Slytherin Quidditch Practice

Odette didn't think a bit of rivalry between the two seekers was a bad thing, so she didn't discourage it. She flew around high in the air, watching the players carefully. She hoped the other chasers would become a bit more active soon.

So far, only he and Derek had attempted to score, and neither had succeeded. Jasper was quick, and grabbed the quaffle after Derek's attempt. He tucked it under his arm and started to fly his lap, hoping that this time it would turn out better for him.

There wasnt much else Leda could do but fly carefully after the snitch. She was faster now she had a new broom but she still needed to focus on the steering. At least this was just practise and the school wasnt actually watching her yet.

Mordred was able to throw the quaffle back into play after Derek tried to score. He felt that no one was scoring not because of his skills but because the chasers were warming up still. He saw Jasper catch the quaffle and begin to fly his lap.

As Odette watched the game, another bludger passed by. She flew after it, then hit it quickly in the direction of the nearest player. It veered off course, though, and hit Leda instead of the person Odette had been aiming at. She hadn't intended to add insult to injury of not being able to catch the snitch first, so gave the girl an apologetic look before flying on.

OOCOut of Character:

Your action (hit) was successful!
...but the bludger went off course, and you hit another player, instead!

This result was recorded and is what you should roleplay.

Third time I had this during this practice xD

@Leda Layton

Jasper still had a firm hold on the quaffle as he continued to fly half a lap around the pitch. He took the opportunity to look around at what was happening, and winced as yet another bludger hit another player. It really was a brutal practice, and Jasper wondered how much worse an actual game would be.

Liam flew along and managed to hit a bludger and wanted to hit Leda since she was a seeker and they mostly hitted seekers. But the bludger went of course and managed to hit Sapphire the other alternate beater. The boy smiled because he had hit one.

Blake was flying high after his success, grinning as he circled the pitch with his eyes peeled for any hints of gold. He just knew he was gonna catch the snitch again and prove to everyone once and for all that he was the real star of this show.

Sapphire had been focused on her flying and didn't notice the bludger until it knocked into her side. She spun out, cussing loudly. She quickly regained control, and with her vision spotty she tried to swing at the ball that had hit her, but it was already long gone. She took a second to breath before taking off after it. Liam hadn't been hit yet. She should fix that.

Practice had been brutal so far, bludgers were hitting people left right and center, including herself. Luna's arm still hurt and she winced as she manouvered her broom to try and tail one of the other chasers who had taken possession of the quaffle.

Between her and Liam, Sapphire had now been hit twice. She hoped the other beater understood not to aim at her anymore. She flew over to Sapphire, looking at her carefully as she flew next to her. "You okay? You can take a break if you need to." She said softly.

Jasper noticed the girl behind him and shot her an annoyed look. If she thought he would give the quaffle to her, she was mistaken. She'd had her chance to grab it after Derek had failed to score. Jasper tried to ignore her as he flew to the hoops. He threw, but again, didn't manage to score. He frowned, frustrated. Blake had managed to succeed, and he hadn't yet. It was not fair.

Sapphire swung as she caught up with the bludger, but miscalculated her swing and missed it entirely. She cussed under her breath as Odette came up next to her. She gave the older girl a strained smile. "I'm good, thanks. I've had worse." She took a second to see where the other bludger had gone.

Now that he'd had a taste of the glory he was after, Blake stayed focused on his task. He barely paid any attention to the scuffles going on around the pitch as he kept searching for a glimmer of gold.

Luna watched as the other chaser failed to score and waited for the quaffle to be thrown back into play. Once it was she took possession and took a few laps around the pitch in preparation for trying to score.

Sapphires determination to work through the pain was driving her to keep trying, but it was harder to hit. She cussed as she missed yet again and took a moment to breath before pressing on again. She'd made up her mind and she wasn't likely to be swayed from her course.

After staying high for a while Blake decided to fly low, since he wasn't having any luck in the skies. To his delight, within moments of dipping below the main action, Blake spotted a glimmer of gold by the goalposts. He gasped and flattened himself to his broom, streaking after the snitch. Blake flew so recklessly he slammed his elbow hard into the post of one of the hoops, but a moment later he was soaring up and up, snitch clutched in his hand once more. "GOT IT AGAIN!" He called out, waving the snitch towards their captain.

Liam hoped Sapphire was ok, he didn’t want to hurt a girl so he figured he would aim for another boy. He saw a bludger close and wanted to hit the keeper but instead it went of course and was going in the direction of Blake. Who just caught the snitch for the second time. It was impressive and Liam was wondering how Leda felt now. It was going better now, he had hit two bludgers and was on the way for more.

Odette watched with some concern as Sapphire flew off after insisting she was fine. But her attention was soon caught by Blake, who had caught the snitch again. She couldn't help a small laugh, amazed by his luck. She figured it was mostly luck, but made a mental note not to underestimate the kid. She sent a thumbs up his way, but didn't think he had noticed because Liam's bludger hit him not long after. She winced. "Sapphire and Blake are off limits now!" She shouted at her fellow beaters. She didn't want any of her players to end up in the hospital wing from the practice.

People hit by bludgers twice:
  • Blake Irons
  • Sapphire Michaels
If I missed any let me know

Blake had barely celebrated his catch when he felt another burning strike, the bludger seeming to come from nowhere. He cried out and released the snitch, gripping his broom tightly to make sure he didn't fall. Blake ached all over now and it was hard to focus, but hopefully he was showing the captain what he was made of. He frowned though, when she said he was off limits. Blake didn't want to have to be protected. "YOU CAN HIT ME, I'M NOT A WIMP!" He called out, broom wobbling slightly as he made his way away from the goalposts, ready to look for the snitch again.

Odette frowned at the younger boy when he challenged her, and she flew over to him with a stern look on her face. "If I say you're off limits, you're off limits. Argue, and you can go take a rest from the rest of the practice and watch. You did well so far, but it's my call to make what happens here." She said sternly. She wanted to be clear, but fair. He looked a little wobbly, and she nearly made him take a break anyway. But then decided to let him keep going for now, just while keeping an eye on him.

Blake had to resist the urge to frown when the captain approached him, shutting him down quickly. Blake wanted to argue that he felt fine, really, he didn't want a girl thinking he was too wimpy to play, but it was pretty clear that arguing would be the wrong choice in this case. So biting back his arguments, Blake gave a slightly sarcastic salute, responding, "Aye aye, captain!" before returning to his search for the snitch.

Whatever role Sapphire had been on before, the pain in her ribs had effectively broken her streak. Even though she missed again, she was far from given up. She hurried after the bludger again, determined to try and work through the pain.

Derek pushed forward, looking for an opportunity to take the ball from the chaser had it and then the second chaser who took the ball. He needed to prove himself and wouldn't be able to do that if the other chasers did better than him. But, of course, it was important to work as a team. He just wanted to show off too.

Odette rolled her eyes at Blake's remark. So far, he had played very well, so she didn't want to lecture him for long. She flew off and tried to hit another bludger, missing completely. It wasn't too big a deal, as many of her team members had already been hit. So far, the beaters were doing better than the chasers, and she hoped they would step up soon.
