Eoghan hadn't ever considered himself to be someone who attended gatherings let alone hosted them, but it seemed as though that would be his current responsibility. He'd requested the members of the school paper meet him in their writing space in the hopes of inspiring them, which would have been a far fetched task for the Ravenclaw at the best of times.

The fifth year stood at the front of one of the long tables, newspapers and cut outs of articles spread out along its length. He hadn't bothered with snacks or drinks, they had plenty of time to refresh themselves in the Great Hall once this meeting was over. Leaning with his hands on the edge of the table, he was trying to summon the courage from deep down somewhere to pull this off, as he waited for the members to join him. There was frankly a lot to talk about, and he was going to need their help if they were going to make this paper one of the best the school had seen.

Juniper had enjoyed her time at the Hogwarts Monthly way more than she'd ever expected to. Writing wasn't something she'd thought she might enjoy doing publicly but it had turned out to be fun. Walking into the meeting for the first semester the third year peeked her head in first, a little shy to fully go in. She noted that it was just Eoghan there for now, feeling like it was safer than if everyone was already gathered there. "Hi, is today the right day?" Juniper said as she approached the blonde nervously. Maybe she'd come on the wrong day instead of just early. Horror began creeping up from her stomach at the thought, what if that was the case? Oh that would be embarrassing!!!

Sofia wandered along the fifth floor corridor, carefully peeling the wrapper off a chocolate-chip muffin. Every now and then, when she came across a door, she gave it a shove to see if it would give. Most of them were locked. The ones that weren't contained very little to interest an eleven-year-old girl. Still, she was determined that one of them must lead to treasure, or failing that, something juicy she could gossip with her classmates about.

Ooh. This one was open - and occupied. Nibbling on her muffin now, Sofia strolled in and took a chair. She knew that the way to get away with anything was to look like you were supposed to be there. If that didn't work, she had her age on her side. Had she wandered into the wrong room by mistake? Oh, I'm really sorry about that... etcetera, etcetera.

Salem was in a world of her own as she walked towards the Hogwarts Monthly's room. She'd seen the flyer about the meeting but she had no idea what it'd be about. With her earbuds in the first year had made her way through the castle as some music played from her record player. It was her favourite thing ever, okay well maybe after her wand but it was a close second.

As the girl walked in she noted there were a few people already there, one being the girl she'd met at the train. Settling somewhere near the Hufflepuff Salem lowered the volume of her music and took one bud out. That way she could hear what was being said but still have her music there too.

Sybil rushed up the stairs to the Hogwarts Monthly room. She really didn't want to be late. She was going to do better this year, she had to. She fought to catch her breath as she made it to the fifth floor, why did the dungeons have to be so far from everything?! She straightened out her uniform before walking inside and greeting their editor. She was surprised that a few younger students had beaten her but she waved at them too. "Oh hello!" she said brightly before turning to Eoghan. "Hi Eoghan! How was your break? Congrats on the prefect badge. We're you as surprised as I was?" she asked but waved the thought away immediately. "Of course not. It's not a surprise at all. You totally deserve it." she said in a rush. @Eoghan Blyth

Leo hadn't really wanted to go to this Hogwarts Monthly meeting, he wasn't even sure what he could do for the club if he was being honest. All he'd be doing would be providing photography assistance and maybe that could have been done without actually being part of the club...? Surely. However Lilith had insisted he at least go and check it out, make friends with the other club members if nothing else. Though the first year suspected his sister wanted him to show up because her boyfriend was the one leading the club, Leo could never say no to either of his sisters. So that was why he entered the room and gave an uncomfortable smile to Eoghan, whose face mirrored his own. They both looked to be in pain, perhaps the prefect would appreciate him being here if this was just as hard for him. He did notice another girl talking to the boy though so decided to just settle close to the door rather than talk to anyone.

Rose wasn't entirely sure why they needed a full blown meeting for the school paper. As far as she could tell, the articles were being written throughout the year on time, so surely this was more of a meet and greet to have everyone under the same roof? Time that she could have been spent studying, or practising Quidditch instead. The third year plopped herself into a seat, trying not to look too jittery as the Editor was taking his time to get started, and to get to the point of why they were here in the first place.

Eoghan was a little unnerved by the fact that people actually did what he asked and joined him in their meeting room. "Hi Sybil," he gave the Slytherin prefect a small smile, trying to be reassured by the way she was complimenting him, but the idea of talking to a group was pressing more on his mind in that moment. "Thank you, my break was.. fine." He didn't really know how to explain it to someone who didn't really know him that well, nor was he sure whether he wanted to. @Sybil St. James

The fifth year gave a nod as Lilith's little brother joined them, and he was quietly glad he didn't try to do anything to claim the limelight. It would be hard enough as it was for Eoghan to get across what he needed to say without the Gryffindor cracking a joke at the most inopportune time @Leo Ilves . "Yes, this is the right place," his eyes dragged to see Juniper had joined them too. Eoghan thought the Hufflepuff reminded him a little of himself when he'd started the paper and he was glad to see how much she'd been involved with it recently. @Juniper Veritas

Standing up a little straighter, Eoghan cleared his throat, preparing himself to address the crowd that had gathered. It didn't go amiss of who wasn't here, either. "Thank you for coming," he began politely, hoping what he was about to do didn't embarrass anyone. "There are a number of things to talk about today but I will be a fast as I can." Eoghan didn't want to linger anymore than they had to either. "We have two new members joining us on the team, the first one is Leo who has joined us as a photographer," The Ravenclaw motioned to the first year. "Photographers are going to play a larger part in the paper than they have in previous years, we're going to have more events that will require photography skills alongside those that enjoy writing. While most of you are Reporters however, there's nothing to stop you from picking up a camera too if you want to." It would hopefully make more sense once Eoghan told them of his ideas. "We're also welcoming Salem, who any other Ravenclaws may recognise as having joined us this year." Eoghan paused, looking at a third newcomer who was currently sat eating a baked good that Eoghan certainly hadn't provided. "And her?" Eoghan glanced across to the others in the room, before back at the brunette who seemed perfectly at ease, "I have no idea who she is." Eoghan could only assume she was an imposter, or someone who'd missed signing her name up on the list at the fair. He would have to find out once he was finished here. @Sofia Morse

"I want us to be more interactive with each other this year," Eoghan spoke once more to the group as a whole. "Everyone of course wants to submit their own pieces of work, but there's nothing to stop you utilising each other, and I don't just mean with interviews." Eoghan felt as though there was a lot they could be doing if they combined their efforts. "Sybil," he suddenly turned once more to the Slytherin. "This year, we're doing our O.W.L.s," he didn't doubt she'd forgotten. "Perhaps a regular meeting could be arranged for others wanting a group to study with? You could submit a note in the paper of when and where other students could go to help one another." It didn't have to be a fully written piece, but there were plenty of things they could do in addition, "Juniper, you do a lot of baking, don't you?" The Hufflepuff had written a number of recipes in their previous issue. "Why not take a sample around the room, I'm sure there would be students out there willing to give you a review." Eoghan turned to Rose, "You play Quidditch, but perhaps there can be more to the paper than just a run down of the matches. Don't forget that players practice too, both as a team and in their own time. Does anyone ever cover what it's like in the lead up to a game? Do the players get nervous? Are they still bruised from the training? Most people see what's right in front of them, but what happens when you want to hear about the things you miss?"

Juniper let out an exhale as Eoghan confirmed she was in the right place, not that it mattered too much since people had started to trickle in already anyways so that'd eased her mind a bit. Retiring into a safe corner of the room Juni kept an eye on everything, too nervous to really speak to any of the others. Especially Rosé. She wondered if Rosé was Zeke's other girlfriend and if the Ravenclaw despised Juni.

The Hufflepuff was brought back from her thoughts as Eoghan began speaking and she was a little alarmed at having to be more interactive, though it would perhaps be good too. She'd get a chance to get out of her shell a little more, but when he outright addressed her alone her eyes grew in size at least double. She just stared at him, horrified, gutted, betrayed. She'd let it slip once that she liked baking and now it was all out there. "OK." The third year croaked, still staring at the Editor that was also addressing others. She might have cried had she not been so utterly shocked, but now that she was coming down from the shock she was also getting a tiny bit stressed over the whole thing. What would she make? Merlin have mercy, she was going to make something and absolutely ruin it. Everything was going to burn down and everyone would hate her.
