Quidditch Game: Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor

Rāwhiti was peering through the haze as he heard the rush of a bludger, frantically trying to pull his broom around. He couldn't make the turn in time though, grunting as it hit him in the bicep. He winced, a small shiver running through him. Just perfect...

Enthused by Audrey's success, Lucy chased after the same bludger & fired it right back at the Gryffindor seeker, cheering when she managed to deal a second blow.

Trying to pull away from the bludger, Rāwhiti was completely blindsided by the same ball coming back at him from the other side. He swore loudly as it struck him in the thigh, trembling slightly with pain. He knew he was on his last leg, and it would somehow feel fitting if his Quidditch career at Hogwarts ended by literally being beaten off the pitch.

Audrey actually felt kind of bad, so she hit a bludger elsewhere to try and dismantle the rest of the team. She was aiming for Teddy, but seemingly their youngest player got in the way and took the hit instead. Audrey had less sympathy for @Ivy Cullen mostly because she had to learn sometime

Santiago saw another bludger and raced after it. He wasn't about to be shown up by the Ravenclaw beater. He swung and while it didn't hit the seeker he wasn't exactly upset. @Audrey Beauchamp

Buzzing with excitement, Lucy was determined to get another hit in. She tore after a bludger and swung hard, squealing with delight as she hit the Gryffindor captain again. She flew a triumphant loop-de-loop, watching the older boy take the hit.

OOCOut of Character:
Third hit, everyone wait for Reeve!

Reeve blew his whistle, bringing a halt to the game as the Gryffindor captain took a third bludger hit. He raced over, making sure the captain was able to get to a school nurse for some care.

OOCOut of Character:
Time out for bludger hits!

Rāwhiti's heart sank as he saw Ivy take a hit, worried for his youngest team member, but his lapse in attention was immediately and severely punished, the bludger seeming to come out of nowhere and sending a lance of pain through him. This was it, Rāwhiti felt his limit hit as the referee's whistle sounded. He didn't even try to stop himself crying as he was taken off, snuffling through the substitution with Reeve and Milo before he let the nurse take him off to the hospital wing, numb with pain and despair. What a way to end his Quidditch career.

OOCOut of Character:
@Milo Frogg subbing in for Rāwhiti!

Reeve felt a great deal of sympathy for the captain as he walked off the pitch. He nodded to the replacement player and then indicated that everyone should ready for the game to resume. "Game on!" he declared.

OOCOut of Character:
Quaffle is open to whomever grabs it first!

Milo was practically vibrating out of his skin as he watched the match from his usual spot on the bench, eyes trained on Rāwhiti as he took his last bludger, that one had definitely done some damage and he held his breath as the ref called time out. This was it, this was his moment and Milo tried to hold back a cheer as Rāwhiti was escorted off the pitch in tears and he was finally, finally able to kick into the air for his first game. Hopefully Rāwhiti would be crying for long.

Santiago frowned as the captain got taken away and Milo was subbed in. As much as he wanted to win he wasn't sure if he could bare Milo earning it for them.

Ambrose grabbed the quaffle once the time out was lifted.

Milo took a steadying breath. This was just like practice, he reminded himself, reaching altitude and squinting as the rain and fog immediately made visibility with his goggles harder.

Teddy was gutted for Rāwhiti as he watched him get bludgered from his final match and thought what a brutal way to go. Now, all Gryffindor’s hopes were riding on Milo, and honestly, that was not particularly comforting. Shaking his head, Teddy snapped back into action, ready to defend the hoops like the whole game depended on it.

Ambrose took a shot at the hoops and watched disappointedly as it got blocked.

Savannah continued to search for the snitch.

Teddy launched himself in front of the hoop and caught the quaffle. Happy with the save, he threw the quaffle out to a Gryffindor chaser.

Adrenaline pumping and robes already wet from the rain, Milo gripped his broom tight, trying to zone everything else out as he moved into a holding pattern. And then, in a move that could only be due to sheer skill, Milo saw it. The snitch darted past him, dropping lower through the fog and Milo tore after it, not even sparing a thought for where the beaters or Ravenclaw seeker was. He couldn't risk losing any ground and losing sight of it this weather but it turned out he didn't need to worry. Shifting his broom, Milo swerved right in time with the snitch, crowing as it practically sailed right into his outstretched palm.

"Yes, see, that's what I've been talking about!" He hollered, hefting the snitch up in a clenched palm, wiping wet hair giddily from his face with the other.

Ivy had been about to try and intercept the quaffle when she felt something hard hit her. She let out a hiss of pain at the impact and looked around to see one of the Ravenclaw beaters. She looked around for her captain for encouragement but instead saw Rāwhiti being hit twice in close succession. she wasn't surprised that the ref called a time out, and he got taken off for medical care. She was also grateful for a quick break to rewind herself. once the game was back, she followed the Ravenclaw who had the quaffle up to the hoops, glad that Teddy saved it. She caught the quaffle as it was thrown in and was about to head back down the pitch when a cheer erupted from the stands, which could only mean one thing. She looked for the seekers and was pleased to see Milo holding his hand aloft. She was too far to see the snitch in his hands, but it was clear it was there. "Yay. go Milo" she called flying over to him. Excited that they had won the game.
