Apparition,6,1Each year, Irene Finch represented the Ministry in coming to the school to give the students the tools they would need to pass their apparition exam. When the students began to enter the Great Hall, Irene stood up and vanished her seat. She crossed her arms, her Ministry robes settling themselves against her ankles as she waited to begin.

"Good afternoon, sixth years. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene paced the front as she spoke. "Headmistress King has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

The woman looked at a student in the front, her blue eyes piercing into the student. "I will warn you from the start that your ability to apparate will have little to do with what house you are in or your blood status. Your ability to apparate will only depend on your ability to focus on the three Ds: Destination.Determination. Deliberation." She pronounced each word slowly and loudly, punctuated by the click of her heels, so that even the students standing in the back of the room could hear her. "If you fail to understand these concepts, you will fail your exam. First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years who had been whispering while she was lecturing and continued, "you must move with deliberation like so." She gave the student a sharp look.

Moving towards the front of the room, Irene continued lecturing the students. She knew that some were probably expecting to apparate today but she also knew that the foundation for apparating started with this information. Soon enough their time was up. "Don't forget the 3 Ds and I will see you all next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything but yourselves to the next lesson. The less you carry, the easier it will be. If you have any questions, I can remain for a few moments to answer them." She smiled briefly, her attempt at appearing warm and inviting, but then her face turned serious again as she remembered something she had nearly forgotten to tell the students. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder...the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next time we meet. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place.

When it came to lessons throughout the year, few particularly stood out to Esmè - Namely Divination, but this year held an entirely new subject that the Slytherin girl had almost forgotten about. Apparition. One of the most important subjects for every witch and wizard to learn, and Esmè was determined to master it as quickly as she was possibly capable. As she entered the Great Hall with the other participating sixth year, the girl kept an eye out for a couple of them in particular. Avie, of all, she particularly wanted to find. If anyone could mess apparition up horribly, it would be him. She just hoped he didn't lose an arm throughout the term.

Listening as the Ministry employee introduced herself, and upon learning that the anti-apparition enchantments had been revoked, the Slytherin had hopes that they could begin to practice immediately. While it was explained that a person's capabilities in this particular branch of magic had nothing to with their house or blood status, Irene seemed to stare at her directly. Esmè had her doubts that the statement was true, and perhaps it had shown. No one from some peasant no-maj background could possibly outdo the purebloods. While it may not have been a proven fact, the Slytherin adamantly believed that the purer the blood, the purer the magic.

In what felt like too short of an amount of time, Irenes lecture came to an end, leaving the seeress dismayed. The three D's were repeated over and over in her mind as she prepared to leave - hoping to achieve some actual progress during their next lesson.

Avie had stayed at school during the holidays, spending most of his time ghost hunting, which had been a rather fruitless experience, but he was happy, and that was what matter. The boy thought of his mother fondly but the less the ghosts wanted to tell him the more he was really realising she was never coming back, not even in ghost form, and though this might've usually upset Avie he had decided that a new outlook would be better, or really more that he didn't like being angry any more, he didn't like wondering about it, and he just wanted to have fun with Lucien and no have to worry about anything else. The teen had done better in the last semesters classes, doing a little better than he'd ever done before, which was a good thing, after his abysmal OWL results the teen was happier knowing he wasn't going to flunk that badly. The reading help was providing slow help, Avie got distracted easily, sat just watching the cartoons and not focusing, but it was more than anyone had ever done for him before, and he was pretty thankful for that.

The apparition exam had been something his aunt when he'd last seen her had told him to never do, Avie hadn't thought it could be that hard after all, it was some practical magic instead of just being him having to learn theory so the teen went in with a positive attitude, marvelling at the emptiness of the hall as it lack the usual tables and chairs. He jumped excited next to Lucien and tried to find Esme in the crowd so he could wave happily at her, but his attempts to find her were a little thwarted when the teacher at the from began speaking. This only stopped him for a moment before he continued looking at crowd in search of Esme, and choosing that time to also wave at the others he knew before eventually settling down when the professor stated the three d's, of which he knew he couldn't do one, and hardly knew the definition of another. But, the teen listened as the professor spoke, getting quickly bored and just taking a seat on the ground until they were at long last dismissed.

Jean had been looking forward to these lessons forever, so he was one of the first to enter the Great Hall to find a spot. It was odd to see the room so empty, and it looked enormous today with so few students inside. As the woman at the head of the room began speaking, Jean crossed his arms so he could listen. She introduced herself as a Ministry Official and spoke about the enchantment being lifted from the room. Jean could feel the excitement building in him, figuring that they'd get to practicing right away. That was an exciting prospect. Jean knew that if he could apparate, he could easily travel anywhere without his family knowing. He wouldn't have to explain why he needed to use the family's stash of floo powder, and he really would be able to meet Victoire whenever and where ever he wanted to. And, he still easily recalled Victoire's suggestion for them once they learned to apparate. If anything, that was really all the motivation that he needed.

He wasn't exactly sure that blood status had nothing to do with it. Surely, the purebloods in the room would figure this out first. He was confident in that. He was also confident that Victoire would easily catch up. Even though she was muggle born, she was smart and worked hard and that often made her skills surpass those of the purebloods around her. The woman, Ms. Finch, began to explain how to apparate, and Jean tried his best to pay attention. It sounded easy enough, and it wasn't as if he had never seen anyone apparate before or done it himself. He side-along apparated all the time. He knew the feeling of it, and he was ready, figuring that they'd start practicing now.

Then, the woman ended the lesson and Jean looked at his fellow sixth years incredulously, surprise and disappointed marking his face as he left the Great Hall.

It was a new semester for her at school, and Victoire had a lot be doing, she had enjoyed the holidays back home, it had been nice to just sit with her family back in Belgium and enjoy the winter together, it had lacked snow, but it hadn't lacked company and it had been warm and inviting. Her siblings had all enjoyed it too, and the one left out of the magic appeared to be coming round to the idea as he excelled far more, and had clearly become their father's favourite, but all in all, it had been a good break for her, she'd missed Jean, and it had been difficult to not see him or be able to write to him at all, but she was happy to have spent the holidays away from it all and within the muggle world she was usually so far from. However with a new term just beginning it brought with it new experiences, classes and a whole host of other exciting things, the prefect wasn't sure what would happen over the next few months but she was excited for it.

Today was a different day however as she was attending the apparition class, and this was something that Victoire had been looking forward to since she had learned about it, soon she'd be seventeen, have the ability to apparate and no longer would she had to take long and boring flights to either their family home in Australia or back to Belgium, which was significantly longer. The blonde walked into the hall and then stood in amongst the crowd of students looking at the front where the professor stood beginning the class. Victoire smiled at her as she listened along to what was being said, she didn't think that she would get to try it that day, but she was still listening eager to what was being said about it, listening to what they had to do. The lesson seemed to be over pretty quickly and Victoire noted what she said about the next one before gathering up her things and leaving the room.

It was the second semester already and Massimiliano was quite excited for what was to come. He had one new class this year he had never had before - apparation. He had never really seen apparating properly before, whilst with other subjects he sort of knew the ins and outs through books and his tutor in the past. It wasn't even in a classroom - it was in the Great Hall, and this only made Massimiliano more excited for what was to come.

He stood with his fellow sixth years and listened carefully as their professor began the lesson. He wasn't sure if he could manage apparating today, so he was glad that they wouldn't have to. He was happy to just listen for now and think about what would be needed to tackle this new class. The lesson ended and the Ravenclaw nodded. He thought about the three Ds as he left the hall.

Now this was a lesson Saul could get excited about. Laura had teased him to absolute death when she got her license back in Hogwarts Scotland, popping up during Saul's study sessions at home and scaring the life out of him while he was on the john. If all went well in the next three lessons, he was gonna get his own back. Saul nudged and whispered with his mates during the beginning, too excited to listen, but he soon regretted it after the examiner apparated right next to him and pulled a Laura. He got his head in the game after that, and paid attention to the ... three D's? Snickering, Saul tried to keep his focus after that rather suggestive study procedure.

It turned out that the 'D's stood for 'Determination, Deliberation, Destination,' not '****, Dong' or 'Drilling', which was mildly disappointing but not at all surprising. He hoped that he'd at least gotten them in the right order (he hadn't) when he left repeating "Determination, Drilling, no- Destination, Dong- shoot."
