Luke had had Butters for nearly two years, which meant that in hamster years he was basically approaching old age. The Slytherin liked to make sure that he was more than comfortable these days, and rarely went anywhere without a little extra padding to keep him safe. Freddie had always said he was responsible when it came to his pet, and the first year had no intention of letting anyone or anything break his record.

The abandoned classroom was an excellent way for Luke to give Butters some freedom, without worrying that he was going to escape and get lost around the castle. He'd closed the door, and created a little obstacle course for the rodent who was happy enough stretching his little legs on the various apparatus. Suddenly, the door opened the Luke's head shot up to see an older boy. Wide eyed, Luke was concerned for a few seconds, "Close the door!" he didn't need the hamster fleeing the scene.

For a classroom that deemed itself "abandoned", there sure was always someone in there. Felix felt a little at his leg, but was distracted by the sight of Susie's little brother on the floor, various boxes and pieces of wood or sticks laid out in front of him. His eyes narrowed slightly, trying to figure out what the boy was trying to build. "Luke? Maybe I'll tell your family you need more Lego for your birthday," he joked. As long as he didn't build anything that would wake him up from his library naps, it would be a win win.

Luke was surprised that Felix had any idea that it was almost his birthday, although perhaps it was just a lucky guess. "I already have Lego," not that the Gryffindor would have known. "But this isn't for me, it's for Butters," he turned his head back down to the the golden fluff ball that was running up and down some of the cardboard tubes.

Felix moved further into the room, lightly pushing the door behind him before crouching down in front of the pair. "You built this for your hamster?" Felix thought the operation looked quite complex, it wasn't like Luke had just taken some TP from the bogs for his project. Unfortunately for the boys, neither of them noticed the pair of eyes that watched them from under a nearby chair.

The Slytherin nodded proudly, it was a project that he'd built up over a number of months while at the school, every now and then adding to it over time. He lightly stroked the creature behind the ears, watching him sniff the air as though he knew someone else had joined him. "Do you want to give him a treat?" He asked, reaching for a small box of dried hamster biscuits, handing one over to his sister's friend.

No sooner had Felix taken a dry crumb from the first year, and started to present it to the unsuspecting victim, did things suddenly go very wrong. Out of no where, a large shadow fell across the obstacle course, and as soon as the treat was snatched from his fingertips, but Butters was snatched too. Before either of the boys could get a word in edgeways, the black furry mound had pounced between them, scooped up Butters and bolted for the door. "What.." The cat looked eerily like Nugget, although that was impossible. With a glance to Luke who seemed distraught at what had just happened, a chill went down Felix's spine when he released the door had never actually closed behind him.

GM of Kuu approved.
No hamster is being harmed, just stolen

This, this was precisely why he'd told Felix to close the goddamn door. Shoving past the older boy, Luke scrambled out the door of the abandoned classroom in time to see the black cat trotting down the corridor, Butters in his mouth. No..
His eyes started to fill with tears. Butters was going to get lost. Freddie should have just taken his title away from him there and then.

Felix followed after Luke, staring opened mouthed down the second floor corridor at the realization that this wasn't Nugget, it was Kuu. "Don't worry, I got this," he shrugged to the first year, before jogging down the corridor after him. How hard could it possibly be to catch a cat? Either way, Felix knew he had to grab it before Susie or Lilith found out, or before Butters became a snack himself.

OOCOut of Character:
Let the chase begin!

Lilith had spent a lot of time outside today, reflecting on everything that had happened in the last few months. She'd returned to her dorm only to find her cat that had been too lazy to go outside with her missing. The fourth year knew how much of a menace that cat had a tendency to be. There'd been that time she'd gotten real comfortable on Demi's pillow, then there was that time Lili thought the cat was trying to suffocate poor Freddie. As the Ravenclaw searched every nook and cranny she thought her cat might have gotten into her left eye was practically twitching at the though of what the feline might be up to. No sooner had she rounded the corner to the hallway where the abandoned classroom was that she saw a black stripe zoom past her and someone jogging after the line. It took her an embarrassingly long time to realize that that stripe of black had been her cat. Running at full speed. The person following it was Felix.

Felix? What was he doing with her cat? Frowning Lili looked down the hallway and spotted Susie's other brother, Luke, who looked distraught. Looking at her cat she saw something in the cats mouth and then it connected. LUKE HAD A HAMSTER. HER CAT WAS RUNNING WITH SOMETHING IN HER MOUTH. Turning around quickly Lilith started to chase after the cat too. "Please tell me Kuu just decided it was a time for a jog..." Lilith asked Felix quietly, awkwardly even because she wasn't sure how to talk to the Gryffindor. Not after their conflict.

'Course Lilith fricking Ilves was right at the scene of the crime. Felix grimanced when he heard her voice, partly because of the situation at hand and partly because now he had to talk to one of the two people he'd rather have avoided for the rest of the semester. It had been sad, really. To cut the Ravenclaw's out over the holidays but it was for the best. He knew they hadn't meant to hurt him but that was part of the problem, they had, and now whenever he looked at them he felt as though his own friends had been lying to him, and thought so lowly of him too.

"Totally," it was hard to talk while running, and it was as though Kuu knew he was being chased because he just sped up. He glanced sideways to Lilith, figuring if anyone could catch him it was probably those that often trained to catch small annoying objects for fun. "Unless you have any neat kitty capturing tricks up your robe Ilves, we should probably split up." They were approaching a set of stairs, and Felix wasn't sure whether Kuu was about to continue down the left hand corridor or switch to a different floor.

Hearing Felix speak almost made Lilith let out a sigh of relief or pain? She didn't know. She had felt terrible over how things had gone between them and she felt guilty for having let them get there, but she needed to remember she couldn't take all the blame for everything. She could have tried to talk to him before sure, but she'd figured it was best to let the dust settle for a bit and then her own life had picked up in speed and she barely had the means to make sense of it all herself. "I see..." She said still trying to keep up with the cat that actually glanced back at them tauntingly. "Alright, just be careful... I wouldn't put it past her to lunge down the stairs." Her cat was making the most of those nine lives.

"Kuu! Quit it!" She called after the cat, with little to no effect as the cat started running the stairs down. "No splitting up yet Layton, there's only one set of stairs down, unless you want to take the railing and slide down then be my guest." She said turning to glance at the Gryffindor as she began descending the stairs, trying not to trip.

Lilith wasn't wrong, Kuu immediately went for the stairs which was going to make things even harder for them. "Does he.. she ever listen to you?" Felix realised Kuu was a girl, although apparently also didn't take instructions as well as Nugget had either. "How did you know?" Felix had already planned to slide down the banister, it made more sense and besides it wasn't like they were on the seventh floor.

As the Ravenclaw started to descend, Felix hopped up onto the side of the stairwell, beginning to slide until he was moving even faster downhill than Lilith was. He put his good balance down to being excellent on a broomstick, it was easy not to slip off the side. Less easy however was the dismount, given he wasn't used to needing to stop in the air before slipping off the front of his broom. By the time he reached the bottom, he had no way of breaking and so the Gryffindor found himself in a heap on the floor. He may have beaten Lilith to the first floor, but at least she still had her momentum.

Ten's head lifted from her book when she heard a thump, and was shocked to say the least that her little brother was lying at the bottom of the stairs. She stood up from the alcove, taking a few steps towards him and yanking him back up to standing by the back of his robes. She didn't take him as someone who tried to take a shortcut, and judging by the other girl running down the stairs they were in a hurry. "Where are you going?" Ten quizzed the pair, baffled as to what was so urgent.

Lilith gave a shrug, "Yeah she listens usually, but then when she is playing she loses all control of herself and becomes a menace." She explained, it was as though the cat just couldn't help herself. A small smile, one that was rare these days, appeared on Lili's lips as Felix asked how she'd known he was going to slide down the railing. "Seems something you would do!" She called out after him, making quick work to get down herself. The Gryffindor beat her to it but he was soon in a heap on the floor and Lili grimaced, risking to lose the cat she rushed over taking two steps at a time, reaching him the second an older girl, Felix's sister if she wasn't wrong, had him up. "Merlin are you okay? Did you break anything?" She asked with worry lacing her tone and features as she glanced the boy up and down. If chasing her cursed cat got Felix hurt Lili might just drop out of the school completely. As she noted he seemed fine the Ravenclaw grabbed him by his sleeve and darted after the cat. "WE ARE CATCHING A SNITCH!" She called back at the girl.

(gm to grab Fifi and leave Ten behind APPROVED)

Felix groaned as Lilith decided to use his robes of all things to pick him up, and he was about to swat her off when he realised it wasn't her, but Ten. Thankfully, Felix didn't have time to answer her questions as the Ravenclaw grabbed him by the sleeve and they were off again. He grinned at Lilith, feeling like they really were on some sort of mission together. After a few seconds he was running back at full speed, and the pair flew down the first floor corridor, darting between other students in their way. "Beep beep!" Every now and then, Felix would have to maneuver himself around a small gaggle of students. "We can use Accio, right?" he asked, patting himself down as he looked for his wand.

Mania was headed out of the great hall back up to her dorm, she was on the first floor when she spotted Ten around there too. Making her way towards the girl she suddenly saw Felix in a heap on the floor and then a girl was grabbing him and saying they were catching a snitch. Narrowing her eyes she made her way to Ten and glanced at the older girl. "A snitch? Inside? I doubt that." She said, looking warily in the pairs direction as their backs got further down.

Ten frowned as Lilith grabbed her brother and they took off again. Maybe there was a snitch, although it wouldn't have been their job to find it. She shrugged as Nia approached too, "God knows," she mumbled under her breath, before turning to resume her spot in the alcove. It wasn't her usual scene to be caught reading, but she wasn't about to fail her NEWT in her favourite subject.

Lilith almost let out a snort when Felix started saying beep beep to students, but caught herself just about before the snort slipped out. Glancing at Felix, eyes wide with alarm she shook her head furiously. "No no! We don't know if it'll hurt her and Butters too at worst, if you use accio on my cat Felix I will smack you with a book!" They could do it otherwise. She just had to try and think, c'mon brain. Going through every spell she knew, the fourth year was struggling to come up with anything feasible that wouldn't hurt her cat. "Merlin what is it with this cat, I swear she has a screw loose at times." Lilith huffed as the cat took another set of stairs down towards the ground floor.

Felix groaned as Lilith forbid him to try Accio, although it would have solved all their problems. He had half a mind to think Lilith would smack him with her book regardless at the moment, although it was hard to focus on their issues with the situation at hand. "Why does Kuu keep going down?" he asked through huffed breaths, taking the steps this time. "Where is she going?" Surely Lilith had some idea of where she'd be taking Butters. Perhaps there was a secret dungeon hiding spot he didn't know about. Felix bounced over the railing at the bottom of the stairs, sharply turning right and continuing to follow the cat as it approached the doors of the Great Hall.

Eoghan had managed to avoid the cat commotion for the most part, although as he finished his lunch and headed out the Great Hall, he spotted Felix and Lilith running straight at him. He stopped dead in the middle of corridor, alarmed at why the pair were now barreling towards him, until he realised Kuu was also running straight in his direction, small hamster in her mouth.

Lilith pursed her lips into a thin line, her breaths growing heavier as she kept running. "Because she is a demon and is trying to get a step closer to hell!" She said, her frustration with her cat seeping into her tone. "Kuu pysähdy! Tää ei oo enää hauskaa!" She yelled after her cat, hoping that the poor hamster would be fine, though knowing her cat he was fine. The cat was more likely to take a nap with mice than hurt them, he might be slightly traumatized though. Her eyes landed on her boyfriend all of a sudden and she sent him a pleading look.

*Kuu pysähdy! Tää ei oo enää hauskaa! = Kuu stop it! This isn't funny anymore!

"LILITH!" Felix suddenly shouted at the Ravenclaw as another language escaped her lips. He could see Eoghan up again and could only assume that she was doing that thing where she communicated with her annoying boyfriend in a language very few others around them could understand. "THIS IS NOT QUIDDITCH, WE ARE ON THE SAME TEAM!" She didn't need to be keep him in the dark, not right now when she needed to know whatever it was she was planning.

Eoghan smirked when he saw that even though they seemed to hanging out, they weren't exactly back on friendly terms. Things had been weird with Felix, and while Eoghan didn't particularly want Felix hanging out with his girlfriend, Eoghan certainly didn't take kindly to him shouting at her either. The Ravenclaw caught Lilith's pleading look and he took his wand from his robes. He knew she wanted Kuu to stop. "Accio Butter!" He said clearly, pointing his wand at the cat. He was in a prime position, she wasn't going to get past him.

Eoghan looked back to the Great Hall just in time to realize his mistake. It was like he'd just activated the schools paintball gun, as many little pellets of butter that had been laid out across each house table, suddenly pelted him from all angles.

Lilith let out some sort of a sound when Felix yelled at her, flinching at the volume slightly. "I'm sorry. I was just trying to call to her in Finnish in case she would listen to me." She explained quickly, feeling incredibly bad about the exclusion he must have felt probably thinking she was talking to Eoghan. "Please don't yell at me." She said before she could stop it, she'd always hated shouting, even as a kid. Returning her eyes to Eoghan she saw him try to use magic but then there was butter all over him and her eyes widened. "Merlin, don't eat it!" She tried to call to her boyfriend, wishing she could stay to make sure he was okay but the cat was continuing her trip and Lilith needed to catch that demon sooner rather than later.

Juniper was making her way out of the great hall when a lot of shouts echoed around her. She looked around her alarmed, seeing a black cat and then students chasing her or him. Then there was more shouting. Then butter. Everywhere. Trying to discreetly make her way out of the line of fire of the shouting she missed the piece of butter on the ground. A fatal mistake. That butter sent her feet slipping from beneath her and before she knew it her world tilted and she felt her behind and back smack on the floor. Hard. Letting out a whimper she glanced around her, so confused. Her back hat hit the floor, but thankfully her head hadn't. "Why is it always me...." She whispered as she pulled up into sitting position, rubbing her back.
