Slytherin Quidditch Practice

Derek was following the young new chaser as they pressed towards the goals again. The teen was pushing forward, close enough to hopefully keep the boy on guard but not try to take it from him by too much violence. Derek was surprised when all of a sudden something hit him relatively hard on the back. He slowed his flying fraction as he adjusted to the pain. He looked around to the captain who'd been the one to hit him with the bludger, giving a little thumbs up to quickly indicate he was all okay. He pushed forward again to fly next to the other chaser and have a good chance of taking the ball from him or to be able have the ball be passed to him.

Jasper was focusing hard on where he was flying and holding onto the quaffle for dear life. So the bludger came out of nowhere for him. It hit quite hard, and Jasper yelped and lost control of his broom for a second. Miraculously, he held onto the quaffle, though barely. Tears stung in his eyes at the sudden pain, but he couldn't let Blake or the captain see that. So he stubbornly went on, not wanting to give up his quaffle. Though he regretted that once he came to face Mordred, and threw the quaffle quite badly. He fumbled as he threw, and it was a very easy catch for the keeper. Jasper flushed, now even more humiliated. He flew off, annoyed at himself for messing this up. He should have just passed to someone else, that would have at least looked better.

Sapphire caught up with the other bludger quickly. Her frustration was fueling her today. She whacked it, relieved when it hit the captain. She waved to Odette, hoping the girl was okay, before taking off again. She was relishing every swing of the bat and couldn't wait to get another hit in.

The pitch was alive with bludgers flying everywhere, and Blake wanted in on the action, flying closer to the middle of the pitch as he kept looking around for the snitch.

Mordred hovered in front of the center hoop, which was his favorite. He watched attentively as everyone played. Jasper threw the ball but fumbled it. Mordred easily caught it and threw it back into play. The chasers weren't doing so good.

Sapphire was really on a roll today. She caught up with her target quickly and smacked it again at one of the other younger years, this time the boy seeker. She winced as it hit him. Not wanting to dwell on it, she turned her broom and decided to take a few laps to improve her speed before she'd try again.

Derek caught the ball as it was thrown back out and started racing towards the hoops. He felt a little lingering pain from where the bludger had hit but it wasn't all that bad. He was able to fly with ease, a smile evident on his face as he just enjoyed the practice. he would be able to try to score again and hoped for better results.

Odette was caught by surprise by the bludger that Sapphire had hit at her. It knocked the breath out of her for a moment, but then she nodded at the younger girl encouragingly. It wasn't fun to be hit by a bludger, but she was glad Sapphire was doing well. The girl even hit another bludger at the younger seeker not long after. She was on a roll today. Odette flew after that bludger and tried to hit it at one of the chasers, but it went off course and hit the keeper instead. While it was good that the beaters were getting some practice, Odette did feel a bit worried about her players. If the practice kept going like this, she would have to call it off early.

Although he had wanted to get more into the thick of the action, Blake was so distracted by his search for the snitch that he didn't notice the bludger heading his way at all. He cried out in surprise as the ball smacked into his shoulder. The danger definitely reminded him of hockey, but bludger pain was unlike any Blake had felt before. Grumbling, he flew higher, seeking for the snitch further above the pitch to hopefully avoid future strikes for a while. He didn't want to seem like a wimp, but there'd be no glory if he wound up too injured to play.

Leda was aware that even though it was early in the game, her teammates were already been hit left right and centre. Trying not to let it affect her though she pressed on and looked out for the snitch. The last thing she needed was the younger boy catching it before she did.

Jasper wondered if there were always this many bludgers in games or practices. It seemed a lot rougher now that he was part of the team, and thus at risk of getting hit. Still, he couldn't help being a little happy when Blake got hit too. At least they were even on that account. He followed Derek, hoping that the older boy would fumble the quaffle so he could take it and try again to prove himself.

Derek pushed forward with the ball under his arm, he needed to push closer and closer to the hoops to be able to score, but he was also looking to the two chaser to whom he could pass the ball if necessary. He didn't want to, Derek wanted to score but he knew it would be good to work as a team with the other chasers.

Odette was surprised by how many people Sapphire was hitting. It was definitely good, though she was also a bit concerned about the team's well being. But the girl was definitely someone to watch out for, and Odette gave her a small smile as she passed her before chasing a bludger of her own to hit.

Sapphire was happy with her performance so far, and was getting really pumped up. She was coming up on a bludger doing laps, and figured one more hit couldn't hurt... Or at least, hurt her. She quickly selected a Target and hit the new girl. Sapph didn't think she'd been hit yet. Once the bludger connected she was off again. That was enough of that, she wanted to work on her manuevering now. She zipped away, trying to decide what would be the best way to practice.

@Luna Urquhart-Cade

Shoulder still aching slightly, Blake scanned the skies for the snitch, looking around eagerly for the golden ball. He was ready to show everyone what he was made of.

Luna didn't see the bludger coming so when it hit her it hit hard and hurt like hell. "Not cool!" She yelled at the beater who hit her. Luna understood that it was practice but she didn't see the benefit in injuring your own players.

Derek flew close enough to the hoops and threw the ball, frustrated when it flew directly to where the keeper was. He needed more practice, he needed to get better, perhaps it was the pain cause by the bludger that was making it more difficult for him to score. The slytherin flew back out and waited to see who would catch the ball.

Liam was motivated to get back on the field. Now with being prefect he got all the confidence there was and he wanted to hit some people with bludgers in the field at a game. The boy walked towards the pitch and smiled as he saw the team standing and to Odette their captain. It was her last year as a captain and he was gonna make the best out of this year. Liam always liked Odette, although it didn't seemed the other way around sometimes but still he was a part of the team so he did something good at least? He saw some familliar faces and new ones and some pretty girls also. He winked at Leda for a second his other prefect mate. He liked it. '' Hi Captain. Ready to win in your last year?'' He said with a grin to Odette and motivated for the training today. After Odette spoke Liam went sitting on his broom and kicked off into the air quickly. Together with Odette he was a beater and he took his beater bat and swung it a few times to loosen up his arm. It was strange to try and hit someone of your own team and he wasn't gonna take it too hard, but still they had to practice right? When Odette had send a bludger to another beater he frowned for a second. He flew around trying to find some bludgers but was a bit distracted at first. He could not find one yet, and he noticed Odette and Sapphire hitting eachother. Well he wasn't hit at least still. But he wanted to find a bludger no matter what, he was confident he could do it. But the fact that Sapphire did so fell wasn't that nice for him. He wanted to do better.

Mordred was having a hard time keeping up with everything going on. So much so that he was hit with a bludger. Mordred was knocked from his spot and almost lost control of his broom but he quickly got himself together and sent a glare Odette’s way. This was a practice but he did not enjoy getting hit with a bludger. He managed to catch the ball that Derek threw and throw it back into play with his good arm. He winced as pain shot up his back from the bludger that had hit him earlier

It was hard to ignore the clamor of the game below, part of Blake still wishing he could get into the action. Just as he was wondering whether he should get back down there, a glimmer of gold drove all distraction out of Blake's mind. This was his chance! He flattened himself to his broom and shot forward, one arm extended as he raced after the golden ball. It zigged and zagged and Blake thought he had lost it for a moment, but after a few harrowing seconds of pursuit, Blake shot skyward, his fist clenched firmly around the snitch. "I GOT IT!" He called out in celebration. That would show the captain what he was made of.

Liam saw a youger boy getting the snitch and put on his thumb to him. This was really quick! Liam was not hitting anything yet, but he continued the search. Ths had to happen, he had to hit something soon.

With bludgers flying left and right, Odette felt like it was time for her to be more a captain than a beater. As of now, Sapphire was doing enough hitting for the both of them. Odette flew up higher so she could survey her team, and that's how she noticed the young alternate seeker suddenly flying up. She grinned when she noticed he had the snitch, giving him a thumbs up. "Good job!" She called to him. It was surprising that he had gotten the snitch first.

Leda couldnt believe the new kid managed to get the snitch first. How was this fair? She glared at him when she thought he wasnt looking, but quickly got back into play, she needed to pick up her pace.

Blake felt on top of the world. He beamed at the captain's praise, saluting her as he released the snitch. "First of many!" He called back cheerfully, letting the snitch get a good head start before resuming his search. Being on the benches last year had been torture, and he was ready to show he deserved to be the star of this show.

Leda ignored the boy as his cknfidence grew, hoping that soon she would be able to prove she was still worth her position. Obviously it was just beginners luck, that or maybe he had cast a spell to grab it so fast. Paying attention to the snitch now, the Slytherin managed to dodge an incoming bludger in her path as she pressed forward.
