loan went to the quid ditch pitch. a scowl on his face. he was not happy to be back at school. he was not happy to be running the team after last years matches, they had been abysmal. he had been considering quitting the team. but over the break he ad been training with his old AFL team and it had reminded him what a team was. he went down to the pitch ready to start the trials hoping that skye would be there somewhere.
he waited for those trying out to arrive before he blew his whistle. "Okay, guys. ready to try out. she said. "just a heads up. you are not guaranteed a spot even if you were in the team last year" he said. he had been a bit of spit last year for assembling such a large team. "first i want to see a lap of the pitch then head up and practice the position you want to play. he looked at skye wondering if she had anything to add. he had kind of gotten used to organising the tryouts, and hadn't been used to having a co-captain as much.

gryffindors can post. first years please contact either me or skye and get an okay before posing.

Ailsa was really looking forward to this semester of quidditch, she had been working hard over the break to get good enough to play and was really pushing herself to be the best player. She had a lot going on during the year, and quidditch even though intensive was to be her release. The gryffindor walked out onto the quidditch pitch and greeted the captain with a small smile, before just getting herself ready as she stood beside Archie. It wasn't too long until the captain had given them instructions and Ailsa was able to just hop up on to her broom and fly around the pitch doing several laps before flying back and grabbing her beater bat and just continuing to practice what she needed to, or well with this case just try-out again, but Ailsa didn't really care, she just practiced as she would've done at any other point, during any of their practices.

After the disaster of last year Skye was hoping to put it all behind her and have a good season. It was her last after all. The red head donned her quidditch robes and grabbed her broom before heading to the Quidditch pitch to meet Lowan. Skye stood to the side while he addressed the team, she still wasnt used to being co Captain so when he looed over at her to see if she had anything to add she cleared her throat. "Nothing to add, just good luck," She smiled before taking to her broom. Skye took a fee laps of the field before joining the chasers in practice. Co Captain or not she didn't want to give Lowan any excuse to drop her.

Jean stomped onto the pitch with his broom in hand and his quidditch uniform on. He was a bit grumpy this morning after hearing some news, which was quickly confirmed as their captain announced that no one had a guaranteed position. With a scoff as they were released to go try out again, Jean muttered to himself, “I bet you don’t have to try out again, Captain” as he walked past the seventh year. The Gryffindor pushed off the ground quickly and began his lap around the pitch. He sped away, moving quickly around the hoops and speeding up as he came out of the turn. He finished the lap up quickly and then sped for the person who had the quaffle, waiting for them to make a mistake so he could steal it away. If Lowan wanted them to try out again, Jean wasn’t going to mess around. He was going to play aggressively and any of the first or second years who wanted to try out had better get out of his way. Eventually, Jean found himself with the quaffle in his hands and he sped towards the hoops, shooting for the right one and scoring easily. He didn’t celebrate at all, moving right back into position to get another opportunity. By the time the tryouts ended, Jean’s hair was slicked with sweat and he landed on the ground again, the grumpy look still on his face as he waited to hear their captain let them know the results.

James arrived on the Quidditch pitch early enough to have to wait a couple of minutes before their captain started speaking. It seemed like Lowan was angry at them. Sure, they hadn't had the best season last year, but the captain himself hadn't even played for one of the matches, preferring to 'oversee' them or some such nonsense. Whilst the older players might know that the mood within the team could be good at times, it might put off the newer players if they found a team captain angry with them all. Still, he listened intently and noted that Skye was the new co-captain, and he made a mental note to congratulate her later - she was a good player. Picking up his broom, he mounted and kicked off hard, soaring into the air. Leaning forward, he flew at a quick pace around the lap, before dropping to the ground and releasing the snitch. Waiting a few seconds, he chased it upwards, and it seemed almost slower than usual. He quickly drew level, and he stretched out his hand leisurely to grab it. Letting go, he set off in pursuit again. At the end, he had caught the snitch several times, and he felt he had given a good enough performance of himself.

Rudolf strolled down to the Quidditch pitch, completely oblivious that his twin had walked the very same grass not a few hours ago. He really had no reason to suspect the Hufflepuff would sign up; Reuben loathed exercise nearly as much as he loathed writing essays. Rudolf stepped onto the pitch and found himself a school broom, uncertain as to whether the butterflies in his stomach were a result of excitement or fear. It was probably a little of both. The young second year couldn't claim to be an incredible flyer, but he knew he'd done a good job in his lessons last year. He could only hope that was enough.

"Helloo," he called to the captain with a huge smile, "Rudolf Lagowski, trying out for seeker." From what Rudolf could gather, there was already both a seeker and an alternate seeker on the team, but he didn't see the harm in trying out anyway. If he failed this year, he could easily return the next. He mounted his broom and kicked off, flying a full lap of the pitch as the captain had requested before heading up above the other players to look out for snitches. He flew this way and that for a good hour before he even caught sight of one, and was just considering giving up when a glint of gold flashed in the corner of his eye. Rudolf leant forward and sped towards it with fierce determination, and though he had to chase it around the pitch for ten whole minutes, he eventually caught it. Tired from the exertion, the Gryffindor came back down to land and handed the snitch in. "Thanks!" he said, and then hurried back to the castle before he missed lunch.

Last season had been terrible got Gryffindor and more so for James who had to sit on the sidelines and watch while his team got pummeled in every game they played. When James arrived at the Quidditch pitch he was not surprised to learn that everyone had to try out again and that no one was safe. It didn't make a difference to James as he had been an alternate and knew he would have to try out again regardless. James was happy to see that Skye was still co captain of the team, she kept a much cooler head than Lowan did last season and even led the team on a couple of occasions when Lowan wasn't playing.

"James Cade, alternate last year once again trying for seeker," James knew his friend and dorm mate Rudolf was also trying out a seeker which would either make this a friendly rivalry between the two second years or it would make things a little awkward. No matter, with two older experienced seekers ahead of them no doubt they would be both be alternates if they made the team. James mounted his broom and took off in search of the snitch. James Adams always made this look so easy during practice and he himself had always managed to do it himself in his previous tryout and during practice. He scanned the skies looking for even the faintest hint of a gold streak. He saw something in the corner of his eye and he leaned forward and shot across the pitch, he weaved through the stands giving chase to the golden ball. Finally, he was able to outstretch his hand and pull the snitch into his hand. He made his way down to the ground choosing not the celebrate, there was a lot of work ahead.

Archie was annoyed at the reception Lowan had given the Gryffindors and did not understand why the entire team had no guaranteed places. Gryffindor definitely had not played their best during the previous season but Archie figured the year was not a total loss when they managed to scrape a win during their last game. He shot Ailsa a confused look before he mounted his broom and flew into the air, immediately taking a spot in front of the nearest hoops. He tried out to the best of his ability considering how annoyed he was and managed to save many of the shots that were thrown his way. The hours of practice he put in during the holidays were certainly paying off and Archie was proud of himself when he touched back down to the ground and waited for Lowan's decision.

Matt Greene could not believe that he was going to go try out, again, for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Sighing, he arrived on the pitch, only to find out that no one’s spot was guaranteed from the previous year. Matt didn’t think that it was fair, but then again, things were confusing enough when he and James were both named seeker. Instead, he figured that he would at least try. Matt approached the captains, before he stated in a very cool tone, “Matt Greene, trying for chaser this time.” Maybe if he went for another position, he might actually get to play this time. Let James keep the seeker spot to himself. Matt mounted the broom, and soared around the pitch a few times for the laps, before grabbing a quaffle. He headed up toward the hoops, and started to practice. He was not about to let someone get in his way of enjoying his time on the quidditch pitch. He managed to make a few goals in, but some were blocked. It was a little obvious that being a chaser was not in his best suit, but he hoped that he managed well enough.

Hemi wasn't particularly keen on flying, but he heard that the Gryffindor Quidditch tryouts were happening today and he thought to go along and give it a go regardless of his experiences flying a broomstick. He just wanted to be on the Quidditch team, but if he didn't get it he wouldn't be overly disappointed, he'd simply tryout again next year. He approached the captain and introduced himself, "Hemi Te Rua, trying out for beater."

He mounted his broom and grabbed a bat, slipping it under his arm until he needed it. He did a lap of the pitch as fast as he could, familiarising himself with how to keep a broomstick balanced as it had been a good few months since he'd last flown. After his lap he headed over to the beaters and begun whacking any bludger which came his way. He missed a few at first, and almost slid off his broom after a particularly hard whack. Eventually, after a few attempts, he started to get the hang of it, managing to hit a number of targets, celebrating to himself each time he did. He hit several before deciding that was enough and made his way back to the ground to find out how he'd done.

Lowan was glad that skye didn't want to add anything. and was a little surprised when she went up to try out. she was his co-captain, an equal not beneath him in rank. he may have been running the team longer but she was still valued in its running. Logan was also surprised by some of the reactions of other people. he wasn't planning on kicking out any of the long standing members. he had just picked up too many new members last year. so many he had gotten in trouble for it, besides the let everyone play hadn't worked out. not everyone had had a game at the end of the year, and the whole everyone is welcome thing didn't work anyway. as much as he didn't want to kick people off the team. he needed to make sure the people he chose would work together and be able to play to each others strengths so they had a good strong team to take to games, and they could focus their training on specific skills not as much a general training that they had needed last year for the newer players. he made a list of everyone who was there so as to remember what position they wanted. he was actually a little surprised at how well it formed a team. other than having multiple people trying for seeker it was a perfect fit, he was used to having to try and convince people to play their second choice of position this year it looked good "you are all going great guys." he called.

the captain waited until he was sure no-one else was going to come before he took his broom. he hadn't planned on trying out but with skye in the sky too he thought why not have a spin. and headed up to the sky hitting a few bludgers around and watching those try out.

Falon Urie was feeling anxious. Sure, she had flown before, and had made sure she practiced when she could, but she didn't think she was up to scratch with the other people trying out, or the previous team members. Falon wanted to be a beater, but the captain and co-captain were in that position so she didn't think she'd get it. Still, it couldn't hurt to try, and she would be happy with Keeper as well or even chaser, and as an alternate. She didn't really have a strong point, but was willing to work hard to be better at one of them.
Falon took her new-ish broom with her to the try-outs, and took to the skies with the rest of the students. First, she took a bat with her, and swung hard at the bludger flying towards her. She hadn't managed to get it to go the direction she wanted it to, but at least she hit it! Falon continued for a bit, whacking bludgers, some going too wide, and others going where she wanted them to go. She was proud of herself for those ones. After a bit of hitting, Falon took to the hoops, and tried to stop the other try-outs from scoring. She didn't stay stationary, she kept looping around them, keeping her eyes on whoever had the Quaffle. As it was bound to go, the first few went in. Falon tried to not let it disappoint her, or throw her off, and finally success came to the brunette as she managed to save a few throws.
After saving some more hoops, Falon took around the Pitch, showing her speed. She then joined the rest of the chaser try-outs, and made sure she played fair, giving others a turn to handle the Quaffle as well as shooting a few hoops as well.
When it was all over, Falon landed, tired but happy with her efforts, and waited for the Captain to give the team list.

Zachery Evams made his way down to the Quidditch pitch because he really needed to be on the team again this year. Altough last year didn't went well for the Gryffindor team, it was fun and exciting. Zach ran onto the pitch, his scarlett robes dangling besides him as he ran, and approached the team. ''Hi!'' Zachery beamed and knew that his hair was a mess, and his robes were not fastened completely. He held his beater's bat to the side. After telling Lowan that he was going to try out for the same position, Zachery gripped his broom and his bat and he hoped that he could make the team again this year.

The seventh year kicked himself off the ground and shot up into the air, one hand holding his broom tight and the other hand clutching his beater's bat. After flying the lap as fast as he could, Zach flew over to the other beater's and started hitting the bludgers that came his way. He did not hit every bludger that was send his way but still managed to do pretty good. When the try outs were over, Zachery landed besides Lowan and Skye, waiting eagerly for the new team list.

soon loan decided he had seen enough of the try out to be able to make a decision. he singled to skye to see if she thought the same then he blow the whistle to signal to everyone to land.
Once on the floor he smiles. he was glad there weren't as many people trying out as there had been last year. "okay guys. great tryout. yo've given us a hard time pickin' the team. the list 'll be posted on the common room noticeboard toni't." he said looking around. he had formed his own idea of who would be on the team. he just needed to check with skye if she agreed. there were some players who were obvious choices who had been on the team for years. but other positions it was tougher to decide who would be a main player and who would be alternate as he had been told last year he had to have the alternates back and couldn't have a team of 12 with no alternates.
