Graduation 2036: Spectators and Guests
OOCOut of Character:
Here is the area for invited guests, staff, professors and prefects to post while at the graduation. Please be reminded that you are also invited to start separate RPs that take place after the graduation. :)

Tybalt had never attended a graduation before. He'd not been at his old school at the time they'd had theirs, and he'd simply not needed to continue with school while he had first been in New Zealand, so as a fifth year student, who'd just finished his exams, he was watching the graduation of those two years above him. He smiled as he took his seat, wearing his Gryffindor uniform with pride, the prefect badge pinned on it. He was incredibly happy with how the year was gone, they'd lost all but one quidditch match, and he'd perhaps let his duties to the club slip but he was happy. This year had gone well, and the teen was feeling pretty hopeful about the OWLs he'd just sat. He was smiling to himself when the headmistresses got up and briefly said a few words handing then over to the head girl and head boy. Despite having been a prefect, he hadn't really known the pair very well. He knew that it was a lot of responsibility and he respected them for it a lot, but he wished he'd had more time to get to know them. He glanced at his hands as both spoke, listening closely, laughing at the appropriate moments and finding himself thinking about how his time at Hogwarts was almost over. he'd come a long way so far, and he was sure that he'd continue to do well. He didn't all to many friends, but he was looking forward to graduating and moving on with his life as much as he was looking forward to his final two years at Hogwarts.

Once the two speeches were over, Tybalt glanced back up as the headmistress began the procession. It felt like first year all over again, he imagined. You got up in front of a crowd like this, twice in your life. Once when you first arrive, and once when you leave. He smiled at the thought. Clapping along with the others in the crowd when the names of the students were called. The gryffindor teen could hardly think about what was going threw the heads of the graduates. Just what they might be thinking. What might be running through their heads. He tried to not feel sentimental about this, after all, this was not his graduation, and he didn't really know any of these people, but it felt hard at times. He was sure that when it got to his turn, he would probably end up crying. Hogwarts had really become his entire world. He knew almost nothing else. It had become his home after he'd been in a sort of middle spot between coming from America to New Zealand. This school had brought him so much. So much which he was ever thankful for. Tybalt smiled as he thought, he smiled at the students, who were about to head off into the world. He couldn't help but feel proud of them, despite not knowing any of them. Tybalt found that this graduation was officially marking the big wind down to his own. Ty wanted to achieve a few more things before he left this school.

Stepping into the Great Hall for the graduation ceremony, Preston could feel the weight of the event. He'd never given much thought to what graduating with a wizarding degree would mean, but as he made his way to his seat, the thoughts ran through his mind. As he glanced over at the graduates, Preston wondered what each one of them planned to do. He didn't know what he planned to do yet, and as hr thought about the little he'd done this year, he realized that he had to start getting serious about things. He didn't know many of the graduates, only the Slytherins and the prefects. And even those he didn't know too well. But, he still knew of them, having seen many of them in the halls. Several of them had left legacies behind. Preston wanted that fate too. He wanted to leave behind a legacy of some sort.

When the ceremony began, Preston listened carefully, this being the first graduation he'd attended as a guest. At first, it was interesting. The Head Girl's speech was short, and judging by the Head Boy's comment, that wasn't common. The Head Boy's speech was interesting, and, had he not been a pureblood jerk, Preston might have pursued a friendship with the guy. He didn't know why he was so drawn to people who were purebloods when he very much wasn't one. It was terrible that he had to base who he made friends with by their blood, but it was being done to him first. While the students continued the trek across the stage to receive their diplomas, Preston's gaze began to wander to the guests. It wasn't very common to have outsiders in the school. The boy recognized an old student or two as well as people whose children looked so much like them that it was easy to guess who they were here for. As the ceremony finally came to a close, Preston clapped along with everyone else and stood up. That had been interesting.

Hailey Mckay was a woman who rarely smiled. She smiled even less since the death of her husband, not that anyone noticed. As a recent widow, Hailey was still in mourning and when it came to her Granddaughter's Graduation, she concluded that dark clothing would be her friend. However, as Hailey never wore black, the traditional colours of her family were Grey, it was for this reason that she was wearing a grey suit to one of her granddaughters graduations. She was not terribly thrilled about this arrangement, but there was very little that she could do. She had to at least be able to be seen publicly supporting her blood, even if she did shun the stupid girl behind closed doors. She supposed she should have put her foot down from the start, but then the girl was not Isla, Isla was her heir. She cared very little about the rest of the children. She did love them, that was true enough, she just happened to love Isla more. She had no doubt that soon Isla would be expecting a baby and when that happened, Hailey would be more the overjoyed. She had few great grandchildren that she got too see. Not that she really cared all that much for her current grandchildren, the filthy product of her mentally ill grandchildren defiling themselves with muggles, muggleborns and altogether houses less then worthy of a Mckay heir.

Turning to see that her heir and favourite was by her side, Hailey turned her attention to the stage. She cared very little for Kialla or her siblings and so being surrounded by a bunch of them in this moment was less then appealing. Soon the ceremony, or whatever they wished to call this started and Hailey found herself both annoyed and downright appalled at the quality of either of the speeches. The girl's was short, unrehearsed and downright disrespectful to the establishment. Whilst Hailey held no love of these halls, she was glad that she had raised her family better then the sloppy thing currently residing over the students. It had a few good points, but overall Hailey wanted to leave her seat and smack some sense into the girl, because clearly, she had not been taught the proper etiquette. Benjamin Chase was next and Hailey found herself scrutinizing the young friend of her granddaughters with an interested eye. For one, she had absolutely no idea about what he was like away from her home and two, he looked relatively decent so she had hoped that he would be more interesting. However she had been sorely mistaken. Regardless of the fact that she was sure he had been taught the appropriate way to address a crowd and speak, he seemed to either not care to use it, or was just being a dunce. Starting with a joke such as that and then breaking into colloquialisms. She was now extremely glad Kialla had not made headgirl, she would have killed Kialla for embarrassing the family like that, bad enough as two wayward children were, three was even worse. Never-the-less as Kialla walked across the stage to receive her certificates of graduation, Hailey gave a few short claps. After all, the girl had survived the school relatively unscathed, so she must have done something right.

Isla Jacobs was happy to be at Hogwarts New Zealand. With her husband and Grandmother beside her, she would be seeing the graduation of her sister Kialla. Isla was far from dense, she was intelligent and wise beyond her years. She could quite easily tell that Kialla didn't like being at the manor and so she had influenced Hailey as well as she could to allow Kialla to go to Hogwarts in New Zealand. Isla had hoped that it would help bring Kialla out of her shell and for the most part it seemed to have worked. Isla understood the strain on her family, but unlike her siblings, Isla knew how to handle Hailey. Now she just had to wait for Hailey to hand over the reigns and she could get to work. Of course Hailey was in very good health however, so it was very likely that Isla would be waiting a very long time.

The ceremony started and Isla crossed her legs and positioned her hand on William's thigh. He wasn't a big talker or anything, but that made Isla's job much easier, because she didn't have to listen to him. Not to mention he spent a lot of time in his job so she was often alone, but she didn't mind that either. Isla ignored the speeches, because she was not here for them. She was here for Kialla. Nodding at her sister as she stood up to walk across the stage, Isla waved at her and smiled. She was glad that her sister had managed to graduate. It certainly made her very happy.

Isabella Dragonov walked, well, more like wabbled, into the Great Hall. She used to go to this school, but now, she was watching her younger brother graduate. Next year, the youngest of the Romanes siblings would be attending, and no one knew which house he would go in. The four siblings went into different houses each. Isabella herself was a former Slytherin. Resting her hand on her overly large stomach, Isabella sat down next to Ostensia. Her sister was back with Damian, thankfully. When Isabella heard about her shacking up with Professor Prodan Zhefarovich, she nearly lost it. However, all was well. She leaned over and whispered to her sister, "Sergios looks great in his robes. By the way, never get pregnant." Isabella was raging mad at first when she found out she was pregnant, but now, she accepted the idea of having a son. She checked up on the gender, and the son was due next month. He already dropped, so she could not wait to get her porker out of her. Isabella Pisces' speech was something else, and so was the head boy's. She clapped before she really did when she saw Sergios walk across the stage.

Ostensia was so proud of her little brother right now! It seemed like just yesterday that he was coming into the school and getting sorted into Gryffindor. Now he was Graduating as a Prefect! "He looks so cute! Is it just me, or have you noticed the way he keeps looking at Head Girl. Do you think Sergios has a crush?" Ostensia had no idea that her little brother actually had a girlfriend or that he was going to be a father soon. Speaking of being a parent, Ostensia had to admit that she was a bit heated and jealous that her sister was pregnant. In fact the first time she heard about it, Ostensia went back to her school days where she felt like she was always second when it came to her sister and how well they did at school. Now it might have been because she and Damian broke apart, or they just weren't ready, but the point was that she was jealous because her sister had beat her at having children. Frowning at her sister's comment, she spoke softly "Not gong to happen anyways. I keep asking Damian if we can have a baby and he he keeps telling me no." Ostensia told her sister. Clearly by the look on her face, one could see that she was a bit unhappy. She loved Damian with all of her heart, but she was currently suffering through baby fever and he was telling her no. How rude.

When her brother went up to get his diploma, Ostensia clapped and cheered for him. She was so proud! She couldn't wait until after the ceremony when she could hug him and congratulate him personally. Plus she could then also bother him about the goo goo eyes he had been making to that girl. She couldn't help but be nosy, what had her brother been up to since she and Isabella had Graduated? Once the ceremony was over with, Osa nudged her sister and motioned that they were going to go find Sergios. There was no way he was going to leave without getting a hug or two from his older sister's.

Ai stepped quite nervously into the Great Hall. While it was true that she wasn't among the ones graduating, next year she wouldn't be attending graduation as a guest and a prefect. She'd be attending as a graduate and she had to admit that now she knew what Ryuuji-niisan had felt years ago. She considered Hogwarts her home now after she decided to not go back to Japan for years. The Puff shook her head, deciding that it was not really the proper time to have such thoughts. She'll cross the bridge when she gets there. For now though, all she had to do was attend graduation, watch quietly, clap her hands when needed, look around if she wanted to and finally, go back to her room. It's not like much was expected from the prefects anyway when it was graduation. Most of the spotlight were on the Head Girl and Head Boy and the rest of the graduates.

As soon as the ceremony began, Ai listened as Isabella started her speech, which didn't take long. Well, it wasn't a yearly thing but she knew that there would be no problem about that, especially since Benjamin's speech lasted long enough to cover both of them. Ai could still remember meeting both of them. While she hadn't met Isabella too formally, they did play Quidditch against each other every year. And well, meeting Benjamin wasn't a very good memory. She could still remember them fighting at the time and Ai, maybe attempting to throw a shoe or too at the guy. But then again, past is past. Most of the other graduates were familiar faces to the Puff as well and she merely smiled proudly as she watched them receive their diplomas. Soon enough, the ceremony was over and she clapped her hands along with everyone before she left the Great Hall to get some rest.

Coming here as a guest was felt so odd. Victoria was a student of the school and since this was a rather private ceremony, she felt special to be included in such a thing. This was the first ever graduation she attended in her entire life and well, it was safe to say she was already producing a stream of tears for Benjamin. Victoria always had this soft, sensitive side to her when it came to people leaving what they had become used to and right now, she was witnessing the whole bunch of seventh years having their last look at the castle before officially leaving as a graduate. She started tearing up when the Head Girl, Isabella, did her speech. It was short and rather curt, but Victoria sensed there was some truth to it. She was a good player of the Slytherin team even though Victoria rarely got to see her in action on the field. Amateur Quidditch was not her thing. Professional Quidditch however, was another story to hear. Next up was the Head Boy, who was her older brother that she most of the time hated because of his guts. Victoria knew she was being ridiculous in being so sentimental even if this was not her graduation to begin with but, she could not help it. She was a sucker for things like this and really, she wondered if she could produce double of the tears she managed to squeeze out of her eyes today for her own, future graduation. When both of the Head Students were done, she knew this was it. She clapped and sniffed to herself because honestly, she was being so ridiculous. Vee had to say she was pretty fascinated that they managed to devote their lives to Hogwarts for seven straight years without having to drop out and come back again for the next school year. Victoria wondered if she could finish school flawlessly. Well, she thought she would have to see to it herself, wouldn't she?
