It had been a while since elvera had any amount of free time. Despite having sold her shop, but since Selene had returned to teaching, she had also taken over the majority of the caring duties for her mother, whose health was rapidly deteriorating. Today, however, was not only a lovely afternoon. It was also the autumn equinox, and a day she had some time for herself. and she had decided she was well overdue catching up with her friends.
She had spent the morning at home in the kitchen baking scones, little goodies, and making sandwiches. had now found a nice spot in the garden, a table under a pergola covered in jasmine and roses. She set the area up with a nice tablecloth and cake stands, set up for a traditional afternoon tea. and of course several teapots brewing an assortment of teas charmed to not oversteep or go cold. She helped herself to a cream cheese and cucumber sandwich as she waited to see who would be first to arrive.

Gabrielle was feeling a little pleased with herself for how she'd conducted herself in the dueling tournament, and even better when she'd recieved an invitation for an afternoon tea hosted by Elvera. Perhaps it was part of seeing her ex get married and be happy, but Gabrielle figured it really was past time that she made more of an effort in friendship. She wasn't looking to follow Stephen's footsteps, but there was probably something to having at least platonic companionship.

Having an afternoon off (we'll, there was grading to do but it could wait until after - the students would appreciate her grading on a full stomach she was sure), she'd slipped into comfortable casual clothes sans work robes and headed down to the garden, hesitating slightly when she was early. Then she remembered she was far too old for that sort of behaviour. "Good afternoon," she said, raising a hand in greeting. "This looks lovely. How are you?" Small talk had never come naturally to her, but by Merlin's beard she intended to try.

Mallory was absolutely delighted to be invited to a tea party. She spent ages picking out the perfect outfit for it. She pulled her hair up into a messy bun, slipping a blue ribbon and a little sprig of babys breath in her hair. Her pregnancy was getting a little further along, but she wasn't going to let that stop her. Thankfully the morning sickness wasn't very bad this time. She did grab a baby blue knit shawl on her way out of her office though, in case she got too cold.

She was surprised when she'd finally waddled down to find she was one of the first to arrive. "Hello, ladies," She greeted with a happy smile, joining the women. "Thank you so much for the invitation, Elvera. It's so nice to see you both," She told them, smiling brightly at Gabrielle and Elvera in turn.

[[sorry for not replying to this.]]
Elvera looked around as she saw someone approaching and smiled when she saw who it was, Gabrielle. "Hello Gabrielle., im glad you could make it" she said honestly pleased that she didnt have to eat all the food on her own. well that wouldnt be the end of the world, and if it was she would just take it to her class. she smiled at the compliment. "thank you. I've been well, I just thought it had been a while since we did anyhting just to socialise. how are you?" she said. and was just about to offer her to sit down when someone else arrived. "Hello Mallory. welcome, oh, i'm glad you could make it. how are you going?" she said. she knew the lady was pregnant, and she had been working alongisde the charms professor for long enough now that she did feel a slight motherly instinct to her. "please take a seat and tuck in. can i get either of you some tea or water?" she asked
