Closed An Easy Misunderstanding

It felt good be back on the pitch and Sully was enjoying being back working with his chaser squad. And Chloë in particular. They'd hung out some over the holidays when Sully didn't have work (and even a bit when he did), and he had to admit they made a great team on or off the pitch.

Taking advantage of a lull in practice, Sully swooped over to where Chloë was hovering with Noel, scrubbing a hand through his hair to make sure it was appropriately mussed before propping his arms on the end of his broom; the imagine of casual. "Hey, I was thinking we should hit up the Valentine's dance together," He said breezily, smiling easily.

Chloë had been happy to get back to quidditch practice, to get to play alongside her friends again. They seemed to be doing quite okay so far and she was sure that they’d be absolutely fine in their upcoming game. That wasn’t the only thing on her mind during this training though as she was also very aware that the valentine’s dance was coming up and she had been wondering if Sully might ask her to go together. They’d hung out over the break a couple of times and she enjoyed it, now a hundred percent sure that she liked her friend as more than just that.

Chloë was hoovering next to Noel for a second, about to ask him what he was going to do for valentine’s, since she was pretty sure he still had Minnie on his mind, when Sully flew up to them. She was a bit surprised he’d ask her with Noel right there though, looking at him for a second before turning her head back to Sully. “Uh, yeah, that’d be cool.” She smiled at him, still curious as to how Noel might respond. Especially since he once told her he thought Sully and her would be a good fit.

Noel was not really looking forward to the Valentines Dance. It was an painfull memory of when he went with Minnie and celebrating love and stuff. He was wondering if Minnie would go with someone, if she did he would be done with her. He was done with her he tried to tell himself, but it was difficult. His head said no, but his heart said yes. But now he would focus on practice, quidditch was important to him. And something he did together with friends. And his friends were important to him, they sticked with him at least. Being close to Sully and Noel, he heard Sully asking they could go to Valentines dance together. Noel than smiled, kind of relieved he didn't want to go alone. And spending time with his friends would at least make the evening better. '' That would be great. Going together. For sure!'' Noel than said back and smiled. He was happy his friends thought of him. He though always had the feeling Sully and Chloe were an match, so perhaps this was an way to couple them also. He was their number one fan, for sure. '' I mean.. I was not really looking forward to it. With Minnie and all.. all those memories.'' Noel than told them. He could use some fun night. ​

Sully opened his mouth, ready to laugh and tell Noel he hadn't been even close to talking to him, but he faltered when Noel mentioned Minnie, glancing at Chloë and seeing she was watching Noel as well. Having Noel third wheeling with him and Chloë on the most romantic night of the year had not been high on Sully's list of things he wanted to do, but Noel was also one of his best friends, and he couldn't exactly just ditch his mate when he was hurting. He caught Chloë's eye, trying to mutely communicate that this hadn't been what he'd been planning, before tilting his head in a half-shrug of acceptance. "Yeah uh, forget her, mate, us three'll have a great night without her," Sully said, scratching awkwardly at his neck as he mentally kissed his date night with Chloë goodbye.

Chloë didn’t quite know what to do with Noel’s response and she could tell Sully was about to laugh it off untill Noel mentioned Minnie and she immediately felt bad for him. She had been there right after their break-up and although it was now a couple of months later she knew he still struggled with it. She gave Sully a small smile when he looked at her as if to say that it was okay. Sure, she had been wishing he’d ask her and her heart fluttered for a second when he did but Noel was their friend and she had the idea they both felt like they couldn’t leave him sulking around the valentine’s dance on his own. “Definitely!” Chloë nodded in agreement with Sully. “We’re way more fun anyways.” She smiled as she slightly nudged Noel with her elbow although carefully since they were still up in the air. It might not be what she had hoped for but she was sure they’d all have fun anyways.

Noel smiled shortly as he heard his friends spoke. They were the best. '' Yeah right. I need to forget her. I'm kind of pissed, she didn't even spoke to me once again. And all because some stupid prefect badge.'' Noel than said with an sight, he couldn't believe it. Minnie just broke up with him because of that and her parents wishes. He than grinned to Chloe. '' For sure. Chaser squad let's go!'' He than said with an grin.
