Since Lennon had first joined the school paper in his first year, he had seen it continue to grow and grow and now there were so many people eager and willing to join. At times he still couldn't believe he had been appointed the editor but after a year under his belt he felt a lot more prepared. Even though he was only a fifth year and he still had a few years at Hogwarts left, he was already looking forward to shaping the members and this paper into something lasting. He hoped he could be a good role model to any of the newer staff members so the paper could be in good, capable hands once he was gone. Today he'd decided to call the first staff meeting of the year since they had quite a few new faces and everyone could get to know each other. The Ravenclaw stood in the newsroom, leaning against the desk he sat at while there was a blank blackboard in front of the room. At the moment it was blank but soon enough it would begin filling up with story pitches and assignments with who was writing the section throughout the year.

Merrill was still a little surprised with herself for joining the school paper. It was something that she had always thought about, but usually just passed it off as a passing fancy, but this year had actually decided to give it a try. Besides the paper needed someone who actually enjoyed quidditch on staff before the teams rioted. She had brought a note pad, and quill with her just in case she had to take notes at todays meeting. Merrill entered the room, and saw that so far it was just her, and Lennon. "Hey. Thanks again for letting me join." Merrill greeted the older boy. She took a seat, and held her hands awkwardly in her lap. So far the two had never interacted outside of the club fair. Unless of course you counted Lennon protesting her matches. Hopefully someone else would join them soon.

Working on the paper had unexpectedly been Caro's favourite part of her first year at school. Journalism wasn't something she had really expected to be interested in, but it was a great way to have an excuse for using her camera at school, and learning people's opinions and interests was so fascinating. She had spent spare time on the holidays scribbling down ideas for things she'd like to ask people this year. When Lennon called their first meeting of the year she was quick to make her way up to the clubroom, eager to get started. Caro was a little surprised someone had managed to beat her there - the older girl must be a new member. Giving a smile and a wave, Caro took a seat. "Hey guys. Good holidays?" She asked, addressing Lennon a little more since he was actually familiar.

Sophie felt more at ease with the people in Hogwarts Monthly than she did with most other students at school. A lot of them were similar to her, though not all. She eyed the blond Gryffindor girl that she had seen at the club fair when she was helping out. Sophie wasn't sure what to think of her, she seemed kind of quidditch obsessed. There was also the other Gryffindor girl Evelyn who wasn't here yet. She seemed... shallow, and Sophie didn't really think she'd get along with either girl.

But surely Lennon knew what he was doing, it was good to have different perspectives in the paper even if they were boring. She liked the older boy, and couldn't help admiring him for how he was running the newspaper. She felt a little nervous to see him and flashed him a quick smile before averting her gaze with a faint blush. She went to Caro's side, feeling most at ease close to her friend. "Hi." She said softly.

The blonde was on her way to a meeting with the Hogwarts Monthly she was really happy to join last year and hoped this year would be awesome too. As she entered the room she smiled at the people around her. She waved at Lennon and joined the group. But than she saw a other blonde girl and she sighted. Was Merrill following her around everywhere? Was she gonna stalk her now she and Lucas were over. The blonde was done with both of them. But she was not here to make a big deal out of it, she was professional but didn't lied about not liking Merrill. '' Hi guys! How are you doing?'' the blonde said with a bright smile. She noticed Sophie and knew she was the little sister of Amber, they never had spoke before but from what Amber had told her, they were nothing alike.

So far Daniel's advice on joining a club had been good. She rather enjoyed doing stuff behind the scenes for everyone to see and was glad to be a part of something important. When the girl saw that there was a meeting for the Hogwarts Monthly she made sure to make her way there on time and entered the room, sitting on the side as she watched other people enter and start talking to each other. Across the table she spotted Lennon and she smiled at him. It was only him and Diane whom she knew and she made sure to keep an eye out for Diane as she waited for the meeting to begin in hopes that she could find someone to talk to.

As an older student Aminia was anxious being thrown in with a bunch of interns whom were likely to be children. The blonde wanted to be more but she did not expect Lennon to allow such to happen - he still didn't like her. She was sure that there was little she could do to mend the friendship, but as she was trying participation in the club was essential. The part Veela wandered into the club meeting dressed professionally - hoping to make a good impression on the rest of the groups considering she already found ostracized by their leader - Lennon. Aminia stood a little away from the entrance, not yet joining the group, but not hiding her presence either.

The Hogwarts Monthly sounded like a club that was both worthwhile and exciting, and Nixon could not have been happier to be included in it. He was thrilled to be part of something so collaborative, and wanted to work his hardest to impress the club leader, Lennon, making sure that the older boy didn't regret accepting him. Really he wanted to impress every other student that worked on the paper, which is why Nixon showed up to the club meeting with a bright smile on his face. He noticed there were already a few people in the room, but didn't let the crowd deter him as he made his way over to Lennon. "Hey! Thanks for letting me be part of the paper! Can't wait to start working with everyone!" he exclaimed, before turning around and choosing a seat. He smiled as he sat down and looked between everyone that had arrived, while wondering what was supposed to happen next.

Lennon looked up as soon as the first person entered and he saw Merrill, the Quidditch obsessed girl, walk in. He smiled at her and said, "Of course." He wasn't going to be mean enough to deny her entry to the paper when she could actually cover the subject accurately and save him the trouble. He worried it might be awkward with just the two of them there but before long other members were arriving, some old and some new. He smiled at them all as they each greeted him and the room at large, though his smile faltered a little when he saw Aminia walked in. He still wasn't sure how to act around her and she wasn't exactly the easiest for him to ignore. Thankfully one of the newer members, and probably the youngest, came up to him to thank him for letting him be part of the paper. Lennon chuckled and said, "No problem, kid," and was glad that he was so eager to get started. He checked his watch and wondered if he should wait a little longer for the other members to arrive. In the mean time he began writing on the chalkboard, listing out the various different sections that were available to write about in the hopes that some of them would start brainstorming ideas once the meeting got started.

For the first time since joining the Hogwarts Monthly the year before Noemie was actually attending a real meeting for the club. She was nervous about it, this was so much more important than any of the other club meetings she’d been to. She had far more work that she had to do for this place. She had already begun thinking about the horoscopes that she had to do with them. The teen walked into the space and gave a small smile to the editor before glancing about the room until she spotted the people she knew. Spotting Evelyn in amongst the others she walked over and took a seat with her, "Hey," she said lightly with a warm smile to the other girl. They were friends, and Noemie was always so thankful for the time they could spend together, she only really had Evelyn with whom she could talk about fashion. Noemie looked to the leader of the meeting and waited for him to begin. Sure that whatever they would discuss would be crucially important, after all, why have a meeting for nothing. Though she could admit this did also give her the opportunity to get to know who else was on the Hogwarts Monthly team, she knew their faces, but she hadn’t talked to so many of them.

Stella wasn't sure how the Hogwarts Monthly will help her with magic. It was an uncertain direction she was taking all on her own, and it took a lot out of her to make that decision. So late in the game, what could she possibly contribute to the monthly? In order to do that, she would have to been apart of some community here. She had to actually like this school, made friends, or something. Anything to relate back to peers, she found that she was severely lacking. Maybe not by much, yet she aware it takes her while to find common grounds with others. So, maybe this paper will do? She had only a year and half to leave an impression. And time was ticking away. Stella walked inside the room where the meeting was being held. She carried a notebook to write in, along with ink bold pen. Stella greeted Lennon with a wave and quietly sat next to the other members.
