Leda was not usually someone who found situations nerve-wracking, even her wedding had been a somewhat straight forward and pleasant affair, even if her cousin had decided to over take it near the end for a two in one combo deal. Life just happened around them whether or not they were ready for it, and Leda liked to keep open and updated with developments, it was pointless getting nervous about it all. Besides, if something did happen, she knew she'd be able to handle it and get to where she needed to be, even if people tried to get in her way. This event however was not quite as calm, or at least, Leda was pretty sure that she could hear her own heartbeat in her head as he tried to smile her way through dinner.

The redhead was nodding in line with something her friends were saying, although she had her own burning questions that were starting to come to the front of her mind as the night went on. Eluned had already headed to bed, it being much too late in the evening for her to still be up, and Leda was glad for the extra time in private to talk to Zennon. Being a parent wasn't something that the former Slytherin had seen for herself growing up, but when Ned had come into their lives there was no doubt in Leda's mind that taking care of her with Mervyn was what they needed to do, and it had very much become second nature. Sometimes, although maybe she wouldn't always admit it, she enjoyed having Ned around the house.

Leda popped the cork off a new bottle of red wine, topping up the glass that sat half empty in front of her guest and her husband.. husband, that was still so strange to hear, and rested her head in her hands with her elbows propped up on the table, trying to bite her tongue and wait for the right moment. A quick glance to Mervyn told him she was becoming impatient, and there wasn't much time until she was going to let something fall out of her mouth.

The plates were cleared away, the wine was open, Eluned was in bed... Mervyn couldn't delay it much longer. By the look on Leda's face, he had a couple of minutes at best. Yet, in spite of all his mental rehearsals, he had no idea where to begin. Not that it mattered much where he started. He was quite sure that he would only get three or four words out before Leda sensed his hesitation and pounced.

More wine, yes, that was good. Mervyn took a gulp, set the glass down, cleared his throat. "Right," he said. "Zennon. Leeds and I 'ave a big favour to ask of you. Well, technically speakin', about an 'undred million really small ones. Uh..."

Leda's eyes were fixed on Mervyn as she tried to will him into just spitting it out, surely he'd get to the point soon? Sure enough, Mervyn lowered his glass and began to move the topic of conversation towards the real reason as to why they'd invited Zennon over for more than just dinner. She rolled her eyes as Mervyn seemed to pause yet again, unable to get the words out. This was infuriating, how could they keep being expected to dance around a point this important?" ".. I want you to have my babies." Leda blurted out wide eyed and much more aggressively than she'd intended but she couldn't contain it for any longer.

Being invited to dinner was nice. He hadn't had an adult day for a while now, just out with some friends with som wine and food. He wasn't as rare an appearance to his friends these days as he had been before, being more available to them now that things had really settled down, but even still, he knew that he wanted to spend time with his friends more often than he had before. It meant a lot to him that he could be relied on, even if it didn't seem like that before. He'd grown as a person and that made all the difference.

He hadn't brought Fin with him of course because he was with Sam and he wanted some time to just be himself, not Dad. Not that he didn't like being a Dad of course, it was part of who he was, and it would be for the rest of his life, but it was still something that he sometimes needed some time away from. He grinned at the wine as it was poured, lifting his glass to take another sip when the couple finally made the move they clearly had been intending to make from the first moment.

He blinked, his glass halfway to his lips before he fully registered. He cleared his throat and sat his glass on the table. "I think you're going to need to start this conversation from the beginning..." he loved his friends, but... he wasn't entirely sure where they were going with this.
