Hello, all!
It should come as no surprise to any of you when we that life is busy. This is true for me, definitely true for Cyndi, and I suspect it's true for you as well. This season of life seems to be particularly busy, and Cyndi & I have come to the conclusion that we could use some help doing the things you've come to expect of us: processing applications, opening and closing forums, maintaining peace and civility among all. In short: admin things.
It's not an easy role to fill. HNZ has a lot of history, a lot of personalities and interpersonal dynamics, a lot of things to learn about behind the scenes, and it's a pretty big commitment. We've got a great team of people here on HNZ, but when looking to see who could best help us keep up with all the admin things that need doing we decided that Donna would be the best fit for our working dynamic and for the site itself. Donna has been a part of our moderating team for over three years now (promoted just a bit after Cyndi was made an admin!) and in that time she has proved to be a thoughtful and caring member of the team - she's a friendly face on the site for everybody, kind to everybody except for me (and sometimes I need a little unkindness to keep me in line) and we're confident she'll do a great job working with us in continuing HNZ's tradition of capable people in the admin role.
Please be patient with us as we go through the variety of site documentation and update it to reflect any new changes, and go easy on Donna as we begin to bring her through the ins and outs of being an admin!
Join us in welcoming our newest "darkmagenta" - Donna, who I know will do an awesome job and Cyndi and I look forward to a closer working relationship with.
