High school musical 2041

Now that he was crouched behind the table, an incredible idea struck him, and he smirked. Taking out his wand, he conjured a branch of mistletoe as accurately as possible, and then, very slowly so as to not attract their attention, he levitated it to over Matthew and Matilda's heads, then lowered it slightly so they both stood under it. However his levity was short-lived as soon Esme was sweeping regally down on a broom. As much as he disliked her for everything she had done, he still had to admire her posture, as if she were a queen. Scowling, he turned towards her. "I'd offer you a drink, but you'd probably make a Molotov cocktail out of it. And no, not fireworks, something far more interesting."

Belladonna didn't mean to act like she was trying to be unsocial on purpose, but lately it had been harder and harder to get around. If it hadn't been for Zinaida talking non-stop about how Belladonna needed to get out and show off 'her cute little belly', she would have just stayed inside, cuddle beside the fire in the Gryffindor Common Room. It was appreciated that Zinaida was trying to be a good aunt, but Belladonna couldn't take her fussing anymore. Throwing on the baggiest cardigan she could find to attempt and take the attention off the beach ball she was currently sporting, she found herself arriving at the Lakefront, feeling more awkward them ever. In the distance she spotted Vladimir speaking to the Head Girl, Clara, if she remembered her name more correctly. Waddling over to the pair she stood next to Vladimir, giving him a tired smile before her eyes fell onto Clara. Hopefully they didn't think she was being nosy. Belladonna just didn't know the other students enough to feel comfortable just walking up and starting a conversation. "Hello Clara." The two didn't know each other too well, but Belladonna wasn't mean and it wasn't like they had any reason to dislike each other.

Vulcan Zhefarovich was out here on his own free will. He heard all about how James Adams seemed to have a thing for his girlfriend, whether it was out of a rivalry or just unrequited feelings. He didn't know, but that was why he had a stash of roman candles at his side. Hiding behind a tree, he had his candle in one hand, and a wand in the other. He was in perfect view. But his girlfriend was a little in the danger zone. He didn't let her know of his plans, but this was going to be fun regardless. Smirking, he cast incendio on the fuse, and aimed, while casting a protego to protect Esme in case his aim was off, as soon as the roman candle fired. Whether it hit or not, this was going to be fun.

There were whispers about a party, and Vex was ready to join it. With graduation having been a real emotion stirrer, the non-being could feel a certain crackle of energy as every student and professor was abuzz with expectations, anxieties and relief over coming few months. Always ready to cause some sort of trouble, the poltergeist was naturally drawn to the gathering of students by the lakefront. Teenagers especially couldn't help but cause trouble, and Vex was all too willing to help things along should they be needed. Appearing invisible, he stalked behind the flying Slytherin and observed the goings on. He recognised the students from their faces, but could only name a select few.

Now upside-down, the poltergeist dropped under the table, finding Avie the Slytherin wearing some seaweed, and appeared to him wearing a malicious grin that almost reached his ears. His orange eyes glowed with anticipation as flaming candles were thrown, and the non-being knew just what to do. Vex thrust the table upwards, dislodging it of its food and drinks, which scattered everywhere - some even hitting innocent students - and exposing the damp Slytherin to the night air. All that could be recognised of the invisible poltergeist was his ear-splitting cackle.

Avie was so satisfied, he grabbed a handful of food and crawled underneath the foods table to that he could stuff his face with food that he had taken off the table and the boy was completely satisfied to do that for the entire time that this last, he smiled at Jean when he arrived, but largely ignore the boy, seeing as it wasn't Lucien, he did however get a little confused when he noticed one of the girls with a huge belly, what was wrong with her? Avie thought that perhaps she had eaten one too many of the cakes made by the elves but, that couldn't be it, since he ate many of the cakes and after staring at his own belly, lifting up the wet t-shirt and breathing in and out deeply trying to make his belly bigger he realised that it really couldn't be the cake. However upon hearing Esme's voice a smile erupted on the boy's face and he put the food on the ground for later and crawled a little out of his hiding spot looking up at Her since she was up on a broom and he waved happily at his friend, "Hello!" the boy greeted her warmly, but it was as he did this that the table of food suddenly went flying, completely exposing him, and the moment after an ear splitting crack and a flash of light, and he put his hands out to protect himself, closing his eyes to the noise and felt a sharp and lasting pain begin at his palm and grow up his arm, and it was at this point that Avie promptly burst into tears.

The prospect of a party was always exciting, and allowed Christopher to showcase his talent with a guitar, so when the Gryffindor heard about the one James was organising, he was excited to join in on the event. With the strap of his instrument across his chest, the guitar settled comfortably along his back, Chris made his way through the courtyard and across the grounds, where hanging lanterns and tables of food marked the location of the party. He was looking forward to the occasion, it was a great opportunity, and with only another year to go until graduation, he didn't want to have any regrets, or have missed out on the fun he could have had.

Coming into the clearing by the Lake, Chris took in the sight - the people by the food, that chick who seemed like kind of a b**** from Slytherin floating around, and a few of the graduating students. He raised his hand in general greeting. "Hey gu-" The boy had started to say, until the relatively casual party suddenly exploded - rather literally - into chaos. There were fireworks and sparks, screams, and a table was launched into the air. Chris retracted his hand and took a step back. "Nah, it's cool. I think I'll come back later." He murmured, startled and in shock by what had just happened. Stray pieces of food had coated his jacket, and he wasn't sure how to handle the situation, opting to slowly retreat back the way he had come.

"What the !$#@!" Jean yelled as food covered his clothing. He looked around, looking for the culprit and finding nothing but he heard a laugh and realized who, or better yet what, it was. He narrowed his eyes, reaching for his wand to clean himself off before moving as far from the food as possible. There wasn't necessarily a better place to go though as fireworks were being shot at people in another part of the lakefront. If the choice was between being hit by fireworks or food, he'd choose food all day.

James was quite enjoying himself until things started to go badly. Very badly. Out of the corner of his eye he saw something flying through the air, and not having time to see what it was, he just dived over the table away from it, hoping it wasn't going to be something comical. However as he dived, he felt the table flip up underneath him and push him forwards, until he felt himself falling forwards. Tucking his legs into him he continued the roll, and by some great chance, he executed a perfect flip back onto his feet near Matthew again. Looking behind him, he saw food going everywhere, and then there came an explosion and he saw a firework light up. For god's sake he thought, people had to mess everything up didn't they? Picking Matilda up quite gently, he shoved her into Matthew's arms and left them, instead looking around to see who the culprit was.

Esme had no idea what exactly a Molotov cocktail was, but by the sounds of it, it was probably dangerous. Perhaps it was something she'd consider looking into in future. Unwilling to show her confusion, the girl just smirked in response, but before she could inquire about the so called "interesting" thing James was fidgeting with, a fiery rocket invaded the relative peace of the clearing, showering everything in its wake with red hot sparks. Any that strayed into her general vicinity bounced from a transparent shield that had been cast in front of her, much to the Slytherin's confusing. In the same moment, the castle's poltergeist made his appearance by launching one of the food tables upwards and the sound of Avie crying cut through the air. Esme wanted to see if he was alright, but with both the shield in front of her and the firework not yet out, she wasn't about to move from her position of safety. "Just so we're clear, everyone can agree that wasn't my doing this time, yes?" Esme called out to everyone present, daring anyone to try blame her for this one. If the professors were alerted, she was not enduring another trip to Kalif's office.

At Vladimir's reply, Clara blushed even more, if that was possible. How did she not realize Belladonna was pregnant? She had been so caught up in her own world to even notice what her peers were going through. She felt terrible. However, Clara forced a smile when Vladimir told her the babies name, it was really pretty. The two were then joined by Belladonna, and she smiled in return. "Hi Belladonna, congrat - " The rest of her speech was cut off as screams, fireworks, and crying hit her ears. Clara looked back over at the group, which had grown in size, shocked by what had happened. The food table had been thrown, food everywhere, Matilda was in Matthew's arms, and Avie was crying. "I'll be back." Clara muttered to Vladimir and Belladonna as she rushed over to Avie. She put an arm around him and led him out of the firing line he seemed to be in, comforting him as she moved him away, wondering what in merlin had happened.

Vulcan noticed that his plan was a success, while accidentally lighting more than necessary and causing what looked like a celebration happening in the sky. His main target was, and would always be, James Adams. What he found to be perfect was the poltergeist making a mess of things, and cackling, covering people in food and drinks. This was perfect for his escape. Chuckling, he slithered away, before breaking into a high tail run while others were distracted. As long as Esme was not hurt, he didn't care.

Vladimir thought that things were a little on the odd side, but he felt a little more relaxed when Belladonna showed up. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw something explode, and immediately covered Belladonna from the fireworks, in case one came over his way. A few sparks singed his robes, but his girlfriend and baby were both safe. Vladimir felt something else hit him, and looked down at the ground. Food? He turned his head back as he heard a cry, and Clara went to go help. What the hell? It was that Vex character cackling. Was it responsible for the fireworks too? Vladimir muttered, "Can't believe it would do such a thing while there is a lady here that is with child. How low can someone get." Vladimir dusted himself off, and made sure Belladonna was okay. "Bella, stay here for a moment. I need to see what the hell happened." Despite the fact she was a prefect, he still wanted her well out of the way. He walked over toward Esme, his eyes glowering down, but his target was not them. He then saw someone running from the scene before he thought, 'That better not be... No wonder Esme was protected.' Vladimir sighed before whipping his wand out, shoving people out of the way as he pursued, if need be.

Matilda was clearly sharper than Matthew had given her credit for, he almost felt guilty when she mentioned Clara and that she knew he had been staring at her. When asked if he would go over and talk to her he shrugged his shoulders, I dunno she looks busy and frankly I've made enough dealings with members of the Zhefarovich family I don't want to go and interact with two more," He looked over at the two boys, he didn't know either of them well but he was getting good at spotting Zhefarovich family members after spending some time as one of their targets. "I don't know, I like her but she's not..." Matthew was cut off by all the commotion. Candles were flung, Vex the poltergeist threw food and drinks everywhere and out of nowhere James grabbed Matilda and flung her into Matthew's arms. Despite making his intentions clear to James he was going out of his way to push he and Matilda together. Once everything calmed down he looked at Matilda, "Well that was unexpected, oh sorry I should put you down," He put her back on her own two feet and looked around to see if everyone was OK, he couldn't help but wonder what James' role had been in it.

James wasn't quite sure what was happening all of a sudden. Everything had occurred within a few moments of the thing being thrown at him, and as he checked himself for injuries, he noticed a few minor burns. After the last major explosion he'd been a part of, they didn't bother him. By now he also had recognised Vex's distinctive laugh, and he sighed, but he couldn't find who might have lit the fireworks. Then, spotting Vladimir chasing something, he began to wonder whether one of those Zhefarovichs was in on it. Scowling, he turned back to the table and began to restore some order to the food, and then called out, confused over Esme's role still. "But...how come you're the only one being shielded? And also, Vex, get out here now!"

There had been rumours going round the castle that a party was being organised for the graduating class and Maddie loved parties. She had no idea if second years were allowed to attend but she didn't care too much. After all the drama and the madness of the past year, a party would be a fantastic way to blow off some steam.

It was soon time to leave for the party and they had planned not to arrive too early because they didn't want to be standing around not talking to anyone, being awkward. So Charlotte and Maddie had decided to leave a little later so they could blend in to the crowd once they were there. She waited in the Entrance Hall for best friend and partner in crime. Maddie would hardly be seen anywhere without her Slytherin mischief maker. Soon enough, Charlotte surfaced and Maddie gave her a quick hug and then set off towards the Lake.

Just as she expected, there was already a crowd down by the lakefront which would make their arrival easier. As she walked closer she soon realised that they were the only second years at the party which was a bit more intimidating than she had first thought. She looked over to Charlotte and pointed towards the food table, "when in doubt go for the food" she thought to herself. Just as they walked over to the table trouble erupted in the form of fireworks and the poltergeist. In the midst of the chaos the food table was pushed over and everything on it went flying. To make things more confusing, a firework flew past her and narrowly missed her head. With the fireworks having no sign of stopping, Maddie dropped to the ground and crawled to where the food and drink had landed. She grabbed a bottle of pumpkin juice and took Charlotte's hand and pulled her away from the mess of the party. Maddie decided to hide at the base of some trees where they could safely be away from the chaos, but also close enough to still see the party unfold.

The last year for Charlotte had been very eventful and when she heard from Maddie that there was going to be a sort of end-of-year party, she couldn't contain her excitement. She practically ran to the entrance hall from her common room in the best clothes that she could find and found her best friend there waiting for her. Charlotte grinned as she gave her a hug and they both set off for the lakefront where many people already were. She heard the commotion before she even saw it and truly considered turning around and walking back when she noticed that they were the youngest there. The loud noise and the drinking was starting to get slightly intimidating but she still stayed there for Maddie nonetheless, happy that they had each other in case anything were to go wrong.

Before Charlotte could decide where she wanted to go first, she followed Maddie in the direction of the food table before abruptly having to duck to narrowly miss a firework going her way. She quickly followed Maddie near some trees and felt her hands shaking from the sudden shock. "I-I thought fireworks were banned on the school grounds." she whispered to her friend, feeling her heart beat hard against her chest. Memories started coming back from the previous year when a gryffindor prefect wanted to set off fireworks and how that situation had unfolded. She felt somehow that they didn't belong at the party but continued to watch, feeling slightly confused about the sudden turn of events moments after they showed up.

Avie didn't like the pain in his hand and much less had he liked the sudden noise, the table flipping and just everything that had happened in the last few seconds, he didn't like it at all, and when he didn't like something or was startled, Avie usually started crying. He sniffed loudly, wiping his sore hand on his shirt and just sitting unsure of what to do, feeling that all he could do was cry, he felt someone put their arms around him and guide him away from the mess and he followed, just moving in the direction she wanted him to, he wiped his eyes and noise with the hand that wasn't sore, only really making things worse considering that he was still soaked, and from that the boy broke off from whomever was helping him, and while still sniffling and crying, wandered into the lake, not once meeting her gaze or acknowledging her help. The lake was good, the lake was safe, and he liked how the water made his hand feel, he just continued out until he was far enough and deep enough in that he could just sit down and play with the rocks, away from the party. He pulled down the seaweed and threw it into the lake and then let his gaze move down to his hand at his hand, which appeared to have a burn mark on the palm, no bigger than the size of a galleon, but it was sore and only in the water did it feel better. Avie was able to get himself to stop crying so badly as he just played with the rocks, after all the crying after his mother had died he'd slowly begun to learn to stop himself without needing the comfort of a friend, friends whom he loved but were too busy being all powerful and smart for the likes of him. The slytherin usually really liked parties, but he didn't like that one and he much preferred just playing with the rocks by himself in the lake where he was safe, where he could just play with his rocks and make his own fun, after all, he'd always have next year, when he could celebrate his graduation with his friends and no fireworks.

Vex was cackling happily as everyone ran and tried to make sense of what was happening. He himself had no part in the candle throwing, but there was no way he wasn't going to take advantage of it all. His fun was stunted slightly when James called him - he had had run ins with this particular student before. Last time, he had smeared the prefect with bubblegum. This time, he was armed with an iced cupcake. He reappeared alright - merely an inch from James' face - with a cupcake in hand. It was iced and lovely, whilst James' head looked like it needed some. The cupcake was smeared thoroughly, whilst the non-being kept a very straight face. The façade soon fell away once he was finished, and he back-flipped away from the boring Gryffindor to hover above the students.

Vladimir managed to lose that sneaky prefect. He got off lucky for now, but he would definitely punish him once they were out of the school. Shaking his head, he walked back to his girlfriend, before shaking his head. "Cousins." Vladimir didn't really know what else to say about that one, but he turned away from the chaos that was, knowing that this might not be the best place. Vladimir shrugged his shoulders, "I say after the baby is born, we should get married. And before you say anything, I have the support of many of my family members already and the new Patriarch doesn't really have a reason to say so, because his son married a half-veela. But until then, you aren't leaving my sight. Not for one moment." That was Vladimir's way of proposing and also saying that he loved her. If she knew him as well as he knew that she did, she would get the message.

Everything was just settling back to normal, the metaphorical dust cloud settling over the ruin of what had once been a nice and normal party. And then suddenly it all went wrong again. Just in front of him Vex appeared, and he suddenly knew something bad was about to happen a split second before it did: Vex didn't appear for anyone, and the fact that he had spelled disaster. Unfortunately, he was unable to move quick enough as what felt like icing was spread liberally over his face. Coughing as some got in his mouth, he gagged slightly, before raising his wand to clear it off with a simple charm. Unsure what to do, he decided the best course of action was to entice Vex with other victims and get him off the hook for a moment. Whilst Vex was close, he leant in and whispered to him. "Hey Vex, you see those two in each others' arms. Yeah, the short one being held by that large one. Well you see, he doesn't quite want to admit his love to her yet, but he clearly does love her. Do you mind...ahem...speeding things along before they graduate?" Then, that done, he continued to clear the icing off his face, scowling as he did.

Clara's eyes followed Avie as he broke away from her and headed to the lake. She knew he'd probably need to go see one of the school nurses, but he seemed quite content with his hand in the lake for the time being. Clara didn't want to push him, or make him more unsettled, so instead, she looked around at the party, still trying to figure out what on earth had happened. She had to giggle, when the poltergeist showed up as he was called, smearing cupcake on James' face. Her eyes fell to Jean, who was looking rather grumpy, so rather then standing awkwardly, Clara cautiously made her way over to him; he had always been kind to her and there was no reason for her to ignore him, just because of his brother. "Are you alright?" She asked coyly as she approached him.

Belladonna was unsure what had happened, but the sight of food all over the place suddenly made her hungry. It almost sounded like a firework, but due to the fact that she hadn't been paying attention, her guess was as good as anyone's. Vladimir returned muttered something about cousins, which brought Belladonna to raise an eyebrow at him. "Your cousin did all of that?" Was Vladimir's entire family filled with chaos and trouble? Hopefully not. Belladonna worried about the fate of her baby if her thoughts did happen to be true. Listening to Vladimir's next statement, her face immediately crumpled in confusion. Belladonna shook her head, wondering if she had heard him right. "I'm sorry, I think I just hallucinated. Did you just say marriage?" As she stared at him, and he returned the look, she could tell he was completely serious. Well that was the last thing she had been expecting. A look of amusement took place of the confusion that he been there previously, and Belladonna smiled softly. "Yeah, okay. Just remember that this means I can call you all the cheesy pet names I want and you can't get mad." Belladonna teased at the end, knowing fully well he wasn't going to enjoy it, but it was too late to take it back now.

Vex's orange eyes were narrowed now. But he was loath to not go see if the Gryffindor was telling the truth, and had a soft spot for all things cuddly. He knew the couple - visually, at least. It was hard not to see that huge lightning rod of a head boy, after all. The poltergeist disappeared once more through the ground, on a mission to get some materials to help with his persuading. Upon his return near the couple, he heard everything. What the Slytherin said mostly went over his head, but the Gryffindor was much more understandable. Armed with a near mountain of petals in his arms, the poltergeist announced himself to the pair.

"Awww! He flung the clump of petals over the pair, before pulling out a very old looking violin. He had facial hair now, curled out to two long strands, whilst hair on his head was split evenly at the middle. The violin was played with all his expertise - which was none, and so sounded like a dying kneazle. He circled the loved up pair like the moon to the sun, his grin nearly slicing his face in half.

"You're getting married! Of anyone didn't hear Vex's announcement, they very deaf. He was now speaking so loud, he virtually had a sonorous charm going. "I'll go tell Kingy! Congratulations!" Every good couple needed a hug and kiss - but Vex opt to just throw slime at the pair instead, and zoomed off without looking back to see if it hit - he had a headmistress to tell all this to!

Jean was about to call it quits, ready to leave this disaster of a party so he wouldn't be asked to help clean up. Then, Clara appeared on front of him and he stuffed his hands in his pocket, nodding quickly at her question. He didn't know her very well, but she'd always been kind to him. Even now, she'd come to him even though there was a chance he'd side with his brother. "Are you?" he asked pointedly, asking about more than just the fireworks and Vex around them.

Vex was shouting something about a marriage, and Jean whipped his head around, narrowing on the pregnant girl and Vladimir. He looked away in disgust, pregnant and barely graduated. It was a shame. He turned his attention back to Clara.

Vladimir looked down at Belladonna, as he listened to her, but what he wanted to hear was whether or not she would say yes to his rather odd proposal. And when she did, Vladimir was about to protest to the names before he just rolled his eyes. He looked to the side, before thinking over their situation. He was going to be Head of the Family, and even now, he had authority. Vladimir didn't speak another word until something awful reached his ears, and noticed it was the annoying pest. Vex. Vladimir brought his wand out, and used his free hand to pull the petals from his black hair. He was a sorry violin player, and tried to slime them but he was expecting that. Vladimir placed a protego up to save himself, and his future wife, from the slime. Vladimir muttered, "Nuisance." Vladimir looked over to see Clara and Jean talking. Lucien came running to him, afraid if his brother was into mudbloods. Vladimir figured that if he was, good riddance cause he wouldn't survive. He was raised to think that way due to his strict training growing up. He motioned for Belladonna to follow him inside, before waving his wand and casting a cleaning spell to clean up the mess that the pest made.
