes on the ground. "hurry along dear." the voice said, it seemed distant. She ran the last few steps, knockedover the stool and then preceded to apologise profusely. Eventually, she managed to compose herself and sat on the stool. The hat was placed over her head and her mind went blank. She didn't ask for the house she wanted, in fact the only thought she had was "hmmm, pretty wam for an old hat!"

"RAVENCLAW!"

Enid was shivering with excitement. She looked around at the other students who seemed as excited. For them, it was probably the newness of the school that was making them nervous but for her, it was also the newness of having so many other people around her. Rather than watching her fellow classmates walk up to the hat, she studied the older students, feeling intimidated and self-conscious.
Before she knew it, the professor had arrived at the E's, causing Enid heart to beat faster and faster.
"Enid Embry"
Although she was aware that her name had been called out, she stood stock still for a few moments. Then, with a gentle nudge from someone, she scurried forward hoping that she wouldn't trip. She believed that everyone's eye was her and her pale skin grew flushed. She quickly scrambled onto the stool and caught a last glimpse of the Great Hall before the hat obscured her vision. Staring into the darkness, she realized that she hadn't thought about which House she wanted to be in. Hoping the Hat knew what it was doing, she gripped the sides of the stool, waiting for the verdict.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Dimitri walked through the corridors of the castle, behind the rest of the first years, hardly being able to wait and see what would become of him. He wanted to be placed in Hufflepuff so that he would be in the same house that Takuya had been in, or as he would have to soon call him; Professor Blaze. That would certainly be a change, and something that would be hard for him to become accustomed to. His older brother, in a position of power somewhere, even if it was only slight power. He wondered if his brother would ever be a Head of House. He shrugged, and waited for his name to be called.

"Blaze, Dimitri."

Luckily, he didn't have to wait very long, and he knew that his destiny at this school would be decided nice and quickly with somebody as smart as the Sorting Hat looking after him. He smiled, and placed the aged hat on his head, waiting to see what would become of him here, and hoping that he would get what he wanted, slowly he sat there and waited.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Margot donned her robes and joined the rest of the First Years as they were about to get sorted. She usually wasn't a nervous person, but today she was. This hat was about to determine her fate and she hoped it would put her where she belonged. Neither of her parents or siblings attended Hogwarts, they all went to Durmstrang. Her parents felt she might like Hogwarts better than the school they attended. Margot began to get lost in her thoughts, like she always did when her name was called. "Morkov, Margot," said the Headmistress. The eleven year old walked up to the stool, sat down, and waited for the Sorting Hat to decide her fate.

"Another one for RAVENCLAW!"

Sierra waited for her name to be called. Feeling extremely annoyed and upset, Sierra bit her lip and looked to the floor. She really didn't want to be here. She missed her old school and her friends. She hated this new uniform too. The robes were insane, what was the point of them? As Sierra was muggle-born, she had no idea what she was doing here. The letter had explained nothing to her. She wondered if it was a practical joke. It was the kind of thing that her friend Rachel would pull. "Cole, Sierra." Sierra was almost glad that her name was close to the start. This would be over and done with in about a minute. She sat on the stool and the hat was placed on her head. "Hurry up you stupid piece of fabric. I don't want to be here!" she hissed, a hint of fear in her voice. What if this was a joke and everyone was in on it? What if everyone started laughing at her? Sierra crossed her fingers, silently hoping that it wasn't a joke.

"Stupid piece of fabric? Perhaps you've reason to fear if that's the case. Letting a 'stupid piece of fabric' decide your fate. Sees kind of idiotic on your part. Are you sure you even want to attend Hogwarts? Hmm? That's right. Now, Slytherin doesn't mean 'rude' but in your case: SLYTHERIN!"

'Denton, Shiloh!' Shiloh heard, and cursing herself for her last name beginning with 'D', so therefore her being one of the first to be sorted, she began heading up to the sorting hat slowly, not willing to show her nervousness. She held her head high, her blonde hair loose down her back. She hoped to be a Gryffindor and she was going to show the others that just because she was muggle-born didn't mean that she wasn't worthy to be here at Hogwarts.

The main reason that she wanted to be sorted into Gryffindor was because she had heard that they were the best house, and the rivals against Slytherin. From what she had read about Gryffindor, was that they were brave, courageous and stuck up for others, and that they accepted anyone, while Slytherin was the most prejudiced house and hated muggle-borns. So just because she was muggle-born she already had a few enemies. That was probably why some of the girls on the train had stuck up their noses and ignored her when she had admitted that she was muggle-born. She supposed that was better than them being outright cruel to her at least.

As she placed the sorting hat on her head, the hat covering her view of everyone staring at her, a fact which she was relieved by, she thought to it, Please Mr. Hat, place me in Gryffindor as I feel it is the house that I'd belong in the most, and I'd really appreciate it if you put me there.

"As you wish. GRYFFINDOR!"
