Open S1 Ilvermorny Quidditch Practice

Lucas was really nervous about today, hoping he would be able to do something worthwhile. When the ball was thrown back into play, he flew out and caught it, glancing quickly to Einar to see if he wanted it before starting to make his way back towards the hoops.

Hope was paying attention to herself not too much around. But she tried to see if bludgers were close. She was not that excited to get hit. Hope continued her flying and search for the snitch.

As one of the new kids caught the quaffle, Adam let himself relax again. If he kept hold of it, it was going to be too easy to block. If he managed to get it in the direction of a hoop in the first place. The keeper did have to wonder just how much he'd have to try move to cover any of his hoops.

AJ paused a moment to watch the chasers, wondering how Adam could be so nonchalant about the game like he did. He wanted to dislike him for it, but AJ couldn't lie and say he didn't wish he could be as effortlessly cool. Turning his mind back to the game, AJ kept looking for bludgers.

Lucas flew towards the hoops, watching the older boy. He seemed to be really strong, but Lucas knew he needed to try and get past him. He flew closer, switching the ball to his less dominant hand and making like he would throw, before darting the other way quickly, switching hands and throwing with all his might. He spun out a little, grabbing hold of his broom with a soft squeak. He looked up quickly, heart hammering in his chest, thrilled when he saw the ball sail through the hoop. He grinned widely, quickly glancing to Einar to see if he had seen.

Cayleigh watched over the chasers, and saw the new chaser throw the quaffle right passed Adam. Cayleigh whooped and shouted, "Great job, Lucas!" Cayleigh soared off to search for a bludger to hit.

Ragan flew in the opposite direction of the actual seeker, Hope. Maybe he would have more luck over here? Maybe.

AJ couldn't help but laugh, giving Lucas a quick round of applause as he managed to get past Adam before resuming trying to chase down the bludger he'd been after.

The shades may have been a bad idea. And the whole general not paying attention to the new guy. Adam almost hadn't seen him fly back, and sort of just watched him almost fall off his broom as he made his shot, laughing derisively all the while. Oh, man. These kids were bad. Everyone was just. so. bad. He lifted his shades to give the newbie a critical look. "Do you even know how to fly?" He asked, swooping down to scoop up the quaffle and toss it back into play.

Lucas caught the ball as it was thrown back into play. "Well enough to get past you," he replied quietly, flying back out to see if anyone wanted a shot before he tried again, ready to pass if he needed to.

AJ bit his tongue when Adam's attitude stayed in tact despite Casper managing to get a shot through. He wish he had the guts to say anything, but instead he busied himself with tailing his annoying bludger, sure that opening his mouth would make things worse. At least Adam was a good keeper despite the bad attitude.

Adam wasn't sure what the boy had said as he flew off. Probably an apology for being so bad, if he knew what was good for him. The keeper shoved his shades back on his face and hovered more upright between his hoops.

Lucas didn't want to admit he was intimidated by the older boy, but he was. He tried to score again, but it seemed his first shot had been sheer dumb luck. He sighed, retreating.

Hope noticed the other boy Ragan flewing close to her. Now she felt more pressure and tried to see if she spotted something. She thought she saw something gold left of her so flew to that side.

Adam smirked as he blocked the newbies shot. He tossed the quaffle from hand to hand before punting it back into play.

Spotting Hope potentially on the move, AJ took a swing at a bludger, hoping to send it her way. It went in her direction, but it was clunky and a bad angle and he had no doubt Hope could dodge it without even trying.

Lucas caught the ball again as it came back into play, looking around to see if there was anyone he could pass it to.

Adam adjusted his shades and dipped between the three hoops, going back to half paying attention to what everyone else was doing until they were back within range.

Hope looked around her to see if anything came in her way. Searching for the snitch with in your head the feeling you could get hit by a bludger was not that nice. But she tried to shake that away. She heard the zooming noice but thankfully it went pass her. But she was alert. Now the search could continue again.

If there was something Adam had to be thankful for this practice, it was that Cayleigh finally seemed to understand that targeting the keeper with a bludger was a ridiculous move. A bludger free practice was nice, and he had to hope it stayed that way. Knowing his team, it was hard to say. After all, he was the only one who really seemed to know how to play.

AJ was unsurprised to see the bludger he shot at Hope go wide. Giving himself a little encouraging shake, he turned his broom, looking to see if he could spot the other one streaking across the pitch.

A little distressed that no one seemed to want the ball, Lucas decided to try again. His nerves got the better of him, though, and it fell short. He blushed, embarrassed.

Trying to shake off his nerves, he caught the quaffle as it was thrown back into play, willing to pass it to anyone that wanted it.

Lining up on a bludger, AJ took a swing, pleased with a solid hit and sending it off towards Hope. It always felt mean to target the seeker, but he knew it was important for him to practice hitting that type of player in theory, and probably good if Hope got better at ducking. He winced though when the bludger swerved, regaining its own control part way through and careening into Ragan instead. @Ragan Romanes

When no one seemed to want the ball, Lucas tried again, cringing as he missed for the third time. He felt discouraged, wondering if this whole thing had been a mistake. He flew back out, away from the others, needing a bit away to clear his head.
