Leda had been sat at the Slytherin table when the deliveries were taking place, although there had been one in particular she was nervous for. She’d wanted to enclose something else with her rose when she sent it, but they hadn’t been given little envelopes with their notes, so she had no choice but to give Minnie the gift in person. When Olive had found out Leda had joined the team five years ago, her sister had given her the tiny snitch necklace that Leda now wore during her games. While it would have sentimental value to her as something from Olive, it wasn’t the only thing that she’d been given in the last few years from her, and after speaking to Minnie in the hospital wing she known what she had to do. It was obvious Blake was going to take her place on the Slytherin team when she left, but Minnie hadn’t been sure. Leda hadn’t wanted to delve too deep into the reason why, more aware since September of how she spoke to people, but regardless of whether or not Minnie continued on the team, the Head Girl had hoped that the rose and its note would serve as motivation that if the Ravenclaw wasn’t sure about something, then maybe she would choose to do something because it was ultimately what she wanted to do.
With the necklace in one hand, Leda left her place at the table when she spotted the rose being delivered to the Seeker. She couldn’t be sure from here that it was hers, although the note didn’t seem too long and she knew her note was short. Leda didn’t have any need for the necklace now, it would just be something she would end up hiding away, feeling guilty all over again at the relationship she’d ended up having with her. Doing this though felt right, as though passing on the Quidditch baton if nothing else. Leda had never had any younger siblings, and really she didn’t know Minnie that well either, but there still wasn’t anyone else she would have preferred to give it to. Standing by the third year, Leda silently opened her hand out and let the chain and the tiny golden ball slide off her palm, onto the table beside her note. Maybe Minnie did leave the team, but it wasn’t just about that. Leda just hoped she could see it as a source of strength for her decisions.
