Aroha couldn't believe it. After this long - after this completely fruitless search - the snitch was in her hand. She displayed it triumphantly but tiredly, a weariness in he body despite the relief.
Teddy was so relieved that Aroha caught the snitch. His team seemed drained though, especially Felix. Teddy blew his whistle. "Alright everyone, take five, get some water and we'll resume after!"
Aroha let out a breath of air she hadn't known she'd been holding, and came back down to the ground. She was a little dizzy from the excitement of actually catching the snitch - though she could only imagine how Felix felt. He'd been in the same boat as her for the majority of the practice. "Next one's got your name on it," she called out to him, hoping that was encouraging. It's how she meant it, after all.
The moment Aroha caught the snitch he could have sworn. He knew it had been just as difficult for her too but Felix had grown frustrated. How long had it been? An hour? He flew to the ground as Teddy called a time out, glad for the break and to get some water. Glancing up at Aroha as she tried to encourage him, he gave the older girl a small nod although he didn't believe it. "At least one of us can catch," he replied, "well done." He was glad for her, he'd known it was hard. He was just disappointed in himself, too.
Felix wiped his brow, not realising just how sweaty he'd gotten while in the sky. He dropped the bottle of water back on the bench, trying to released the tension he'd been holding in his shoulders. "Come on, the snitch isn't going to catch itself," he reminded them, keen to make the most of the practise session. Then again, maybe at this rate, it would.
Ivy turned when she heard a cheer and saw her friend had caught the snitch. It wasnt long afte that that teddy called a time out she went to the ground. She walked over to Aroha "nice Catch. I was starting to think the snitch was still in the case" she said going to give her a high five. she then went over to the bench and got herself some water.
Aroha gave Felix a smile that was a little weary on the edges. She then returned Ivy's hi-five, thanking her for her support. "I swear someone must've jinxed the snitch or something," Aroha said, not putting it past Slytherin. She then walked over towards Fiona. "Good going out there," she said to her.
Teddy grabbed his water bottle and listened to the chat. "You haven't given up and that's good." He said to Felix then took a sip of water, "The snitch is being particularly elusive today, but keep trying. You only have to catch it once to win a game." He put his water bottle down then said to the whole team, "Right, if everyone is ready, let's get back out there for part two."
Felix nodded at Teddy, glad that he didn't seem to think badly of him at least for not catching it yet. Bracing himself, the fourth year mounted his broom again and kicked back off into the sky.
Victoria had been following Miles when something suddenly slammed into her shoulder. Ouch! She snapped her head to the right to see one of the balls fly away from her. A bludger had hit her and she did not like the feeling. She bit her lip for a second and was glad to hear Teddy call out for a water break. At least that meant she could relax for a second. She lingered for a second before flying down to the ground and making sure to hydrate. Once practice continued she grabbed the quaffle, keen to keep trying.
(not me reacting to a bludger hit three days later oops)
