Irene Finch stood in the front of the room, facing the door. Before the end of the lesson, she hoped that all of the students would succeed in apparating directly to their target, especially since this would be the last practice they would have before the exam took place at the end of the semester. Judging by how the previous lesson had gone when one boy had simply tried hopping into his hoop, some of them had a lot of work to do.

Irene addressed the small group of sixth years. "Today, we will resume practicing" she began, her icy blue eyes staring at each of the students in turn as she spoke. "I am hopeful that those of you who weren't able to apparate last week will do so this week." She looked at one boy in particular, skeptical that he would succeed. "The next time we meet will be your exam and you will only get one opportunity to succeed or fail. Your test will require you to be accurate when you apparate, so today, I'd like everyone to line up beside me."

It didn't take them long to queue beside her. "Alright...I'd like you all to attempt apparating from this end of the Great Hall to that end" she said, pointing towards the doors of the Great Hall.

" The red X marks the spot" she added, knowing that they had probably noticed an X etched onto the floor with magic as they walked in. Glancing at all the students beside her, she hoped there would be no splinchings today. "You can begin whenever you're ready" she said to the student who was first in line. "As soon as you feel comfortable, you may leave. But, please do remember that this is your final opportunity to practice before your exam." They were adults by wizarding standards or close enough anyway, so she wasn't going to force any of them to stay. It was in their best interests to take advantage of the time though.

Practice attempting to apparate one by one. Practice as many times as you'd like. Please warn me via PM if you plan on splinching.Apparition,6,3

Victoire couldn't believe that they were already in week five and though she hadn't thought this term would be that quick but as they were in week five it had just flown in and she was intensely stepping up her studying to account for the up coming exams, just glad that this year unlike the last she only had a small set of exams that she needed to worry about learning everything, just a couple of exams which to her after the OWLs were essentially nothing. And after her last semester's exams she knew it wouldn't be too much of an issue, she definitely hadn't done badly in any of those classes. So despite it rushing towards the end of term and the end of another school year, she knew that her exams would be fine. There was a freedom that came with the end of the term and the fact she was learning how to apparate that meant she had so many more possibilities open to her, to them so much more than Victoire had ever experience before. The teen was excited and placed all of her books with her bag packing up her things to go to the room.

Perfecting the appirition was a top priority, she needed to learn it, and she needed to pass it. The girl walked into the great hall and looked to the woman who was taking the class, and then realised how soon she was going to have to sit this test and so focused her mind on what she needed to do, lining up with the rest of the students. Victoire wasn't sure if she would really get it, but she was sure that since she'd managed it last semester she was in pretty good standing to do as well as she had done. The teen ended up being first to try and with all the confidence that she had walked up to the where she needed to be and focused her mind on the X in front of her. She needed to centre her mind and did so, remembering what they were to taught and then felt the tug and let herself just fall into it, and all too soon she was at the X, having successfully managed it. The teen was pretty pleased with herself and glanced at the rejoined the end of the queue to give it another go if there was enough time.

Avie's life when it came to classes wasn't usually great, he got bored and his attendance to the few he did usually fell away, but that was to be expected really, the fact he was trying hard to learn to read with his second favourite professor of all time was helping him marginally but really he knew in his mind it was too late to ever be able to get better grades, his abysmal OWL grades were etched in stone and the Slytherin teen couldn't help but feel utterly clueless about what the future awaited him, he didn't know what was to come and couldn't help but feel nervous about it. The boy wanted to do well, so he could prove that he could but Avie realised now that it was simply impossible. The teen however had the apparition class, and though he hadn't managed to do it last time he was sure he'd manage it this time. His lack of magic power aside he was sticking to the spells from his younger years which he could do and this spell was just beyond him, entirely beyond him, this magic he was never going to be able to do, but he felt he owed to himself to give it his best shot.

The teen entered the room, following in behind Lucien and Esme and feeling a little sick from the nerves he was feeling over it. The boy realised quickly that he was going to have to try to do it in front of everyone and unlike with quidditch he wasn't going to excel and gain a little trophy at the end. The boy listened along completely unaware that she'd likely made a reference to him, but he couldn't even remember what they were supposed to know to be able to do this and instead just focused his attention on watching everyone else. He ended up being pretty early on, though he'd wanted to go last in their small sixth year class. Avie was suddenly in front of the class and he was looking towards the X at the other side of the room, but his concentration broke every few seconds and he just wasn't getting it, and he was more visibly annoyed at himself over it, he just wanted to be good at something. He looked to the teacher and then tried to focus again, but like prior times it just didn't work. He decided he would try again in a bit, let others have a go, so Avie walked away and proceeded to empty out his pockets, placing all the stones he brought, Rockie, on the ground and pulling off his robes and jumper. The final thing he took out was the little snitch that he'd taken to carrying around, it brought an odd amount of comfort and reassurance that perhaps if he did well in quidditch next semester he might get an opportunity to play professionally. He walked up to try again and let the little snitch go, it flew to the other end of the room, and Avie concentrated on it, he focused on being there to catch it, and slowly he began to feel something a tug. The problem was, he was startled by this feeling and it immediately broke his concentration causing him to pull away and trip up over his own feet. The teen was disheartened a little freaked out, but by this point the class was over and Avie just gathered up his things, his many rocks and left the great hall, feeling a little down at his inability to do it.

Massimiliano was hyper aware that this particular course was coming to an end before his very eyes. Without fail, it always took him time to adapt, but he managed it well enough in his opinion. He didn't feel like he was utterly failing at apparating - in fact, he felt rather good about it. Very good, in fact. He wasn't sure until it came to exams, however, as that would be the main decider, he was sure. But he wanted this license, because it would surely make life a lot easier in the long run.

Max kneaded his fingers. X marked the spot, and it was a fairly distanced spot at that. They had to be accurate - which was fair enough. He couldn't imagine the horror if he wanted to apparate to some place and ended up stuck in a wall or something. He shuddered once more. This was getting scarier the more he thought about it - so he did his best not to. He would only frighten himself if he did that. He concentrated on the spot, ignoring the success and failures of all those around him - he didn't have time for that. The first attempted made him feel sick and light headed, and he took a moment before trying again. He hadn't hit the mark, but he got a foot within its area, so that was something. The third attempt was much more successful, and he managed another before the class ended.

An X? thought Saul in horror. The hoop was a small enough target as it was, but the X was even smaller, and they could only try one at a time, which meant that everyone was watching. To be fair, everyone had been watching when he'd apparated his nose open, but not all at once like this. There wasn't much of a choice one way or another, and he had to get his license to be a legit wizard. Saul felt proper sorry for the Slytherin kid, Avie, who hadn't managed much more than falling over.

Saul lurked at the back until he girded his loins and stepped up to the plate, so to speak. Destination, Determination- *Crack*. The Hufflepuff student wobbled in place, standing a little left of the X they were meant to be aiming for. Well, it was better than a poke in the eye, and much better than last lesson! Saul was rather proud of himself until he turned to the mutterings of other students. He'd left a good four inches of hair behind him, shorn right off in a neat oval shape behind his ear.

"Sh!te," muttered the Irishman, and next Brightstone weekend he was down at the barber's trying to fix up the splinching hack-job. At least it wasn't his ear.
