Believe it or not Kagyou Wu uses Photoshop 7, and look how good she is.

I use a couple of ways to do it, too.
But for the ones that's "But My Eyes are WHITE", its not easy to change darker colour into lighter colour ( esp. white in my opinion). I didn't figure it out until recently, really XD.
Of course I use the other way, but mostly is changing the layout effects. X) But that's when you're not using white.

PASSION!

That and a lot of practice.

And of course, lots of fun doing it :D
 
Find Kirsti's [Athene Perthro] banners.
She was the first to start making them, and still the best IMO.
And she used PS7 ^_^

I wouldn't mind getting PS, but I'm definately not paying what it costs, nor can I be bothered learning how to use it after spending over a year getting to grips with the nitpicky tads in GIMP.

Neh. If you're good enough, your tools don't matter. [To a certain extent]

I really cannot draw.
I got like a 3 in my drawing test in art, and I was pleased with that.
Digital art is good though ^_^
 
Lemina: Yeah, I just saw it like. Then. God she's drawing pretty good. @@; I got a B3 for my O'level Art Exam in Secondary school. But that I didn't put in enough effort as expected myself to.. XD

And i couldn't find Kristi's banners. Could someone give me a link?

Gwuah. I just saw her banners- first page and last, i needa go study soon, i have an exam in an hour.

Her banners and pretty good. D: I might pick up a thing or two. But I'll do that after I finish all these academic messes + teacher leaving gift. @_@;

Kagyou, I tried your eye tutorial method for hair in GIMP.
Most successful way I've had yet of turning dark hair blonde ^_^

This is for Photoshop tuts - mostly - Clover.
If you go to my GIMP tutorials (link in siggy) there is a full tutorial on how to install fonts which includes screenshots.

Photoshop and MS Paint.

Pixel Art is my thing, been doing it since I was 11. Ten years now...
 
Kagyou I use CS3 but haven't figured out how you remove part of the banner. I open up a new image and make it transparent before then using the lasso tool to cut out the pictures I want to put in but though the image looks vaguely ok once I load it into tinypic the white background is visible again.
As seen here with Carmens siggy, I also ended up using tinypic to border it but since reading your tips on that will try it out.

Do you have any more tips, such as font downloading that is compatible with CS3 or photoshop 5.
