Graduation 2038: Spectators and Guests

[Professor Cyndi Kingsley]

Professor Kingsley sat with the other professors, watching as the ceremony unfolded. This year had felt especially long with the elections and the death of her best friend's husband. To say that Cyndi was ready for a break was an understatement. Smiling as the Head Boy finished with his speech, the Gryffindor Head of House clapped along with the others. She was very proud of him and knew that he would do great in life.

As the speeches ended and students began to accept their diplomas, Cyndi clapped for each of them. This had been a good bunch and she knew that the school was better off for them having been a part of it.

Rhiannon headed to the great hall. graduation was the last big even of the year before the end of year feast. this was the first year she had been allowed to attend as she had been named prefect. A roll she was proud of. she was glad that the was able to attend this ceromony as this was the first year she really had friends in the graduating class. the first of her friends she saw was tybalt. she smiled. although she was practically dating perseas now there was still a special part in her for tybalt, her first crush, the boy who had been willing to dance with a nervous first year despite being a third year and her being uncool. he had cirtainly been one of the key people guiding her through the school. She listened to his, and the headgirls speech and clapped they were both good speeches, eloquent and they did not drag on. next came the presentation of dilomas where each student passed accross the stage. she collaped each of them graduating was a huge achievement. she colapped extra hard for the hufflepuffs who she had come to know from the late nights study in the commonroom when everyone else was asleep. and for tybalt of course. the next person who crossed the stage was someone she had forgotten to graduate. Ferdenand, the HM editor. she had forgotten he was leaving this year. HM wouldnt be the same without him. she wondered who would be the next editor? there were actually quite a lot of prominent people leaving this year. heads of different clubs and the like. soon the ceremony was over and the graduates went and mingled with their families, friends and teachers. Rhiannon also got up and headed towards the crowd. congratulating as many people as she could and wishing them luck. when she found tybalt she smiled letting his family finish what they were saying before giving him a quick hug "Congratulations Ty. and I am sure you will have a great life. Thank you for everything this last few years and i hope to see you again soon" she said before leaving him to share this special day with his family. while she headed slowly meandering out of the room and up to club academia where she had set up study camp for her muggle exams.

 

[Professor Elvera Le Fey]

class of 2938. what a prominent year they had had to graduate in. so many things had happened, some good like the ministry election, some bad like the death of the head auror. but whichever way it was presented they were going into a brand new world that was still only just finding its feet. this was the kind of world that could bend to their influences be them positive or negative compared to previous and future years who had to bend themselves to fit the sorent flow of events. for elvera she had not seen a group with such opportunity graduate and she had seen a lot of graduations, this would be her ninth if she remembered correctly. the first had been her own exactly ten years ago, then she had missed a year but had seen almost every other one except for one year when she had been in the dark space. she watched how close these classmates were, listening to the head boy and head girls speeches. clapping them both politely. then as each student passed the stage she wondered where each of the students would be in ten years time though she forced herself not to look. and from that thought she wondered where her classmates were now. some of them she knew, eden was traveling again. Kida was a professional quidditch player and married to the man she loved (not that she was bitter about it). hoshi was living it up somewhere after going through many trials. Aeon was of course still in the castle teaching transfiguration. she saw beths name pop up in the daily prophet but she hadn't spoken to the girl since graduation, no before. and many of the other people she had no clue about. and thinking the other way in another ten years her daughters would be here sitting under the sorting hat. and with that she drew herself to the hear and now watching the last few people cross the stage. as the ceremony was closed the hum of the growd started and grew. Elvera got to her feet and wandered around the hall wishing congratulations and good luck to the graduates, greeting the parents and some older students at the school.
