Isaiah had good hopes for quidditch this year. He felt like he had really gotten the hang of being captain last year and he was confident that this would finally be Gryffindor's year. Surely it would be. It was also hard not to notice how popular the Gryffindor team always seemed to be. Even if they hadn't won the cup in years. But perhaps that was just that Gryffindor enthusiasm. This year had been no different. Try-outs had been busy and it had caused him to make some difficult decisions. Ones he had made with the best interest of the team in mind and definitely ones he stood by, but difficult ones nonetheless. Such was the fate of a captain.

Shrugging off a bit of the seriousness Zay looked around, making sure everything was ready for their first practice of the year as he waited for the team to arrive. When they had all joined him on the pitch he shot them a wide grin. "Hey guys, welcome back to another year of quidditch!" He greeted them. "And a special welcome to our newest members, Rāwhiti and Timothy." He added, motioning towards the two new alternates. "We've got plenty to do and I trust you all know what to do so I won't waste any time by giving a speech of some sorts. Chasers, I know you're keen to steal and that's good practice but I also want to see you working together." Zay nodded towards the chasers. He knew they were all capable, knew they were solid players. They were just missing some teamwork and he needed them to show that. "With that said, let's get going. This is going to be our year gang!"

OOCOut of Character:
No arrivals necessary, let's dive right in!

Gryffindor,Practice

Soren arrived at practice, tossing a smile to Aurora before jumping into the air, grabbing the quaffle and heading around towards their Keeper.

Evie was more than ready for the first practice session of the year for Quidditch. She needed to get all of her energy out after meditating so often for her animagus training. The teen gathered around as Isaiah spoke to them all, and then was quick to head into the skies as he told everyone to start. She immediately headed for the hoops on the far end, keeping a close eye on Soren as he took the quaffle first.

Content that everyone knew what to do Zay hopped onto his broom and got into the air.

Tim was happy to make it to the team, so he just took air and tried his search for bludgers.

Soren smirked when he made the goal, tossing a playful wink and blowing a kiss to the keeper before moving out of the way.

Zee was more than happy to be back on the Quidditch Pitch. Of course, she had some practice during the try outs, but nothing actually beat a real practice. The team did need it. They hadn't won the cup in what felt like forever. This had to be the year though. Zee mounted her broom and flew right into the air, wasting no time. Soren was able to grab the quaffle first. She flew near him, watching as he made a goal. She smiled. That was a good start.

Zee waited for the keeper to throw the quaffle back into play. Zee grabbed it quickly as she tucked it under her arm. She flew towards the opposite goal posts, hoping to be as successful as the previous chaser this early on in practice.

So far, he wasn't the luckiest guy on the pitch but he definitely cheered as Soren made it through the hoops.

Zee did not see anyone near her. That was a good feeling. She aimed at the goal, watching as the quaffle soared through. She cheered happily, pumping her arm into the air. This was a good start. Maybe this would be Gryffindor's year.

Isaiah chased after a bludger.

Tim chased bludgers as well.

Elara was ready, and she knew she could help the Gryffindor team win the cup this year. Smiling at Zay as he made his little speech, she took the air searching for the snitch.

Louis frowned in frustration as Zephyr immediately managed to score. He couldn´t let her get all the glory. He grabbed the quaffle once it was thrown back into play and tucked it under his arm, flying away from the hoops.

Aurora got on to her broom and shot up into the air, keen to make a mark on this practice. THough her first few attempts to hit anything missed. She cheered for Soren but was mostly focused on herself, and trying to hit bludgers.

Zee was still rather pleased that she had made the goal. Yet she couldn't let it go to her head. It was still early. She watched as Louis grabbed the quaffle. She flew close to him, not that she thought he would pass it anyway. But the captain did say that he wanted more teamwork with the chasers. She wanted to at least put in the effort, kind of.

Louis flew back up to the hoops and grinned as he managed to score. He turned to Zephyr. "We're even now." He challenged.

Zee rolled her eyes at Louis's goal and even more so at his comment. God he was such annoying. At least he managed to score so he was good for something. She composed herself as she once again took the quaffle as it was thrown into play, looking for any other chaser to pass it to as she flew towards the other goal post.

Elara watched the game from above, looking for the gold sparkle among the clouds.

Aurora missed the bludger she was aiming for. pretty disappointed in herself for hitting nothing yet.

Zee didn't see anyone around her to pass to. She decided to attempt a goal. She aimed carefully, missing the hoop slightly. Cursing under her breath, she knew she would get it next time.

Aurora missed the bludger she was aiming for.

Zay hit the bludger he had been chasing and send it flying for @Elara Chatelain, mouthing a 'sorry' immediately after. He knew that was the risk of their positions and she did as well but he still felt a little quilty every time he send a bludger flying her way.

Elara was minding her own business when her boyfriend decided to hit a bludger at her. Grimacing, she mouthed back “it’s okay” and tried to shake it off.

Evie frowned as she failed to block the first couple of shots. Soren's playful attitude made her feel a little bit better though. And as the chaser finally missed the hoop, Evie caught the quaffle and threw it back into play.

Elara tossled her hair before pulling it up tight into a bun. With it being so long, it was hard to keep it in place for long, but she forgot to do braids for practice. For a moment, she thought she saw something amongst the clouds, but nothing came of it. Glacing over at Raawhiti, she knew she had to catch the first snitch. Hopefully.
