Leda was not having the best day. After witnessing Professor Pendleton face plant the floor and getting into a disagreement with a Gryffindor prefect, the second year had proceeded to head down to the Dungeons in search of Olive, with a new acquaintance in tow. Angry at the inability to speak, the moment her sister removed the hex from her mouth, the red head proceeded to quickly spill out everything that had just taken place, barely pausing for breath between each sentence. Once the tales were told, she wasted no time in turning away and back out of the Dungeon, not even waiting for a response from the Potions professor. Leda knew she just had to tell someone what happened, but it wasn't enough until Mervyn knew too. "Come on," she nudged to Zennon, hoping that as another witness and housemate he'd back up her theories, not that she had reason to believe Mervyn didn't trust her stories.

Eventually the reached the corridor outside the common room, and hammering on the portrait with her fist and ignoring the cries from the woman in the frame, Leda waited impatiently for her best friend to come back out. "I mean, how dumb is it, that a Professor would ignore me like that." she was telling the Slytherin, thinking back to how Professor Matthias had refused to remove the jinx on her herself. She was terrible at her job, and obviously hated children.

Zennon followed behind Leda, almost like an obedient puppy, though he would have left her at a moments notice should he think he needed to. He certainly hadn't wanted to leave her until she got her jinx lifted, wanting to make sure people weren't simply thinking she was faking it. After finding out that Leda's sister was the upper years professor, and deciding he maybe would have to make sure he didn't cross her, Zennon followed Leda up to the Gryffindor tower where they began looking for Mervyn. Zennon leaned against the wall and laughed slightly. He agreed that it had been a slight, but he wasn't sure if he felt it quite as much as Leda did. "James Cade is probably still on the ground." He said, pressing his lips together to keep from laughing again. He was sure James was in incredible pain, but it had been maybe a little bit funny. He would certainly learn a lesson from that one. "His girlfriend's a bit scary."

Given that all the children had been sent back to their common rooms, the last thing Mervyn expected was to be told two Slytherins were asking for him at the portrait. He crawled through the passage and emerged out the other side, confused, but happy to see his friends again. "Awright?" he said. "Isn't you two supposed to be in your common room?" Personally, Mervyn was still a bit shaken up by what he'd just seen. It wasn't every day a professor collapsed in the middle of the corridor.

Leda laughed at the idea of James still being curled up on the floor in the fetal position, and wondered if anyone had managed to get him any ice. "She looks like she's one of those people that just talks, and stands on the sideline." Leda stated, remembering how the girl had gotten in her face but hadn't actually done anything on her boyfriends behalf. The Slytherin loved to talk, but she'd proved she wasn't about doing nothing when it came down to it.

As the portrait swung open, Leda turned her head to see Mervyn emerging from the common room, and a smile reappeared on her face as she hugged him briefly round the shoulders. "We isn't.. We haven't exactly been told we can't leave.." she shrugged. She was sure there were much more pressing issues for the Professors at the moment anyway. "Besides, wait until you hear what happened when you left." She grinned at Zennon, before linking an arm through both boy's and clearing her throat as they began to walk down the corridor the way they'd come. "I swear you left at just the wrong moment. There were so many people. And things only got more intense," she started, eyebrows dancing up and down as she always got excited when recalling a story. She proceeded to mention how more Professor's had joined them, and how James Cade had arrived and attempted to intimidate everyone down into submission, ending neatly with her retort to his actions and eventual dismissal of students and point removal. "There has got to be more to this though." Stories were never just that. Everyone had their reasons and their motives, and the young Slytherin was quickly becoming enveloped in waves of drama as her mind began to spiral into even the most unlikely reasoning's to everyone's behaviour.

Zennon laughed at Leda's comment. She was kind of right after all. "She was a little like that wasn't she?" Zennon thought about James still on the floor. He assumed that someone had helped him by now, at-least he hoped so. He didn't want to think that the leader of the brotherhood was still clutching himself on the ground. Zennon remembered the first time he'd been hit. He was only eight and his brother had thrown a quaffle at him. Yeah, that hadn't gone well.

Mervyn made an appearance and Zennon knew he had to remember to get used to his accent. Zennon added in his own parts along with Leda's recount. Including the fact that James was probably still on the floor. It seemed that Mervyn had actually missed out on a lot. He wondered how it would be if they had all left or if they had all stayed. It was hard to tell really. "Professor Kingsley seemed to be the closest to Professor Pendleton, do you think she knows anything?" He asked, looking around to see if anyone was looking at them.

Mervyn couldn't believe how much he'd managed to miss in such a short space of time! If only he'd stayed, he might have got to see Leda knee his prefect where it hurt. Mervyn winced a bit at that. While he supported his friend whole-heartedly, he knew that must have hurt. Still, it would teach James to throw his weight around. Really - a silencing charm! It was a breach of human rights. Once Leda and Zennon had finished recounting the story, Mervyn said, "Dunno. You fink we should ask?" The Gryffindor had always gone for the direct approach, though even he could see how a bit of tact might help in this case. They wanted answers, but they couldn't just go asking for them outright - not unless they wanted to be shut down. After the IPP incident, they weren't really on the best terms with Professor Kingsley, anyway. "Oi - what 'appened to Professor Pendleton? You didn't tell me nuffin' 'bout that. Was right scary, that were. Fort 'e were dead for a minute."

Leda sniggered as she pictured James still on the floor in the corridor. She had since gotten Olive to reverse the jinx but it probably wasn't quite as easy to reverse such an action. She hoped everyone had ignored his plea for ice however, he deserved for feel it for a little bit. The Slytherin shrugged, glancing at the floor as she thought about what the woman was trying to do, hogging him to herself. "She looked like she knew what was happening. She probably knows something we don't. Maybe we can ask her without letting on that we want to know why he collapsed?" She offered, although what they were meant to say exactly she wasn't sure. "Monty got carried away by some guy from the hospital wing." Leda added, "Seems everyone got up close and personal with the Professor." Leda had barely even see a man cry before, let alone faint and sob and be carried over the shoulder of a young nurse. "Doesn't it strike you as a little odd. Monty is weird, that much is obvious, but it's not like Professors actually do that." An idea was brewing in the second years mind, and one that cautioned her more than the idea of the castle running out of food. "What if Monty was under the influence of something? Maybe someone put something in his drink. What if Olive is next?" The questions left her mouth quickly as her eyes were wide, staring at Mervyn. There was no way she was going to let her sister become like that man on the floor. "We need to find out why he just fell over like that." It was the only way they could be sure Olive and the others in the school were safe. If there was something going round the school then the truth needed to come out.
