This was the second and last red rose to deliver. @Eric Holland was the guy. But, Zennon did not know any male Hollands. Just the females. He looked over the name again, and seeing the house color, walked over to the Gryffindor table. He called out, "Eric Holland! Where is Eric Holland?" Zennon never thought that it would have been a first year, receiving a red rose though.

Today was very annoying. Everyone was mooning over roses, and Eric thought it was all dumb. He was glad no one had come to bother him so far, and he was fairly sure that would stay the same. He was eating at the Gryffindor table by himself, and frowned when he heard someone call his name. "What do you want?" He called to the older boy, glaring at him.

After Zennon was made aware of who it was that was Eric, he frowned a bit at the tone that the first year had. And someone gave him a red rose? Maybe it was a prank. Must have been. He set the rose and the note down next to the lad, unsure if he would straight up deny it, and make Zennon look like a fool. "Someone sent you that and the note. Enjoy." Zennon sighed and turned around, definitely not wanting to see that reaction, and went on to hope that others would at least smile some?
Roses are red
Just like your face
When you saw the words
You couldn't erase

Eric frowned when the boy gave him a red rose, putting it down on the table in front of him. From the little he'd heard, red roses were the most serious. He knew immediately that Nova hadn't sent this to him, and no one else would... Maybe one of his cousins had done this as some lame attempt at an olive branch? The older boy who had delivered it started to walk away, but Eric hardly paid him any mind. He opened the note and immediately felt furious as he read the message. With a growl of rage, he crumpled it up and threw it into the nearest pitcher of pumpkin juice before throwing the rose on the ground and stomping on it until it was completely crushed. Then he glared at the Slytherin table, because he knew exactly who had done this.

Nova hadn't really realized that roses were going to be handed out today. She tried to ignore it happening, but it was hard with an interruption every second, girls gushing about their roses, or names being yelled out. The Ravenclaw felt her eyes were getting a good workout, with the amount of rolling they were doing. Love and roses were stupid. Finally giving up on trying to get some peace and quiet, Nova headed over to find the one person she knew would think the same as her. She stopped however, and watched as an older Slytherin boy gave Eric a red rose. She furrowed her eyebrows, and slowly made her way towards Eric as he started stomping on the rose. "Wow. I see you hate this day as much as I do then."

Sydney had been eagerly awaiting rose deliveries all week. Not that she was expecting any herself, but she couldn't give up the opportunity to gloat over Holland. Not to mention a chance to flex her poetry skills. It took all her willpower to keep a straight face when she heard someone looking for Holland. Surely no one else would have sent him a rose, so it had to be hers. She didn't need to watch to know he was probably furious, and she smiled into her food even when she felt what she was sure was Holland's livid stare on the back of her head. Checkmate, Holland.

Eric snarled in frustration as someone interrupted him, but then he saw it was Nova. He sighed deeply, trying to calm himself down enough to talk. "It's that stupid Sydney." He snapped, glaring at the Slytherin table again before tearing his gaze away. "She sent me a rose with a bad poem, to humiliate me. She's the one who did the glitter thing too." He stomped on the rose again for good measure. "I hate her." He growled. "We should get back at her."

Nova raised an eyebrow as Eric mentioned Sydney sending him a rose, but her mouth opened to a small 'o' as he continued to explain what had actually happened. The Ravenclaw pushed her lip forward in a small sympathy pout for Eric, sitting down at the bench and nodding her head in agreement when Eric said they should get back at her. "Hold her down, and I'll draw a big L on her forehead in permanent marker. Then everyone will know she's the loser." Nova frowned, wondering if markers were going to become their thing. "Or you could just hex her." She said with a shrug, reaching back to grab an apple.

Eric felt oddly glad that Nova went to sit with him. It was nice to have a partner in crime, so to speak, and someone who didn't laugh at his misfortune but instead helped him devise a plan for revenge. He laughed at her suggestion, sending Sydney another look. "Wouldn't be hard, she's probably weak." He said with a shrug. "But maybe hexing is better." He tapped his chin. "Do you suppose we'll learn good hexes next year?" He'd seen some at the dueling tournament he'd love to try out on Sydney, but didn't know any of them himself yet.
