Open S1 Ilvermorny Quidditch Practice

Cayleigh had managed to cut off the bludger AJ had been tailing, and AJ watched as she knocked it into poor Lucas. It was part of the game and all, but bludgers still hurt and AJ felt for the younger boy. Deciding to try his hand playing a little more defensively, AJ moved over, trying to tail Hope for a bit instead.

Lucas had just caught the quaffle when he felt the bludger connect with his ribs. He whimpered, nearly dropping the ball as he clutched at his side. That had hurt. He took a deep breath, shooting Einar a quick smile and hoping the other boy didn't get upset, before flying towards the hoops.

Gritting his teeth through the pain, and determined to prove he could play, he rushed the goals, aiming directly over the Keepers head. He grinned as it flew past the other boy, clutching at his aching ribs a moment before flying away again.

Dominic winced as Lucas took a pretty nasty blow. "You got this, Lucas!" he cheered and caught up next to the boy, in case he wanted to pass. But apparently the newbie was tougher then he expected and managed to make another goal. Dominic cheered and grabbed the quaffle as Adam tossed it back into the game.

AJ had decided the worst thing about bludgers was how fast they were. It made them hurt more when they hit you, and it also made them super annoying to catch up to. He scrunched up his face, gripping his bat tighter as he continued to try and connect with one.

Adam gawked at Hope as she just flew off and left him there. He was in pain. He was suffering, he needed some more sympathy than that. What was wrong with this team? He watched her fly away, and felt the whoosh of wind as the quaffle sailed over his head. "Are you kidding me." He spat. Merlin's beard, these people. Why was everyone but him so garbage? "My nose could be broken. What do you think you're doing?" He yelled, jabbing a finger at the new kid. "I'm sick of seeing your face, and I'm sick of your cheap shots. Buzz off." He was almost glad to see Dominic take possession again. "And who hit me!?" Someone had to own up before he took a bat and started hitting bludgers around himself.

Dominic laughed a little bit at Adam's whining, but quickly felt bad. He figured it at least meant their beaters were doing their job. Thankfully Adam had enough of his senses left to catch the quaffle as Dominic made another attempt.

Lucas' eyes widened when the Keeper started yelling at him. He darted behind Einar, peeking out from behind the other boy at the keeper. "Am I doing badly?" He asked Einar quietly, his voice cracking a little. He had wanted to join the team to stay with Einar if he had to leave the school, but between the aching of his ribs, the shots he'd missed, and his growing fear of the keeper, Lucas was doubting his decision to play.

There was no way AJ was going to own to up hitting Adam. He had such a bad attitude AJ almost wished the hit had been on purpose after Adam tore into Lucas. Keeping his head down, AJ knocked at one of the bludgers, sending it spinning off into nowhere in particular. At least if he looked less effective now, Adam wouldn't suspect him.

Dominic rolled his eyes at Adam. "Calm down, Everett. You're scaring the newbies." he called out and tried to give Lucas an encouraging look. "You can't be the star of a team that doesn't exist." he pointed out. "So cool it, or I can take you to the hospital wing right now?" Dominic suggested, and grabbed the quaffle to get the game moving again. Hopefully Einar or Lucas would be open to pass to. He didn't want them to get discouraged because Adam was loud.

Distracted by Dominic telling Adam to chill, AJ whiffed hard on a passing bludger. Still, it was nice to know at least their captains weren't cowed by Adam's cool guy persona, even if AJ totally was.

Flying along side a bludger, AJ took a swing at it, disappointed when the angle was bad and it spiraled off into an unoccupied section of the pitch. At least he had hit it though he tried to reassure himself.

Einar was pretty annoyed at Adam's attitude. He was growing increasingly annoyed because it was clearly upsetting Lucas and Einar really didn't like that. He shook his head, "He's just a sore loser," Einar told Lucas, "Ignore him," he told Lucas but Einar wasn't going to. He was flying in behind the chaser who did currently have the ball, and just hoped Lucas wouldn't be too disheartened, he was clearly a very good player.

Pausing to check where the other players were, AJ cursed as the bludger he'd been tailing got away from him, gripping his bat and chasing off again after it.

Dominic quickly made his way around the pitch and fake right before throwing the quaffle through the left one. Thankfully Adam seemed to be feeling well enough since he was able to block the shot.

Accepting Einars encouragement, Lucas caught the ball as it was thrown back into play, deciding to brave facing Adam to try again.

Frustrated with chasing quaffles, AJ decided to stay still for a moment, letting the bludger come to him. With a solid crack, his bat connected and AJ sent the bludger shooting off towards @Cayleigh Baros

As Lucas went to throw, a loud crack startled him, and he messed up his aim. He glanced over, realizing Aj was closer than he thought. Sighing, Lucas flew back towards Einar, rubbing his sore ribs a bit.

Adam shot Dominic a withering glare from behind his shades. Please. They needed him more than he needed them. The team was screwed without a keeper as talented as he was. There was no Ilvermorny team with Adam. Or so he told himself. He couldn't let Dominic get past him, and was more motivated to block the chasers shots, forgetting about his throbbing nose for the time being. He could tell the story of how he'd taken the hit like a boss, like it was no big thing. That would impress his friends. It's not like they would have believed anything the losers on the team would have said otherwise. He deftly blocked the next shot too, annoyed to see the new kid trying again. He made a show of spinning the quaffle before tossing it back into play.

Dominic shrugged off Adam's glare and shouted some more encouragements to the new players. He grabbed the quaffle again after Lucas's shot was blocked again.

Excited after his previous successful hit, AJ readied himself when the other bludger looped around nearby, taking a hard swing at it. He cursed when the bludger hit too low on his bat, nearly crushing his fingers before it shot away uselessly. AJ spent a moment shaking out his hand before resuming flying.

Adam kept an eye out for any other bludgers headed his way, since a few of the beaters were obviously confused and thought you had to score with them like quaffles. No one had still come forward, and he sat there seething quietly.

He hadn't said anything more, but AJ was starting to get paranoid that Adam knew he was the one who'd hit him. He hoped he could just pass it off as bludgers being bludgers, but the sensation lingered, even as AJ tried to catch up to another bludger.

Cayleigh winced as a bludger came rolling into her right arm, her hitting arm. Ugh, but that was the name of the game. Cayleigh was impressed with how Dominic handled the whole Adam situation.

Ragan was flying, and laughing a bit when the keeper had a meltdown. After a bit of flying, he went around and finally spotted the snitch. Ragan chased after it, before catching it with both hands. He slowed to a stop and raised it to show to his captains. "I got it!" He released it back into the air, and let it disappear.
