Lysander had been adamant about going to the Halloween Feast as an animagus, just like his father, and short of being transfigured into an animal himself - something his father vehemently rejected the idea of for boring legal and moral reasons - there weren't a lot of other real magical options. Not for what he had envisioned, at least. Even a partial transfiguration had been off the table, much to the boy's dismay. To make up for not allowing him to be a real animal, his dad had gone to an Internet cafe to order the young Gryffindor a suitable animal costume, since Brightstone and Obsidian were both distinctly lacking in relevant dress-up apparel. As it turned out, there was a whole community of muggles who enjoyed dressing up as all sorts of different animals, from dogs to eagles, and even dragons. The appeal was understandable, and to a degree almost kind of sad to know that they couldn't magically change themselves as wizards could.

It had taken a bit of magic to shrink the fursuit down to his size once it had been delivered, but Lysander cheerfully strode into the Great Hall dressed head to toe as a dog and swivelled his massive head around to search for anyone he could recognise. His tail wagged about with each step and already the whole thing was beginning to get hot and stuffy, so he made his way over to the punch table to get some refreshments and cool down, a task that proved to be practically impossible once he realised his massive paws couldn't properly ladle any of the liquid into a cup. This was not the awesome animagus time he thought he would be having.

Daintree was indifferent to halloween, he’d put on a costume this year, it wasn’t a particularly good costume, just some clothes that looked sort of like a mime with his face painted white. He hadn’t put in that much effort and was wandering around the room looking at different things around the hall. The different costumes and there was one that caught his eye...but there was no way they were actually wearing a costume like that. Daintree had grown up using the internet, playing video games and knowing what kind of thing that was, but if this kid was a muggle maybe they didn’t really know and even in some aspects he didn’t fully understand but he knew that no one should be wearing that sort of costume. The slytherin walked over to the person, stepped closer made him realise that this costume definitely was, a minnie version of a costume that had maybe a bit of a different meaning. He could also spot that the boy was having some trouble. ”What on earth are you wearing?” he couldn’t help but ask, with a loud chuckle in his voice, ”Can I help you get a drink?” he offered not stopping himself from chuckling lightly, this person simply had zero clue.

Kara wasn't a huge fan of scary costumes, but she did enjoy Halloween. She had chosen to dress like a steampunk character, a muggle thing her dad got her into. Deciding to get something to drink, she walked over to where somebody dressed like a dog and a boy dressed like a mime were. The mime seemed to be laughing at the dog, Kara didn't understand what was wrong with dressing like a dog. The eyes do look a little funny and creepy. She thought to herself, quietly watching as she retrieved a cup.

Lysander was just about ready to give up on getting something to drink when another boy came up to the table and spoke to him. He couldn't blame him for laughing. If he wasn't so frustrated trying to maneuvour his paws, he would have laughed at how ridiculous he looked too. "It's my animagus costume. I'm transfigured into a dog!" Sander told him, his voice coming out slightly muffled from the headpiece. He put down the ladle he'd been attempting to use with a huff, and nodded his oversized head vigorously when the boy offered to help. "Please. I can't do anything with these paws, they're impossible." He told him. He couldn't understand how his father dealt with not being able to use his hands when he was transformed. Everything became so much harder. Raising his paws to his face, the boy tugged off the head of his fursuit and drew in a large breath of fresh air. "You have no idea how stuffy it is with this on. I should have just gone with some face paint. I like yours." He complimented the older boys mime face, realising now that just some paint, ears and a tail would have done him just as well. In theory, his fursuit had been a great idea, but the reality was not nearly as much fun.

Sorry Harleigh I couldn't figure out how to get him to notice Kara yet D:

Ellie had been looking forward to Halloween since the shiny newness of school had warn off. She had heard lots about the fun parties the school threw, and as she entered the great hall it didn't disappoint. Ideally she would be showing up with her brother, but the two hadn't really talked much since Sander had made the quidditch team. She had been hurt that he tried out without telling her. Ellie checked her dress once more to make sure it was messy enough before going in search of some fun. Everyone's costumes looked amazing, but of course the first one to catch her eye was the person in a full dog suit. She knew it was Lysander right away. He had been talking about his animagus costume forever. Well if there is any day for peace its Halloween Ellie thought as she walked over. There was a boy he was already talking to, and a girl who seemed interested in the costume. Ellie decided to approach the girl first. "You can go say hi, he wont bite." she joked as she walked up beside the girl and plucked a fist full of candy out of the nearest bowl.
