[Miles Flynn]

Posting this up very early because I want to make an attempt of getting organized for Y50 and otherwise I will probably just forget until the last second so uuuuuh here's a PD.

Miles Flynn . Gryffindor . Third Year​

So, here we are with my only child, Miles. He's heading into his third year and is looking to try and keep the good times going. Last year he got onto the Quidditch team as a chaser which was his dream (and they won the cup) so he's pretty pleased with that, kept up activities with Theo co-president'ing the Unofficial Quidditch Club they set up together during first year, and managed to come runner-up in the duelling tournament - losing to one of his friends so he doesn't mind so much about it. Oh yeah, he's also a werewolf and still has managed not to openly tell anyone that little fact yet. Not even people he considers his best friends. His own SIBLINGS still don't know about it. Looking for all sorts of things with him. He's a nice guy, loves to chat and try and make friends, and is rather outgoing and happy with starting up a conversation. Now he's getting older he's more inclined to try and look out for some of the new firsties so if anyone wants to mentor of sorts then Miles is your guy! Anything quidditch related is great, he also loved duelling and wants to try and get better so anything around that as well would be FAB. He's also a mediator and likes sticking his nose into arguments because he really doesn't like conflict much and just wants people to be happy. LOOKING FOR DRAMA time for his nice reality of never having to mention his lycanthropy to come falling down and for people to finally find about his furry secret please give me the drama. ALSO as a side-note, I'm still open for some people to take on some of his siblings. So if you have the itch for a new firstie this year (or in any upcoming year tbh), then maybe hit me up. You get to thread with me and Maria who writes Eloise. You get family drama of a messy divorce and their father and eldest sibling both being werewolves and not mentioning it. It's all fun, and I've never mentioned how many siblings Miles actually has - so give me all the sibs thanks.

i have a couple of ideas for you!! for obvious reasons, i’d like to offer theo and eloise hehe! not sure in specifics just yet but they are there to be offered! i’m also to happy offer theo for the werewolve aspect of miles, for support of course (theo would be a little more understanding than for the drama aspect) so whenever you feel ready for miles to let theo about it, he’ll be there hehe!

this was an interesting thought, but i can also offer theo’s brother, oliver for miles too! oliver is joining hogwarts this upcoming year and is rlly into quidditch! more so than theodore is - i can see oliver joining the unofficial club as well as maybe even pestering miles with questions - even though he has a brother who could answer questions for him, he just wants other opinions on things as well quidditch wise haha!

For Miles I have Doyle Mooney who is my kid in his year. I think they are probably at least vague acquaintances since they're both on their house's quidditch team and duelled against each other. Since hes Hufflepuff's alt. keeper I could seem them practicing a bit together. I really want Doyle to start a semi regular poker game night or something with some people this year if Miles wanted to be a part of that? Also for the werewolf stuff, Doyle is a muggleborn and is a little freaked out by all these once fictional creatures being real and all that, so if the rumor comes out about him being a werewolf I could see Doyle maybe taking it badly and being scared of him. Something he could get over pretty quickly after a conversation or two but for THE DRAMA it could be fun.

I really lke the mutual dislike between Logan and Miles. Logan is still not going to make the team probably because Vanity is still on it. (I'm thinking I might have him get sick or injured before trying out this year because I can only RP him not getting it so many times without having to RP him being bad at it lol) so I think he will be extra mad about Quidditch this year. Which means he might get into a bigger fight with Miles. I'm also happy for him to find out about the lycanthropy if you want, though I am not sure what he would do with that information.

Yes yes ofc ofc. We could always try and cook up some fun Flynn family school break drama if you were up for something like that with our lovely siblings. Or just something a little more chill once they're back at school if you would prefer something like that. And as for Theo, I'm totally up for him finally finding out about the werewolf stuff this year! Hard part is working out how he'd find out though because Miles is still too much of a coward to come clean about it himself because he's scared of a negative reaction and cares too much about losing his friend.

I'm totally up for Miles/Oliver as well!! He'd probably be happy to answer any questions or practice together at first but he might end up getting a little annoyed with all the questioning, haha.

I don't think these two have ever actually threaded before outside of classes and the duelling tournament, so very happy to change that! Miles would totally up for that poker thing, though he probably has no idea how to actually play, but he'd be there for the vibes. But I do love THE DRAMA as well so if we can work out some way for Doyle to end up finding out about it that could be fun to write!

Haha yesss, their mutual dislike of each other has been starting to get worse and pushing towards full-blown hatred of each other so that could be fun to play out if it all comes to a head this year. And Quidditch can totally be the catalyst for that (though I don't see Miles full making fun of Logan for not making the team again, unless Logan decides to be an arse about it then he'd probably get snappy lol). Also happy for him to find out about the werewolf stuff as well, as for what he'd do with it... well happy to see where that one goes. If he's the spreading rumours sort, then Logan could be the reason the whole thing gets out in the first place

yess that’s completely understandable! if theo had heard it through rumours, theo would be the type to confront him about it - he’d be hurt by it at first, finding out through rumours instead of miles directly, but he’ll be supportive nevertheless, connecting the dots as to why things slowly are starting to make sense. i’m thinking of other potential ideas of how theo could find out, but my mind is blank but i do like the idea of theo stumbling upon it some how and then straight up confront him about it, unless u may have other ideas? that’s totally cool too!

I don't think Miles needs to make fun of Logan for it to blow up, Logan is going to be incredibly frustrated and jealous

Hmmmmm is Theo taking DADA? Because from my stalking and such the first two 3rd year lessons are about werewolves, and Miles is going to be acting super weird about it for obvious reasons. And even if he isn't taking the class, he could hear about it his behaviour from someone else, so maybe Theo can confront him about it from that? As an idea. Or maybe he finally catches onto the moon cycle with Miles's fluctuating tiredness and grouchiness and the fact he vanishes around the full moon and finally put two and two together.

Whoops! Sorry for taking so long to reply, but sounds good! I think a good place to start might be for them to get a bit closer as friends, whether its through quiddich and/or their mutual dislike of Logan could be a good. Not to derail what you and Daph were working on but, could be a thread where Doyle and Miles are talking about the teams they made and Logan could roll up and spoil it?? If it really blows up Doyle will try and defuse with probably limited luck since I imagine he's the scrawnier of the three haha.

Alrighty, I've got some ideas, you don't have to go with all of them but I thought I'd throw them at you:

Aroha - On the quidditch team and also loves quidditch, also enjoys duelling. She's sixth year, so could be a sort of mentor figure? She's also an eldest sibling, so she could relate to him that way too potentially.

Ivara - Kind of a wild card this one. She's a second year, her main deal is she loves frogs. She's the kind to be stunningly perceptive in some instances, and incredibly ignorant in others. So maybe she figures out that Miles is a werewolf somehow? She wouldn't actually be concerned or scared about it (she's a bit odd) but she could become an unlikely friend of sorts and stays by his side when others don't.

Hēmi - Drama unrelated to werewolves, and dependent on doing the Aroha plot. He's Aroha's younger brother, so I could picture him getting annoyed that Aroha's paying more attention to Miles than to him. Hēmi would most likely be passive-aggressive about it.

Let me know what you think! Pick and choose, go with them all, or I'm open to different ideas as well.
