Quidditch Game: Slytherin vs Hufflepuff

Another quidditch season was set to begin, and Reeve was eager to be back at Hogwarts New Zealand to oversee the game. Readying the pitch with some school brooms and the official game chest, Reeve admired the well manicured field before taking a few laps in the air.

It was a beautiful day, a light breeze, some cloud cover, and just enough sun to keep things pleasant. Reeve greeted the captains as they appeared, waving them over to review the rules with them ahead of the season's start.

[Susie Lagowski]

Hufflepuff had to win this year. Susie had been working out harder than ever - push-ups, planks, curls, squats - and after giving herself a quick pep talk in the bathroom, she was ready to kick some butt. She craned to look up at the stands as her teammates arrived. Was Eoghan up there? Just in case he was, she flexed her biceps proudly at the crowd. Maybe he’d write something a bit nicer about her this year - but failing that, she’d take another roast as well. “GOOOOO HUFFLEPUFF!” ​

 

[Alana Cosgrove]

Alana made her way out onto the pitch for the first Quidditch game of the season, she was raring to go and had a good feeling about the new season. It was Slytherin's time.

 

[Vanity Mettlestone]

Vanity didn't know what was really expected of her as captain at these matches, besides giving the referee the lineup or giving some sort of speech. She didn't really have anything planned, and didn't think Horror was all that into giving speeches either. But she did have a little something to say. "Alright. You need to do your best and give them hell because if we lose to Hufflepuff immediately we might as well give up and live in shame in the Forbidden Forest. Right?" She said, before wandering over to hand over the lineup.

[Ignatius Wolffort]

Ignatius couldn't help but snort in amused agreement of Vanity's comment, but hastily covered it up with a cough. He was nervous, but he didn't want to admit such a thing. He hadn't had amazing practices, but he had to beat Hufflepuff. He just had to.

 

[Jonah Edogawa]

Jonah was ready. He knew he was. This was their year, he wanted it to be. They’d practiced hard for this, now they just needed to make sure it shines through during the game. He held his broom tightly as he waited with the rest of the team.

 

[Oswald Brambleheart]

Oz didn't feel too confident, but thankfully Jonah was a good chaser. Oz was just kinda...there. Of course it all came down to the seekers anyway. He waited to see what the captains would say.

 

[Dominic Owens-Lee]

Dominic made his way to the first game of the semester ready to take on whatever Slytherin had for them. Gripping his broom tightly, he gathered around with his teammates and waited for their captains to briefly talk to them before they would position themselves ready for the game.

 

[Bailey Walden-Cade]

It was Bailey's final season as co-captain of her house team, and she wanted desperately to win. She gathered her team and prepared to give her usual speech. She had never been much of a public speaker, and that hadn't changed much since becoming captain. "Ok, guys, we've worked hard for today, we kept our team together and we're stronger than we've been in years, let's give Slytherin an a$$ kicking they won't soon forget,"

[Sayuri Edogawa]

Sayuri was looking forward to getting some payback on Jonah. She stood with the rest of the team idly, rearing to go.

 

[Reeve Buchanan]

Reeve finished up his speech to the captains and then quickly reviewed the line up cards before sending the captains back to their teams. The referee cast the Sonorous charm on himself and then spoke, "Today is the first match of the season! Welcome! Hufflepuff, you will be keeping the northern hoops and Slytherin, the southern ones. Let's get into the air!"

The referee opened the game chest and released the bludgers and the snitch. The bludgers shot into the sky, beginning their hunt, and the snitch sped away too. The ref reached for his broom, quaffle in tow. A moment later he was in the air, tossing the quaffle into the sky and yelling "Game on!"

2. If you have any issues seeing the score on the referee's first post or with your access to the quidditch system, please send a PM including both me and your captain(s). It may be that they've forgotten to add you to the system or may be a bigger issue.
3. You should refresh the page before you post! Someone might sneak in a post while you are working on yours and first post counts.
4. You should always be pressing a button, whichever is appropriate for your game play during your post. Doing so boosts your success rate as well as allows the timer to kick in appropriately for your teammates and opponents.
5. After a player is hit by the bludger 3x, gameplay should stop. This allows for a quicker return to game post- substitution.
6. The game is meant to be interactive, so read your fellow players posts before posting! Stick with the game from beginning to end, from kicking off the ground to touching back down! Have fun!

Jonah jumped on to his broom and took to the air, swiping the quaffle to head towards the hoops.

 

[Ignatius Wolffort]

Ignatius took to the skies and immediately started searching for the snitch.

marley immediately went up into the air, finding a bludger to hit

Jonah threw the quaffle towards the hoops but was quickly blocked

Ignatius didn't find the snitch right away. Rude of it.

 

[Alana Cosgrove]

Alana kicked off the ground and went in search of bludgers.

 

[Bailey Walden-Cade]

Bailey kicked off and found her spot high above the others. Once the game began, she settled in to looking for the snitch.

 

[Vanity Mettlestone]

Vanity was determined to do better this game than she had done during the practice. She hit a bludger up, in the direction of the little miss perfect Hufflepuff captain. It didn't hit her, but it did fly past her. Vanity hoped she got the message, and that she and Alana would get her out of the air soon.
