Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

It was great to see the young chaser take first possession of the quaffle, though if she had managed it on her own accord, or because the others were going easy on her, Brendan couldn't be sure. He tracked her progress toward the hoops, hovering nearby, and was unsurprised to see Celine make the save. There was little chance against such an experienced Keeper, but the captain admired the young girls effort all the same. As the quaffle was thrown back into play, Brendan deftly caught it and tucked it beneath his arm, before flying back toward the center of the pitch.

Once again, Theodore found himself missing all of the main action. Someone had tried to score, someone else had hit a bludger, but he was too far to keep up with it all, doing his best to find the elusive snitch and hoping that maybe it was keeping to the safety of the outskirts of the pitch boundary.

Celine watch the young chaser's approach carefully, and darted over to the save the Quaffle as the other girl tossed it toward the hoop. It was probably a little discouraging for her, but Celine thought it would be more discouraging for the rest of the team if she herself managed to miss the shot thrown by the young player. She tossed the Quaffle back out into play, and then trained her eyes on Brendan as he caught it. Celine was aware that she could never rely on making an easy save against her captain, even if she had become quite familiar with his usual playing style.

Fletcher kept her eyes peeled as the Chasers took possession of the Quaffle, her attention split between searching for another bludger and making sure her teammates were in the clear. At least this time round she hadn't taken anyone out herself, but she would still prefer to hit the bludger once for herself to practise her aim.

Brendans broom met with the halfway point, and he quickly diverted his oath back towards the way he had come, giving Celine the ample time to prepare that she'd have in a regular match. It was a shame they didnt have a secondary Keeper to work with, a backup for the team when Celine graduated, but that was how things were going to be, it seemed.

Scouring the edges for the snitch was proving fruitless, and Theodore flew back toward the guarded hoops to check there instead, keeping a close eye out in the meantime for any stray, or intentionally directed bludgers.

Maia saw Fletcher going for the bludger she sent towards Elvira and turned around to circle around the Quidditch Pitch once more, confident in the other Beater's skill to defend their Seeker. While she was flying around another bludger came for her. Again, she swung her bat against the iron ball and aimed it for the Theodore. However, it went off course and flew towards the Alternate Chaser instead.

Celine was rather enjoying the quick turn around her being the only keeper on the team afforded her. She watched Brendan as he came ever closer, readying herself for his attempt at the hoops.

Cheryl was a bit on the late side but she was more happy than ever. She had played well last year and now she made the team completly as a chaser. She smiled as she entered the practice spot and listend to the explanation of Brendan. The blonde liked the boy he was nice and gave everybody a chance. When the game started she kicked off from the ground and flew quickly. The blonde smiled as the young alternate chaser took the quaffle. It reminded of herself last year. It was a shame she missed, but there were chances enough she figured. Than Brendan took possesion and she flew close to him in case he needed a hand.

Elvira was keeping an eye on the alternate chaser as she attempted to score when suddenly she was hit in the side with a bludger. Groaning, she veered to the side, letting go of her broom with one hand to cluch the spot the bludger had hit. She noticed how Fletcher had tried to stop it but had just been too late. She gave the redhead a weak smile before giving Maia an even weaker thumbs up. Somehow, she seemed to always get hit during practice.

After doing a lap, Nadine was curious to see who had the quaffle now. It was Brendan, one of their captains. She watched as he approached the hoops, but then was caught off guard as a bludger flew at her and hit her in the leg. She cried out in pain, her hands flying to her leg automatically. With that, her broom started spiraling down towards the ground as she lost control over it and she only managed at the last moment to get it to move up again. Tears stung in her eyes, and she sent a fiery glare at the beater as she rubbed the spot on her leg that now burned with pain.

Maia seemed to be doing well at hitting bludgers this game, unlike Fletcher. The fourth year was doing her best to defend her teammates but always seemed a little late to the game. Trying not to feel too guilty as she saw the newest alt chaser get hit, she flew off quickly to try and get the bludgers back under control.

Theodores focus on the snitch hunt lapsed as one of the new girls got hit by a bludger and almost nose-dived into the ground. The boy stared in shock at how close to disaster she'd come, but since she seemed to recover he quickly snapped out of it and resumed his searching.

Fulke had to tune out what was happening around him as he entered the scoring zone to focus on the hoops, and where he thought Celine was currently weakest. Quickly braking, the redhead used the remaining momentum to toss the quaffle through the right-most hoop, and watched as it just sailed through. He grinned, raising his fist in victory, and flew back out of the scoring zone to wait for the quaffle to be thrown back into play. In his time to score, he'd missed the new chaser almost plummet to the ground, but now that he had a spare moment everything seemed fine. Elvira was there to keep an eye out on things, too, so he trusted everything to go well.

Eventaully Fletcher found what she was looking for. Raising her bat as she came across another bludger, she waited patiently for the perfect time to swing, aiming for the youngest seeker. She smacked the ball perfectly, watching it sail through the air, that was until it began to curve in the breeze and miss the blonde completely, and Fletcher grimaced as it struck their sole keeper instead.

Celine vaguely saw the new chaser girl get hit by a bludger, and she would have been more concerned for the girl if Brendan hadn't picked just about that exact moment to make his attempt at goal. Although Celine tried her best to save the Quaffle as it shot towards the hoop, she wasn't quite quick enough to bat it out of the way and had to watch it sail freely through instead. It wasn't an unexpected outcome, and Celine merely retrieved the ball and threw it back out towards the chasers. She was more worried about the new girl, and was just looking over to see how she was faring when all of a sudden a bludger slammed into her own hip out of nowhere. Both Celine and her broom were pushed sideways in the air from the impact, but while at first she assumed that it had been the cause of a rogue bludger, she soon realised that she hadn't been paying any attention to where any of the team's beaters were. Maybe she should have been. Celine hissed in pain, and tried to focus back on the practice. She hadn't been a hit by a bludger for a while now; she'd largely forgotten the absolute force of their punch.

Many things happened fast and Grace had to try not getting distracted as a bludger that was hit by one of the beaters, something Grace was admiring from her position since she didn’t think she had that much strength in her arms to do it herself like that, changed course and the other beater tried to hit it but missed. Grace saw a chance and she quickly flew to where the other bludger was headed, trying to get to it before Elvira was hit. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she realised she was close to the ball, if she could just reach a little further. Unfortunately for her and for Elvira, Grace had been too far away to stop it from hitting the older girl. She winced as she watched the impact, and felt guilty for not having reached her sooner. She sighed, changing paths and flying in another direction, hoping to hit a bludger soon.

Fletcher didn't like to hit her teammates, but unless she tried she wouldn't know how to aim in real match against players. Hitting something stationary was one thing butlearning about another moving target was a whole new ball game.Spotting another bludger she flew through the air after it, Hoping to do her captain's proud.

A bludger came uncomfortably close to Theodore, and with a slight panic he watched it sail past him, and continue on to hit the keeper instead. He felt sorry for her, but it was overshadowed by his relief that it hadn't been him that had gotten hit. Deciding he was once more done being a part of the busy side of the pitch, Theo returned to seeking the snitch a little further away, where it was safer.

Rather than continuing to play the attacking role, Maia decided to switch it up and work on her defence. Catching up to Elvira, which wasn't an easy task at all, the fifth year flew around the Seeker to try and protect her from any incoming bludgers.

A lot was happening and Elvira couldn't really keep track. She noticed Fletcher hit a bludger, and she grimaced as it headed into the direction of Theodore. She felt protective over the kid, even if he was also her main competition. But the bludger didn't hit him, instead it sailed right past and hit Celine instead. Wincing, she considered flying over to her friend but she knew she had to keep looking for the snitch. People got hit during practice, it was part of the game. She noticed Maia nearby and gave her a small smile. It was nice that she was trying to protect her. At least it would probably mean she wouldn't hit her with a bludger anytime soon.

Nadine was glad no one really commented on her embarrassing near-accident, and she quickly tried to look as if nothing was wrong. She spotted Brendan attempting to score, and sighed softly as he did. To be that good would be wonderful, and there was only one way to achieve that. Heedless of if perhaps it was rude not to give another chaser a turn, she flew up to grab the Quaffle. After nearly losing control, she wanted badly to prove herself.

It was admirable to see the newest chaser trying so hard to do well, and it gave Brendan more confidence for the future of the team. The captain followed after her as she flew off with the quaffle, in case she needed to make a pass, or just needed assistance in general.

It seemed that no one was safe from bludgers out on the pitch, and Fletcher hoped that anyone that got hit wouldn't take it personally. The red head moved through the air with her bat always held out a little way in front of her ready for locating a bludger, and watched closely as the younger Chaser tried again to score a goal.

The telltale glimmer of gold in the distance had Theodores heart leaping, and the young boy jetted towards it in hopes of catching it. Alas, it darted off before he could get close, and with a frown he blindly followed in the direction he thought he'd seen it go, keeping his eyes peeled for another glimmer.
