Professor Misha Haden had been a bit surprised to be asked to help out, he didn't often, but he didn't mind it. Though of course he was feeling a little more tired than usual with the boys keeping him awake. It was nice though, they were adorable. He looked at the two students whose duel he was overseeing. "Let's keep this clean," he said, before inviting them to get started.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Jasper was excited about the dueling tournament as a bit of fun as they had been too young to enter last year. He bowed to Amory and Professor Haden before the duel and then sent "Stupefy!" He watched his spell head towards it's intended target.

Amory wasn't too nervous about the duel, what was the worst that could happen? Well he could lose, but honestly he wasn't planning on that. Amory bowed to Jasper and the Professor. Before he could send any spells there was already one flying towards him. "Protego!" The Slytherin managed to shield himself just in time before the spell could hit him. "Nice one, almost got me." He taunted before sending one of his own. "Stupefy!" He had no doubt the Gryffindor would either dodge or protect themselves against it.

Jasper had to admit that he was a little impressed at how quickly he cast his first spell. Amory blocked it which he didn't mind, they were just getting started after all. "I'm glad you did or else this would have been a short duel! Protego!" He blocked the stunning spell just in time after almost distracting himself by talking. He sent another spell towards the Slytherin, this time something a little more powerful, "Petrificus Totalus!"

Tori watched Jasper as he took on Amory. She didn't know Amory well, or at all, really, only that he was a friend of Lumos which already put her on edge with him. He'd been at the Study session with her roommate Rose too. Ugh. "Yeah Jasper! You got this!" She cheered, watching him intently as he cast spells at the Slytherin. Jasper couldn't let Amory win, Gryffindor had to be on top, Slytherin hardly needed more bragging rights.​

Amory gave a short chuckle to the boys words, indeed it would have been far too short. As he heard a girls voice from somewhere he didn't acknowledge it because there was already a spell flying at him. "Protego!" He cast out in time shaking his head a little. "Everte Statum!" Amory fired back.

Jasper almost looked round when Tori cheered him but managed to keep his eyes on Amory, which was lucky as he had to block a strong spell. In between defending and attacking he called back, "Thanks Tori!" Then he cast his next spell which was one he had only learnt recently, "Rictusempra!"

Amory rolled his neck in between offense and defense. He cast another Protego, before filing through his head for anything to hit with next. "Expelliarmus!" He shot back, ignoring everything going around them. If he wanted any chance to win he'd have to focus on his opponent.

Jasper quite liked dueling, it was like a dangerous game of gobstones with the strategy and quick thinking that was required. He blocked the disarming spell then wondered if Amory played gobstones too. "After this, we can play gobstones if you like?" Jasper suggested, hoping the boy would want to play with him because gobstones was arguably more fun than dueling could ever be. "Everte Statum!"

Amory focused on his own things and almost missed the opportunity to shield himself from another spell. Just in time though he managed to cast a shield, furrowing his brows. "Gob-what-now?" He asked confused, what the hell was he talking about. "Stupefy!"

Jasper gasped, almost dropping his wand in shock, he jumped out of the way of the stupefy spell because he hadn't been in the correct position to block. "You don't know what gobstones is?!" Jasper could hardly believe his ears, he'd understand if they were a muggleborn first year, but they were second years now and even muggleborns should know the game. "Only the. Greatest. Wizard. Game. Ever invented!!!" He stood by that, it wasn't Quidditch after all.

Amory rolled his eyes, the drama of these Gryffindors. Honestly Felix was a character himself so he should have known the rest of the lions would perhaps have similar tendency for the dramatics, but seriously. Proud to see there was nothing cast at him Amory sent another spell flying, hoping to make use of the shock. "Petrificus Totalus! Yeah i haven't used much of my time on studying games, there's been enough new things as it is." Games were never his forte anyways, perhaps because he never had anyone to play with before.

Jasper took a deep breath and tried not to freak out, it was okay, he needed to focus on the duel. He could bring Amory round to gobstones in future. He blocked the incoming spell then said, "Hey wait a minute, I hadn't sent a spell yet! No fair!" He felt he should have been given more time to overcome his shock, "Tarantallegra!"

Amory chuckled "Hey now, don't blame me for your mistakes." He told the boy with a shake of his head before a spell hit him and his legs began dancing without his control. Well this was inconvenient but hardly stopped him from his own spell casting. "Finite!" He said this time pointing down at his own legs to make the dancing stop.

Mistakes? Jasper didn't think he had made a mistake, especially when his spell hit. He enjoyed the dance until Amory cast Finite. Jasper didn't know you could undo the spell effect yourself in a duel. He shrugged, casting "Petrificus Totalus" next.

"Crush him Jasper!" She was very much enjoying this duel, she liked Amory okay, she supposed, but Jasper was her best friend! Please don't get distracted!​

Amory chuckled as he heard Tori's voice again, tilting his head in bemusement he threw up a shield before taunting the Gryffindor before him. "Looks like you got a fan girl right over there," He cocked his head towards where he had heard the voice from before raising his wand again. "Expelliarmus!"

Jasper smiled at the cheering, Tori was great for that. "She's the best. We play gobstones together actually." Jasper replied to Amory, hoping to get him to agree to a game before the duel was over by repeatedly bringing it up. He was a little distracted and almost didn't block in time. He took a deep breath then cast again, "Rictusempra!"

Felix had been watching Amory's duel in delight, but noticing Jasper had a fangirl, Felix couldn't help but shuffle through the crowd to jokingly push his hand against Tori's face, blocking her view between his fingers. "Oi you have a fan boy over here too!" He liked Jasper, and was glad that he was becoming closer to the group, but he couldn't deny that he would have loved to see Amory win against him.​

Amory chuckled at Felix who was yelling from the sidelines, keeping his eyes on the opponent and shielding from his spell. "Yeah? Perhaps I'll give the game a go sometime," He finally let in before sending another spell flying. "Petrificus Totalus!"

Jasper enjoyed the fan girls in the audience but he had to stay focused on the duel and talk about gobstones. "I knew you'd come round." He blocked then sent the Jelly-legs jinx.

Amory failed to block the spell and soon enough his legs fellt all too wobbly and unstable. Falling on his arse was rather uncomfortable but who was he kidding, his legs had already grown tired after that little dance break. "Good one but I still got my wand," He shrugged before sending a Petrificus Totalus flying Jasper's way.

Lumos supposed he should make an appearance for his dorm mates, even if they said they didn't like his face. He fist bumped the air when he saw Amory and Jasper, but stayed away from Tori as she eyed him with a glare. Jeez. "Go for it Amory! Slytherin Pride dude!"​
 
Due to the 24-hour rule, Amory Raven is the winner.
