Double Trouble

Avie was so happy to be back at school, seventh year was such a big deal, and he'd done better on his sixth year exams than ever before. The teen was just so happy to get started on the year and he had so much planned, specifically since this was his last of school, his rock search had to increase, he had to find all of the rocks that he could, all the best ones had to be in his possession so that no one else could have the nice ones. Avie was making his way to the lake front, going happily through the lawn, with a smile on his face, he was just so excited to be back at school, he was so happy to see Lucien, and Esme, and he couldn't wait to have fun with even more quidditch. However all of a sudden as he walked through he was hit with a balloon and suddenly covered in paint, and the boy stared down at his front before laughing, there were lots of people covered in paint, and two girls had begun chasing whom he assumed had done it, the prefect just laughed happily wiping the paint with his hands and smearing it all over Rockie which he easily pulled out of his pocket. before he continued towards the lake front, at least he'd be able to wash it off in that, as a prefect he was surely supposed to stop them, but Avie didn't want to, it was just fun.

That was the last thing Daisy expected to happen. There she was, taking no notice of the other students enjoying the sunshine, happily jogging down to the lake, when all of a sudden, they were being assaulted! Thankfully, no paint had crashed on her - yet. Though in looking around and seeing everyone's expression, it wasn't anything to be thankful about! Daisy wanted to be painted! Luckily, with the continued attack, paint puddles were forming, there was paint everywhere, and rather run from the flying bombs like her father had taught her, Daisy dived into one of the puddles, sliding across the ground, before rolling around in it, giggling like mad. This was the coolest welcome back to HNZ present ever!

More balloons were sent flying as Finn and his partner in crime continued the prank. And so far, they were going to get away scot-free! They were nearing the end of their stash, and soon it was only the rainbow balloon left. The Gryffindor couldn't stop grinning, he couldn't stop laughing at the sweet melody of screams and shouts; it was bringing people together, making people run and all the good things. Except, two of them were running in their direction. Two girls, Finn recognized, who had also recognized them - well Desislav certainly as one girl screamed his name. He frowned slightly as the other girl called them jerks. They were not jerks! They were just having fun! But before he got too caught up in that thought, he turned to his friend. "Our cover has been blown! The mustaches have failed us! Run!" He exclaimed, picking up the rainbow balloon. As if he'd let the two crazy girls get a hold of his ammunition! His beautiful rainbow balloon! One thing that Finn needed to work on was his running skills. Running was something you needed to be good at when you played pranks, and he'd always been able to out run his siblings, if he didn't trip up. And things were going so well, until he stumbled over his feet. It was like everything happened in slow motion - indeed, he cried out his 'Noooo' in slow motion as well. Down, down he was going, holding his rainbow balloon tight to his chest, which of course, broke, and splattered. Finn lay in his popped rainbow balloon puddle his arms spread out, his front completely covered in his beautiful kaleidoscope of colour. He started laughing. This was the best thing ever.

Desislav let out a groan as he heard Kayleigh. Of course, she'd be the one to see through his moustache disguise. He heard Finn's words and nodded. "Save yourself...and the rainbow balloon!" he yelled as he ran the opposite way, hoping that Kayleigh and her friend would chase him and not Finn. He heard the shout and turned his head, watching his friend tumble, fall, and splatter himself in rainbow. Desi broke down laughing, falling onto the paint splattered grass in the process. "Kayleigh. Wait. It was just a joke" he pointed at her, scooting back on his behind as he spoke.

Ashlei was fine behind her tree. She watched as balloons soared through the air and splatter people everywhere. Only Gyffindors were capable of this, and she knew her class well enough to narrow it down to who would do something so ridiculous. Ashlei completely forgot the paint all over her back, and she did not notice the person who found her spot. All the other students who were with her before had run off towards to school building. Surprisingly, Ashlei was enjoying the show. She looked to the person next to her. He was young. Well, she was young too, but this kid looked five year old young. "Don't worry. Do you have paint to? Want me to clean you up?" Ashlei asked politely. The Ravenclaw was a bit eccentric, but she was motherly. She wanted to make sure the boy wasn't too traumatized by her peers' antics. "My name is Ashlei. I'm a fifth year." she introduced herself.

Rudolf couldn't believe his ears. The Slytherin girl they'd once accidentally hit with a tennis ball (at least he assumed it was her - all the paint made identifying anyone a challenge) was actually yelling at them as if it were their fault! Rudolf huffed and drew himself up indignantly. "Look, lady, as much as I'd like to take the credit for this ingenious prank-" he started, but was cut off when Kayleigh discovered the true perpetrators. Hah! Rudolf should have guessed. Finn and Desislav were super cool. Flicking paint at Reuben, Rudolf said, "Closest thing you'll have to a wash this side of Christmas."

Leo had been enjoying his time back at Hogwarts. He loved it here and he grinned at the commotion going on before him. Guess he walked to the grounds at the wrong time. He was about to head back in case he'd be the one to get hit by some paint when he heard a giggle. An oddly familiar giggle. Daisy! His eyes widened in amusement as he soon found her and watched her roll on the ground. It wasn't something he was going to do, oh no, not in this lifetime, but it was still funny seeing his friend do it. Before he could help himself he burst out laughing. "Enjoying yourself there, Daisy?" he called to her, ready to run if she was planning on hitting him with colourful paint.

"Aw, come on! All I was trying to do was hang with my older 'cuz, I don't see anything wrong with that," Kaia said to her hufflepuff cousin. They were sitting together, having a nice time until someone had decided to drop paint on some students. Seriously? Kaia just raised her eyebrows, not entirely sure whether she had made the right decision to come to this school filled with madness. Okay, it hadn't really been her doing but nevertheless Kaia was confused. Being the curious first year she was she decided to find out who did this. When she spotted a girl call out to a pair of twins Kaia immediately walked over to them, sighing and assuming they were the ones who dropped all the paint but they seemed to wear kaleidoscope colours just like the rest of them. They seemed to be arguing about something, unless that was just the young ravenclaw's assumption. She knew she heard the wrong part of the conversation so she wrinkled her nose in disgust, taking a step back not wanting to be covered in paint just yet. "Hey - you two. Please don't tell me you had the audacity to paint everyone." Kaia had no idea if any of it made sense but at this point she didn't really care. She felt someone stand beside her and knew it was her cousin. She had no idea where her other twin cousin disappeared off to.

Reuben scowled at his brother with his paint-smothered brow, but could not retort with a witty remark because no sooner had he opened his mouth than another student had addressed them. The Hufflepuff choked in disbelief. "Why does everyone always think we're the ones to blame?" he whined, realising as the words left his mouth that they probably, on reflection, did have quite a good reason to assume it was them. Who was this girl, anyway? Reuben didn't recognize her, and could only conclude she was a first year. Were he and Rudolf really so notorious as for brand new pupils to suspect them of trouble? Perhaps they just had that sort of face.

They'd finally caught up to the cretins, and Kayleigh did pause when Finn fell and squashed his balloon. That was perfect karma, he totally deserved it! But her attention snapped back to Desislav, who, fortunately enough, had made his way down to the ground. "Oh!" Kayleigh exclaimed, hearing his reasoning. "It was just a joke!" She said to Alana, before turning back to her so called best friend, taking small steps towards him as he scooted back. "Of course it was, that makes things so much better!" Kayleigh replied sarcastically, taking a pause before swiftly covering the remainder of the ground between them, dropping to her knees next to him, punching him in the arm. "You are a jerk!" Kayleigh exclaimed, slapping the boy on the arm to accentuate the word. She could already feel the paint starting to dry and then they'd just be a crackle of mess.

Hearing laughter and a familiar voice, Daisy looked up to see her friend. "Leo!" She exclaimed happily, before looking at him disapprovingly. "You are much too clean." She tutted, scooping up the liquid and attempting to throw it at Leo. While he was distracted by the flying paint, this was the best time! She scrambled to her feet and threw herself around Leo, giving him a big hug, walking backwards, her secret plan needing them to be close to the paint puddle. Of course, he now also had paint on him, having been hugged by Daisy who was covered head to toe. "It's so good to see you, friend!" Daisy said excitedly.

"Uh oh," Leo muttered his eyes going wide at Daisy's comment. "No, please do not-" Too late. Leonardo was now covered in loads of paint as Daisy moved to give him a hug. He'll have to get back at her sometime. He grinned mischievously at her as he noticed she was bringing him further and further nearer the puddle of paint. Leo was done for, he knew that now. She had no idea what he planned the next time he'd see her. "So, Daisy, dear friend of mine. How's life?" Leo tried to make easy conversation amongst the shouts and screams of everyone they were surrounded with, by smiling at his friend, excited to see her again. "It's been way too long!" Then he got a bright idea. He whispered to his mate. "Psst. We need a plan. With everyone distracted, maybe we can aim at everyone who's not covered in paint at all."

Daisy laughed as Leo attempted to stop her. Futile attempt! She giggled again as she walked backwards, Leo asking her how life was. "You know, same old, same old. You?" She asked innocently in return. "I know! It's like I haven't seen you in forever!" Daisy replied, with a grin. She nodded, listening to him, always ready for plans of attack. "Right, whats the plan of action? Run tackle hugs? Steal some balloons? Just throw paint?!" Daisy suggested excitedly, before grasping her hands together, though they were still around him, so she had a good grip. She let herself fall to the ground, in the big paint puddle, hoping he'd fall along with her.

"I guess you have that kind of face. Don't worry, I get that a lot too," Kaia replied, grinning. She didn't know if it had been them, but they could've been the culprits. In fact, even her cousin could've been the person to throw paint at people but she doubted Amy was that kind of person. Kaia considered anyone that seemed to have a knack for mischief as fun and although she didn't really see the point in pranking others she did find it entertaining to say the least. Something occurred to her. "Wait, so who did create this mess if it wasn't you two?" The first year really did want to know now.

Alana stared down at Desislav, making a sound of disgust at him as he declared it was just a joke. Already, the paint was stiffening in her hair and on her cheeks. She could feel it. Her fingers were sticky with the paint, and her clothes were heavy with it. “Grow up already!” she yelled before stomping away to take a shower only slightly satisfied that Kayleigh had punched him. Alana felt that she should have targeted his stupid, laughing face. She slipped as she stomped which only made her more angry as she headed off, leaving all of her stuff behind. It was all ruined anyway.

“Ooowwww” Desi howled, though the neither the punch or slap had really hurt him. He felt like he should make some sort of noise of pain though just so she wouldn’t continue. It was her friend yelling at him that hurt a little bit more. He’d only been trying to have a bit of fun. Was that immature? Desi didn’t think so. He watched the girl stomp off, some of the mirth from the balloon throwing gone. “Jeez. Your friend has no sense of humor” he murmured as he got up, his bottom covered in paint. “You do though, right? Come on. Tell me that wasn’t at least a little bit funny” he stage whispered, hoping for some assurance that he wasn’t totally horrible. It couldn’t be. People around them were running and splashing in the paint. Sure, there were a few people hiding, but all in all it’d been pretty harmless.

Vex was lurking the halls as always. With the introduction of the new year underway, and all the new students getting lost, scared and confused - Vex had never been brighter in appearance since his conception. He had missed the main event, but there was always more chaos to add to any situation, and the poltergeist had just the thing. He observed the crowd from a window, dangling out happily before dropping down in a long swoop. Paint was sticky, though if some were lucky their paint would have dried by now... but not everyone. The poltergeist had a bag of feathers to drop on the unsuspecting students, completely visible to all of them. If he didn't feel the feathers stuck well enough, the non-being swooped lower to rub the feathers on their heads, or stick them to their shoulders, cackling quite proudly as he did so. Anything to cause more trouble among the children.

At Desislav's complaint, Kayleigh stood up and crossed her arms, her eyes following Alana as she stormed away before her attention was brought back to Desislav who seemed incredibly disappointed. The blonde huffed, not wanting her friend to be upset, but far be it from her to ever lie. "Everyone has a different sense of humor Des, and this - well, I can see why she's angry. But, I mean I guess some people are having fun." She commented looking around. Kayleigh rolled her eyes and sighed again. "Don't be upset Desi I'm not that ang- " But before the blonde could finish her sentence she felt a force on her head to which she ducked, and looked up, seeing Vex dropping feathers on everyone. Of course he had to show up. Kayleigh couldn't help but smile, turning back to Desislav, taking the feathers off of her head and smacking them on the top of his. "This is your fault." She teased, before running back to Orwell, avoiding Vex on the way.
