Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
Oh, and the duel begins now. Also, if someone doesn't post after 24 hours, then they are disqualified.

Dominique was quite excited for this match, as her old school, Durmstrang, also had duelling and she had rather enjoyed that. It would probably be something similar here, perhaps a little fairer even. Getting into her duelling stance at the south of the arena, she winked at her opponent. She was here to win and she was not going to pretend otherwise. She flourished her wand and said, "Petrificus Totalus!"

Finally, it was time for his second duel and Perseas was well-prepared. He was enjoying this a lot and although he didn't care much about victory or the house points prize, he cared about who was going to be. He wanted someone good, someone who was going to make the duel interesting and not a boring spell-casting session. He was hoping to see Rhiannon at the opposite side of the dueling arena. Instead, another girl was standing there. Although he didn't quite know her, he returned the wink and took a fighting stance. Like always, he was letting his opponent to cast the first spell. It was his chance to discern weaknesses and crack holes to their defenses. "Protego." he casually pointed his wand in front of him and the blue dome of light absorbed the offensive spell. He then murmured an incantation and a stream of blue flames roared out of his wand tip and flowed to his opponent.

He deflected her spell quite well, but Dominique was not one to back down. Upon seeing the fire coming towards her, she aimed her wand at in, intending to heat things up a little. She cast the bluebell flames spell and guided her own flames to hit that of Perseas as a defence, and never losing the grin off her face, she almost dared her opponent to try a little harder. They were fourth years, not firsties. She wanted this to be more fun. The collision of the flames was a strong one, but she managed to keep an eye on her opponent.

Perseas was expecting a shield charm from his opponent. When her blue flames' momentum countered his own and sent them all back to him, his grey eyes bulged. "Depulso!" he casted a powerful Banishing Spell and reversed the course of the blue, burning inferno back to her.

Dominique's eyebrow rose as her own flame was thrown back at her. She had been made to smile at his reaction, though, and managed to not make much of a physical reaction to the amount of flame thrown back at her.It was now mostly her own fire, and she decided to add just a little more. Maybe she'd burn his eyebrows off, though she did hope it wouldn't totally burn his face or anything. She was here to win, not scar her opponent. She cast the bluebell flames spell once more, and shot it all back to him.

His opponent responded with more bluebell flames. If she loved fire that much she was going to get more fire. "Locomotor Bluebell Flames!" he casted and the new stream of flames got under his control. He motioned with his wand higher and the blue flames ascended closer to the ceiling. He made them move above her and then with a flick of his wand, they descended in the form of a fiery pillar to engulf her.

Dominique felt that things were getting much too repetitive. She flourished her wand quickly. "Finite!" The spells effect stopped. She then aimed her wand at her opponent once more, "Incendio!" This whole ping-pong thing wasn't quite her style, not to mention the repetition of the one spell was just boring. Besides, real fire was much ore fun.

Perseas watched his fire column get extinguished by the girl and noticed that she didn't quite enjoy the way the duel was progressing. However, she insisted on playing with fire. New flames sprang from her wand and Perseas was ready to counter. "Repello!" he casted and the flames were forced away from him. "Wanna see me burn or something?" he wondered and waited for her next move, hoping for something else than fire.

Her flames were repelled, and she smirked at what he said. "Can't handle the heat?" she teased. "Cheer up darl, it gets better!" If he couldn't handle a little real fire, then maybe it was time he resign. She quickly pointed her wand at him. "Reducto!" Hoping to blow him out of the arena.

Perseas smirked back but didn't comment. Instead, his eyes focused on the girl's movements and when he saw finally a flash of light coming his way and not fire, he thrusted his wand and mustered all his power. "Protego!" he muttered and grinned when he saw her spell bouncing off his magical barrier and launching back to her. He enjoyed a lot this Ping-Pong thing, mainly because it looked like it was annoying his opponent.

She concluded that perhaps her opponent was not the best offensive dueller, as he barely used offensive magic. It was a shame, but she held no ill-will. It he couldn't do something, she was not the mother that would tell him to do it regardless. Besides, eventually an all defensive opponent had to remove themselves from their corner. "Reducto!" She said once more, causing an explosion that guarded her, and, through the smoke created, hopefully hurt her opponent.

Perseas was at the stage of observation. This strategy had worked last duel, perhaps it was going to grant him victory this time as well. So far his opponent hadn't showed any weaknesses. Both her offenses and defenses were good ones and therefore he was patiently waiting for an opportunity to grab and turn it to his advantage. After some time on the dueling platform, deflecting or blocking her spells, he thought he had his opportunity. The girl literally exploded the flames he sent back to her into thick smoke. "Confundo!" he responded before the smoke was going to dissolve and made the most of the low visibility. He saw the flash of light of his Confusion Charm piercing through the cloud of smoke and hoped it was going to hit his unprepared opponent.

The spell came through the smoke with surprising accuracy, and Dominique was hit. She had no idea what was happening. She was in some sort of arena? Stage? The smoke fell away, and she looked at her opponent, but had no idea what they were doing. Was he attacking her? Or was she attacking him? Where they just hanging out? She glanced at the wand in her hand, and looked back up at the boy across from her. What in Merlin's name was going on?

Perseas was on guard for as long as the smoke was hiding his opponent. She could have cast a spell as well but no jet of light zoomed towards his way. Instead, when the smoke disappeared, he saw the girl standing there in a daze. It seemed that the first part of his plan has worked. "Watch out! Behind you!" he pointed a finger somewhere behind her. A diversion and an attempt to lure her attention elsewhere. "Stupefy." he whispered his next spell and he watched the red jet of light darting her way.

Dominique glanced behind her, but found only a wall. Through her peripheral vision, however, she saw a spell flying towards her. With the thought of impending danger coming upon her, her adrenaline fulled limbs quickly cast a verbal protego spell to protect her, and rocket the spell back at the boy. Why was he attacking her? She narrowed her eyes, and watched him carefully, hoping her mind would clear a little more.

Despite his little diversion, the girl managed to block his spell and actually deflect it back to him. Perseas was prepared for this and multiplied the spell's power with another spell. "Depulso!" he shouted. His Banishing Charm reversed the course of the red jet of light back to her, adding extra momentum.

"Stupefy!" she said, aiming her wand at the spell coming for her. As smoke gathered and enveloped the arena once more, she realised that this must have been what she had done previously. She could feel her initial confusion wain.

"Stupefy!" he insisted when another cloud of smoke was created upon impact. If the coverage of the smoke was going to work again, then he was going to have his opponent stunned on the ground. In any case, he was prepared for his opponent's counter spell.

This time, she heard the spell. Gripping her wand, she watched carefully for a shift in the smoke, signifying intense movement. When she saw it, she verbally put up her shield and watched the spell rocket back through the smoke, that was now beginning to clear.

For some reason, Perseas had expected her to counter back so when he witnessed the red jet of light rocketing back to him, he was surprised. "Locomotor stunning spell!" he casted and gained control of the red projectile. He made it maneuver its way back to her and when it was close enough, he arched the course of the spell to hit her from above, straight on her head.

Dominique watched carefully as her opponent somehow managed to catch the spell and manipulate it without it hitting him first. She watched his wand movements, knowing that they would give her an understanding of where he was planning to take it. She was already preparing for the inevitable, and then he made his move. "Protego!" the spell shot away, and she aimed her wand back at her opponent. "Expelliarmus!"

He didn't expect her to block the spell this time but she did. Her Disarming Charm was also something he didn't see it coming. An abrupt jerk on his hand and the wand flew out of it. The wooden clatter on the floor warned him that his wand landed somewhere behind him. He rushed to retrieve it and he actually jumped and slid on the floor to reach it before she was able to cast her next spell.

Her spell hit him and, while he was still disarmed, she cast a spell to truly finish this. "Stupefy!"

Just in time his fingers wrapped around his wand and although he had his back facing his opponent, he saw the red flash on the walls. "Protego!" he incanted and just managed to turn his wand behind him and cast the defensive charm. When the red jet of light crushed on the light blue barrier, the force was so great that he was pushed backwards, almost tossed off the arena. "Holy mooncalf! If this spell had hit me, I would be in a coma at the Hospital Wing." he said impressed and finally stood up before she had the chance to knock him off the arena.

From post #15 and afterwards, I edited accordingly my character's points. I forgot to deduct 20 points when the Confundus Charm hit Dominique. Sorry for not noticing it earlier.
