Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

Celine laughed to herself at Elvira's idea of advice to the rest of the team, and decided she would tease her friend by complaining very obnoxiously to her once they were off the pitch. For now, she could ignore the lingering pain, and she smiled at Cheryl's thumbs up. "It was a good throw!" she called back. She hoped the younger girl would keep trying to get the Quaffle past her during this practice - it was best for the team if everyone improved. With that thought in mind, Celine watched the new chaser take the ball back and begin her half-lap. She was glad the girl didn't seem discouraged by the recent little spat.

She groaned while she chased after a bludger. It didn't seem to slow down and she was unable to catch up to it. Knowing that she would only be more annoyed the longer she continued to chase it, Maia decided to let this one go and hunt down another one. in the hope that she'd land a hit again sometime soon.

Although Grace had decided to play defensive for a while, no bludger was coming her or the young chaser’s way yet thankfully, though she still kept her eyes wide open in case a ball did suddenly appear out of nowhere and came in her direction. She was ready to hit some bludgers.

Celine continued to watch the youngest chaser as she made progress, although her eyes darted around to remain aware of bludgers now as well. There was still time before the girl got close to the scoring zone and took up all of her attention.

Nadine flew up to the hoops once more and tried to score. This time, she had no bludger to blame for her miss. She sighed, frowning a little as she turned to fly off. This practice wasn't going very well so far.

Elvira was glad everyone seemed to have calmed down and no one was yelling at the beaters anymore. She focused her attention on trying to find the snitch, a little annoyed she hadn't managed to find it yet.

Fulke barely had time to return to the other chasers before Fletcher had hit a bludger his way. If he'd known all it took was an offer to be a target, he might have done so much earlier to avoid arguments. After taking the force of the iron ball into his shoulder, the redhead decided he definitely would not have done so much earlier. Oof, that was painful. He felt sorry that the young chaser had to take two of these already. Groaning in pain, Brendan waited for the air that was knocked out of him to return to his lungs, before giving the beater a reassuring thumbs up. Now all she needed to do was bring that skill to their Hogwarts match, and take out the entire opposing team before they needed to even make a score.

It was getting frustrating trying to keep up with this snitch. Lacroix wondered for a brief moment if there was any way to lure it to him instead. A song and dance, for example. Something no other seeker had happened to think up before. Deciding it was unlikely, the youth continued to search the old fashioned way.

Not having much success with the bludgers, Maia circled around Theodore to defend him from the other beaters

Cheryl flew close to the young chaser to help her out in any case. When the girl had missed Cheryl smiled comfortly to the girl. She was really doing her very best she figured, she seemed like a good kid. The blonde took posession of the quaffle as it was thrown back into the game, and made another lap before going to the keeper again.

Apparently, all it had taken for the fourth year to regain her ability to hit the bludger was the anger from her peers and motivation from her Captain. No sooner had she hit one towards him did she spot another, and racing after it before it could escape her sight she managed to smack it once more, this time aiming for Elvira. As usual she didn't want to hit anyone but she was here to do her job on the team and at least she hitting it now. Unfortunately for Fletcher, the bludger skimmed the girl and headed straight past her, colliding instead with Theodore. She frowned in an attempt not to get mad at herself, repeating in her head that she was doing well, even though the guilt in her stomach told her otherwise.

Cheryl flew at Celine and was ready to try and score. She sighted deeply as she missed again. What was wrong with her? Perhaps there was some pressure for making it to the team this team and not as an alternate. Cheryl thought Celine was doing a good job though. It was also important that their keeper defended the hoops good.

Elvira was growing frustrated at the lack of any sight of the snitch so far. She really wanted to get it, but wasn't sure if she would find it at all. She felt like she had flown all over the pitch already. With a sigh, she looped around and tried to focus on anything metallic. She gasped in alarm as another bludger neared her, but ducked. It flew past her, and hit Theodore instead. She grimaced at the boy, feeling bad for him. Though she was also glad she hadn't been hurt.

Being hit twice wasn't fun, and Nadine had to admit to herself she was in quite a bit of pain. She could now imagine very well why players had to switch out after three. As Cheryl failed to score, Nadine saw another chance. She swooped in to get the Quaffle and left to do a lap around half of the pitch. Hopefully, she would score her first goal soon.

Maia, looking left to keep an eye on the alternate beater, hadn't noticed Fletcher and the bludger that was coming for Theodore. She groaned and flew closer to him. "Sorry, I'll get the next one!" she told him and then immediately went off to search for one to hit herself. Maia pushed herself forward on her broomstick, trying to catch up to a bludger and stretched out her arm. Quickly making the choice who to aim it at, Maia hit the iron ball and send it towards Fletcher.

With her reflexes on point since her talk from Brendan, Fletcher spotted the bludger coming towards her from Maia. As she turned herself in the sky in time to hit it before it collided with her, she grinned as she sent it straight back to the beater. Once again though while she may have have been able to hit it, her aim was off. She watched in annoyance as it headed towards Jamie instead, wondering whether it would count that she was a good player of she couldn't control the target.

Elvira watched as Maia sent a bludger at Fletcher and watched as the girl managed to hit it away before she was hurt. These two beaters were clearly talented, and Elvira hoped they would do as well during the match. She also hoped she herself would do a little better, as she still saw no sign of the snitch anywhere.

Brendan tracked the quaffles progress, flying nearby in case he was needed to take possession. So far, the other chasers hadn't been so lucky, but against Celine, he could hardly blame them.

Theodore felt a lot safer with Maia nearby to guard him from any oncoming bludgers, and he turned his attention entirely to searching for the snitch, no longer feeling the need to be aware of the other balls in the game. He was quite surprised then, to suddenly feel an iron ball slam into him from the side. "Hurk." He coughed, a mixture of surprise and pain. The boy gave Maia a sad, clearly betrayed look, upset that his trust had been misplaced. Fletcher he was even more upset with. He'd said please, and she'd still hit him. Rubbing away at his watering eyes, Lacroix resumed his snitch searching, though was now back to being very aware of where the bludgers were.

Nadine tried not to focus on what the beaters were doing, though she felt very tense and nervous about the possibility of being hit again. She flew close to the hoops and threw the quaffle with all her might. She beamed as she watched the Quaffle sailed through one of the hoops. She had done it!

Cheryl flew along with the young chaser as she took posession again and smiled as she saw the girl score. It was a good shot, and Cheryl hoped that she would make her own goal too. She loved the fact that this was a team sport, and she liked to work together. But Cheryl wanted to be succesfull too. The blonde took posession of the quaffle again as it came back into the game. It was more fun with two keepers, but she gave Celine time to be alert again, so flew another round on the field.

Elvira was glad the youngest member of the team had managed to score and gave the girl a thumbs up in passing. She glanced at Theodore, hoping the kid was okay. She knew being hit by bludgers was the worst, but it was part of the sport.

She felt bad for not noticing the bludger Fletcher had aimed towards Theodore earlier and so continued to fly circles around the young seeker, now more than ever determined to defend him.

Cheryl arrived at the three hoops as she ended her round. The blonde told herself positive things and after flying towards the hoops she threw the ball hard and it went through one of the rings! Cheryl cheered as she managed to score and was glad she still could do it.

After a couple of minutes of circling around Theodore, Maia was confident enough that not much would happen to the youngest Seeker in the team. Flashing him a smile, she turned around and started looking for bludgers again.
