Sybil didn't like to pick favorites but if she had to pick which of the school dances was her favorite she'd reluctantly say it was this one. It was hard not to feel a bit soft and romantic with the great hall filled with flower petals and hearts. She stood at the edge of the dance floor and watched everyone else dancing. It seemed so fun and while she wanted to dance it felt a little silly to be out there by herself. Besides she was tired after running around the castle delivering roses. Maybe she should just sit down? The tables with their comfortable chairs were tempting to her but at the same time the music was tugging her towards the dance floor.

Eoghan had asked Lilith to meet him at the dance that evening, given they both had a lot going on and both had been hunting students down for the rose deliveries. By the time the third year had turned up to the Great Hall, fully kitted out in the seasonal theme, Lilith was currently no where in sight. There were a few familiar faces though, one he'd even seen earlier that day.

Sybil was stood at the edge of the dance floor, as though she was looking at it hesitantly. Eoghan wasn't sure whether she'd any more roses after the one he'd delivered, or if she was expecting to meet someone and that was why she waiting, but he supposed they could wait together. "Hey," Eoghan smiled at the Slytherin as he approached, pausing at the dance floor too. "Are you waiting for someone?" he asked, wondering whether that was why she hadn't stepped foot on it yet.

Sybil returned Eoghan's smile as he approached but spared a glance behind her just to make sure he wasn't actually looking at Lilith or something. But she wasn't there and she was a little surprised to see them apart especially tonight. "Hi!" she replied and shook her head. "Oh, no not waiting on anyone." she answered quickly, a little too quickly, but she couldn't help it. "It's just me...here. I mean I'll probably hang out with someone. I mean practically the whole school is here so I'm not technically alone." she knew she was rambling but the words didn't seem to stop.

Eoghan supposed Sybil could hang out with anyone given that everyone was here, but the Ravenclaw believed they both knew what he meant. He gave her half a smile, his eyes trailing over the dance floor as he tried to assess who had already come out to enjoy the festivities. During his first year, Eoghan never would have considered coming to the dance, and in what felt like a very short space of time, he'd come voluntarily and was confident enough in himself to approach others; another trait he never would have given his younger self. "Do you want to dance?" Eoghan asked. He didn't think Lilith would mind, besides, as far as he was aware she was on friendly terms with Sybil too. He'd been doing his best to improve his empathy, and even if it was somewhat outside of his comfort zone, it would be worth pushing if it meant the Slytherin could have a better evening.
