Zennon hadn’t intended to attend Valentine’s Day, after he’d delivered his roses he was quite sure he was going to laze around in the common rooms or up in the dorms until classes were resuming. He’d been avoiding Sam a little bit, he’d been considering his feelings for her and though he never really felt like he was in love with her, he was too young to understand all that business, he was now beginning to feel like there wasn’t much spark there. He enjoyed her company certainly, but since Christmas he’d been feeling like being her boyfriend was more of out of duty to her rather than actually wanting to do it. It wasn’t a nice feeling if he were honest, but he had no one he could really talk to about it. He barely saw Jake anymore, he was off doing quidditch things and whatever else and it was impossible to talk to him in class at all. Analei was happy with her boyfriend and probably wouldn’t get it, not to mention he was sure she was a bit off with him since the stuff with Arvel before Halloween. Gwen was all but MIA and Sapphire seemed like she had her own problems. Leda was the only person really and since she was dealing with Olive’s death at the moment, he didn’t want to bring her down with his problems and the twins were absolutely out of the question. So that meant he didn’t really have anyone to talk to at the moment, it all seemed kind of crazy. There were all of these people in his life and yet he’d never felt more alone. So when Leda had essentially dragged him to the hall and made him attend, he’d almost been greatful for a chance to chat to her, but he’d lost her somewhere in the fray so it was hard to say whether he was going to find her again or not. Best just to stand near the food and drinks and hope for the best really.
