Leda was glad that Slytherin's game against Ravenclaw had ended with the snakes victorious. They had proven themselves time and time again, and as much as other houses tried to play catch up, Slytherin were on a winning streak that Leda hoped would continue to at least the end of the year. The Seeker couldn't believe that she and Liam had already been captains for over a year, and she wanted to make sure they were all equipped with the challenges they would no doubt face after they'd graduated. Today the weather outside was miserable. Strong winds were causing the rain to come down almost horizontally, and the Head Girl knew it wasn't going to make for pleasant practise conditions, everyone's role made slightly harder.

After her chat with Minnie after the last game, Leda wanted to speak to those on the team as individuals, and hoped she'd get the chance to before the year was out. As they began to get ready in the safety of the stands, Leda was pulling on her gloves as she turned to face the others, a sea of emerald green shining back at her. "This ones going to be tough." she began, fasting the buckle on her forearm, "Practise on your techniques rather than your scores. We all know that everyone here is more than capable of getting a goal, defending and knocking each other out. Sometimes it's about being able to do those things in uncommon situations though, or keeping calm when things feel like they're against you," she cast her eyes to Liam and Sapphire who Leda was still convinced would have managed to save her from being hit with a bludger if they hadn't been distracted by one another. "Focus on your passing, keep an eye on where everyone else is. Beaters make sure you're not just hitting the bludger but doing it in a way that you're not losing all your strength early on. Another game like the last and we will need to be able to stay consistent." It had taken a while for her to catch the snitch before Simon or Minnie and it could never be predicted how long a game would take. "Mordred, cover the North hoops and stay alert." she said, before walking a little close to her future replacement, handing him one last thing that would be especially important for Seekers if they wanted to make it in the rain. "And don't forget your goggles."

Sapphire was both hyped up and more nervous than usual for today's practice. She was afraid of thunder and no one knew but Mervyn. He wouldnt have told Leda, so Sapphire had brought along some ear plugs to try and help. She was not going to show a weakness like that to the entire team. She had her hair pulled back into a bun, listening intently to Leda speak.

Blake was itching to get out on the Quidditch pitch and practice. He had been so close to getting a chance to play in the last match, and he was ready to take to the air and really prove himself. Broom in hand, Blake joined the rest of the team on the pitch, unable to stand still with anticipation. He didn't even mind the weather, the cold reminding him with a pang of the hockey rink. Where he had been king. He only half listened to Leda's speech, eager to just get up there and do what he did best.

Jasper was excited about the practice, though the weather dampened his spirits a little bit. He listened to Leda as she told them what to do, then got started. He put his goggles on and eyed Mordred, wondering if he could get a quaffle past him today. He really hoped Leda would beat Blake in this practice, as every practice really turned into a competition between the two of them to get the snitch first.

Mordred Cavanaugh was often considered weird because he enjoyed the rain. He was not sure if that was a trait that he inherited from his mother, but a part of him knew that it was. He could never be sure though. Not until he finally had enough gall to do it. Mordred stood next to Jasper with his goggles on. He was going to be on his A-game today. He felt like the day was on his side today. Mordred flew to the North hoops, eager to prove that he was a valuable player to the team.

“Let’s go!” Leda called out, heading into the rain. She mounted her broom and lifted off into the air, hoping she wasn’t going to get hit by bludgers too much. Her back was still slightly sore from the last game.

Blake kicked off right away when Leda called a start to practice, shooting into the sky and beginning to look around for the snitch, groaning as he realised how much harder this would be in the rain.

Sapphire jumped into the air with others, struggling to see what was going on.

Once practice started properly, Jasper adjusted his goggles before taking to the air. He grabbed the Quaffle and cheered for himself, glad he had gotten it first. Then he started to make his way to the hoops Mordred was guarding.

The mixture of wind and rain on her face made the practise much harder than even some of the games were. It was hard to keep her eyes open when she was struggling just to stay on her broom too, and knew they would have to call the practise off early if things got too dangerous.

Sapphire adjusted herself to the wind, shooting towards Blake and getting between him and the bludger. She swung, hitting it successfully away from the younger boy.

Leda saw up ahead Sapphire managed to defend Blake, and she would have given her a thumbs up had she thought Sapphire would actually even had a chance to see it. Instead she kept her focus and hoped Blake would be able to catch the snitch too.

Scanning for the snitch, Blake was too focused on his target to pay attention to anything going on around him, ducking low and flying on to try and find sheltered areas to look around in.

Jasper flew up to the hoops and threw the quaffle at the right hoop. To his disappointment, Mordred managed to block it. He sighed, then flew off again.

Sapphire struggled to see through the downpour, shivering a little.

The only person doing well at the moment was Mordred, who managed to block Jaspers shot. As she'd said though, Leda wasn't worried about points this practise.

Sapphire was quick to shoot next to Jasper, getting between him and the oncoming bludger. She knocked it away, turning to give him a smile before shooting off again.

Liam entered the pitch and listened to Leda as she spoke. Liam had been having a terrible game, but was glad that they won. He could use the practice to be honest and thought of his frustration at the game against Ravenclaw when Leda started about keeping things calm. He smiled and let her do the talking this time since she was good at it. Liam than jumped on his broom and took his beaters bat with him. Searching for bludgers to hit. He wanted to hit but had to defend as well.

Leda kept flying round the pitch, trying to even find the snitch in this weather.

Jai had arrived to practice a little late than usual. Neither of the captains had instructed him to play keeper this time so he had assumed that he would be playing chaser for today's practice. The thirteen-year-old flew up and followed his fellow chasers around the pitch, ready to provide support whenever he could. The rain was bothersome, but nothing he couldn't handle. Jai wasted no time in grabbing the quaffle when it was put back into play and went around the pitch, hoping that he could practice his passes in this game.

Daintree liked practices, he didn't tend to play on the team, but here he could practice. he was moving around the pitch trying his best to hit the bludgers in the right direction. He wasn't enjoying the rain, but it would be fine, he'd played other sports in these conditions.

Derek didn't like playing when it rained, but he knew he had to as part of the team. he cast a few water repellent spells on his clothes and face and was hoping that would help him. He flew along one of the younger chasers and hoped to help the boy if necessary.

The storm was brutal, but Sapphire was determined.

Even through his gloves, Blake's hands felt frozen to his broom as he flew on, looking around for any sign of the golden ball.

Mordred was able to block Jasper's shot and he threw the quaffle back into play. It was hard to stay still with how terrible this storm was.
