Ravenclaw Quidditch Practice Y40 S1

Hamish continued his search.

Valerius continued on, searching for the snitch.

Sawyer felt his broom list slightly to the right, trying to keep himself centered as he watched for Xiuying's approach.

Juniper felt a stroke of luck as she went after a bludger and hit it square on towards Valeria. Beaters weren't immune to hits. @Valeria Iglesias

When Xiuying was close enough to the hoops, she threw the ball towards the hoops, but the quaffle unsuccessfully made it through the hoops, which disappointed Xiuying...

Sawyer decided to try something different as Xiuying approached, purposely leaving one hoop more open than the others to see if he could bait her into shooting for it. It was risky if he wasn't fast enough, but Sawyer was still able to block her shot, feeling pretty confident that if he got the timing down this could be a great strategy against Hufflepuff.

Hamish continued his search.

Valerius had underestimated how difficult this game could be, but he was still determined to catch the snitch.

Branson knew that the other chaser would probably be disappointed by missing, but he knew that she was good. He caught the quaffle as it thrown back out.

Valeria smiled at her friend, but she did immediately get her comeuppence for it when she was hit by a bludger. The pain was intense and Val wasn't sure she liked it much at all. She hit another bludger in frustration of her pain and was surprised when it hit the chaser with the ball. Another pretty cute boy.

Disappointed with her shot, she was determined to get it next time. Xiuying followed close behind Branson, hoping to try and get the quaffle.

Sawyer winced when Branson took another bludger right after getting the quaffle, hoping he was alright. He also hoped the friendly fire from the new beater wouldn't extend to him, rubbing his ribs ruefully and glancing to check where Finn and Juniper were at just in case.

Branson was disappointed when he failed to score. But he would just need to keep trying.

Valeria could feel more pain, but she was just pushing it through it. But she did completely miss the bludger she was aiming to hit.

It was always hard to tell what was going on at the other end of the pitch, but based on body language it looked like Branson didn't have much luck and Sawyer readied himself for the quaffle to head back his way.

Finn's heart sank further as bludgers began flying from the new alternate's bat. She definitely deserved to be where he was, and he couldn't bring himself to look at Juniper.

Sawyer had to untangle a mouthful of hair from his mouth as the wind changed directions, briefly considering if he should invest in a hairband or something to keep it out of his face on windy days.

Xiuying caught the quaffle once it was thrown in and made her way towards the hoops

Brush the rest of his hair out of his face, Sawyer straightened up when he spotted Xiuying on the move, deciding to try again to see if he could bait her to the open hoop by positioning himself just slightly too far to the right.

Juniper thought practice was going relatively well - though she worried a little about the hesistancy of some players.

Sawyer tried to keep his nerve and also keep his face neutral to see if he could sell his bluff, ready to move his broom at a moment's notice as the chasers approached.

As Xiuying was close enough to the hoops, she threw the quaffle towards the hoops and it successfully made it through one of the hoops. Xiuying cheers loudly as she saw it go through.

Branson despite being on the other team in this practice was glad the other chaser was managing to score. It was nicer than him always scoring. The ravenclaw grabbed the quaffle as it was thrown back out and began heading towards the other hoops.

Valeria went to hit a bludgeer and entirely missed. Almost letting go of her beaters bat entirely.

Sawyer cursed under his breath when he realized he'd over-committed on his bluff, not moving nearly fast enough to block Xiuying's goal and sighing as the shot easily made it through while he shot across trying to get to it. He scooped the quaffle back up, throwing it out to Branson and sitting back on his broom pensively as the chaser took off across the pitch.
