Lysander had been adamant about going to the Halloween Feast as an animagus, just like his father, and short of being transfigured into an animal himself - something his father vehemently rejected the idea of for boring legal and moral reasons - there weren't a lot of other real magical options. Not for what he had envisioned, at least. Even a partial transfiguration had been off the table, much to the boy's dismay. To make up for not allowing him to be a real animal, his dad had gone to an Internet cafe to order the young Gryffindor a suitable animal costume, since Brightstone and Obsidian were both distinctly lacking in relevant dress-up apparel. As it turned out, there was a whole community of muggles who enjoyed dressing up as all sorts of different animals, from dogs to eagles, and even dragons. The appeal was understandable, and to a degree almost kind of sad to know that they couldn't magically change themselves as wizards could.
It had taken a bit of magic to shrink the fursuit down to his size once it had been delivered, but Lysander cheerfully strode into the Great Hall dressed head to toe as a dog and swivelled his massive head around to search for anyone he could recognise. His tail wagged about with each step and already the whole thing was beginning to get hot and stuffy, so he made his way over to the punch table to get some refreshments and cool down, a task that proved to be practically impossible once he realised his massive paws couldn't properly ladle any of the liquid into a cup. This was not the awesome animagus time he thought he would be having.
