Gryffindor Quidditch Practice S1/Y48

Milo knows he can't reach the snitch but maybe he can delay Aroha, shooting forward as fast as he can and trying to swerve in front of her, hoping to cut her off.

Teddy was getting a lot of quaffles thrown at him, he blocked another one of Veronica's attempts to score then threw the ball back out again.

Milo took a chance as he swerved in front of Aroha to make a grab for the snitch, irritated as it danced out of reach.

Rule 2a.

Veronica was starting to get frustrated by her own inability to score. She caught the quaffle again as Teddy threw it out for one of his own chasers and was able to make a quick shot on goal but it once again missed.

Teddy was kind of happy Veronica wasn't scoring. He caught the quaffle and threw it back out.

Milo steadied his broom, wedging himself up against Aroha as they were neck and neck, though the way the snitch was moving, he was worried he was going to lose sight of it if he wasn't careful.

Aroha was getting frustrated, but she was determined to get the snitch. Her concentration waned slightly, and she lost sight of the snitch for a moment. She paused, falling behind somewhat.

Milo checked over his shoulder when Aroha slowed, grinning in triumph as he turned to continue tailing the snitch. His face quickly fell when he realized it must have shot away while he was gloating. Dang hubris, he thought sourly.

Teddy hovered in front of the middle hoop but most of his attention was taken up watching the seekers. He was slightly concerned that neither of them had caught the snitch yet, he hoped they wouldn't struggle this much on match day.

Aroha scoured the skies for where the snitch might have gone. Oh, there - she thought she saw the familiar sparkle of gold and shot off in chase of it.

Milo was checking the pitch as best he could but had to jump into action sight unseen when he saw Aroha on the move. He'd just have to hope he caught sight of whatever she did on the way.

Santiago swung and missed.

Miro was trying to make himself useful, but it seemed the bludgers that day had different ideas and as he reached to hit one it went off course, flying far out of the pitch as if it was making fun of him. Miro frowned and tried to keep his cool as he flew in search of another bludger to hit.

Milo lost some ground with Aroha as he watched Miro hit a bludger into no one, glad at least it hadn't come anywhere near him.

Aroha narrowed in, getting closer and closer to the snitch once more, but remaining out of reach. She looked over briefly to keep an eye on Milo. That neither of them had gotten the snitch yet was a tad bit embarrassing but at least she still had opportunity to come out the victor.

2b I think technically

Alicia got her hands on the quaffle and moved closer to the hoops.

Santiago saw another bludger and swung his bat. As tempted as he was to send one at Milo again he decided to make sure their other seeker didn't feel left out and aimed for her instead. @Aroha Blenheim

Rose continued to guard the hoops, watching the play intently.

Alicia attempted to score, but Teddy blocked it again. She let out a sigh.

Milo let out an offended noise when he saw the flurry of movement that indicated a bludger headed his way. Thankfully he was able to keep clear, feeling vindicated as it knocked into Aroha this time.

Aroha got hit by a bludger, but somehow it actually pushed her forward, her hand opening at just the right moment and there - there - she had it in her palm. The golden snitch. "Yes!!" she cried out. "Take that!" She smiled good-natured at Milo, but she was clearly pleased with herself.

Santiago swung but missed, again.

Milo was still dying the beaters when he saw Aroha shoot forward, realizing too late he couldn’t close the gap before she got there. She’d seen it first and got to it first. “Good catch,” he said reluctantly. “Let’s see you do it again though,” he challenged. Rāwhiti had been such a mess to play with maybe Milo could benefit from having an actual rival on the team with Aroha.

Aroha smirked. "I'll do it again, easy. But good work, you nearly had me for a second," she admitted, acknowledging Milo's skill on the broom. She let go of the snitch, letting it fly and giving it a headstart.

Milo’s laugh might have been more of a scoff but still it seemed like they were on now. He let the snitch disappear for a moment before kicking off, trying to put some distance between him and Aroha (and the beaters).
