Killian might not have been able to duel when he was a kid - due to his giant genes, this was the next best thing. He did wonder how dueling was in Hogwarts New Zealand versus the dueling that was over in Durmstrang. Only time would tell. He signed up again this year to help proctor the dueling matches. At least if a spell went sideways and hit him, he will likely not feel it. "Choose opposite ends of the stage. When you are ready, bow to your opponent, and begin. Whoever wins will advance." Killian took a step back and folded his arms across his chest to witness the chaos.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Teddy was looking forward to dueling Ten, the two of them got on although admittedly he hadn't seen much of her of late, and he did wonder if it had anything to do with Veronica. He took his place and bowed to her, "Good luck Ten. Stupefy!"

Ten honestly had no hope of beating Teddy since he had won the last few years in a row. How was she meant to compete with that? She gave the prefect a small bow, admittedly more excited to duel someone she knew. "Who needs luck when you have magic?" she grinned, flick her wand to defend his spell, and tossing a disarming charm back at him.

Teddy blocked the disarming spell, there was no way he was going to lose the duel this early on by getting hit by that. "I'm not sure, we all have magic, I think I'd quite like to have both. Petrificus Totalus!" Teddy was just getting warmed up with the duel.

"Both?" Ten replied, blocking his spell easily. She didn't think she'd win so she'd told herself she was just going to have fun with this instead. "Bit greedy isn't it Pirrip?" The grin on her face suggested she was joking.

Teddy was a little thrown by Ten blocking then not sending an offensive spell back. Dueling was like a waltz and this felt like a misstep. "Where's that magic you said you had?" He asked. He was being a gentleman and waiting for her before sending his next spell.

Ten knew what she was doing, as she took her time with Teddy. He was used to winning, so anything out of the ordinary would surely work in her favour. "Impatient and greedy?" She continued to tease, "You should be the poster boy for Gryffindor." Would this mean she was insinuating the same of herself? Of course, but it was worth it.

Teddy wasn't exactly sure what Ten was doing, but she definitely wasn't dueling. He was surprised to get this from her, particularly in the second round when the people messing around would have normally been weeded out. He smirked at her comment, "I already am the poster boy for Gryffindor." He wasn't exactly sure what he should do, he looked at Professor Borisyuk then back at Ten and shrugged, "If you want to miss your turn then that's fine by me, Expelliarmus!"

Ten had for the last few years, gotten on reasonably well with Teddy. Hearing him call himself the poster boy however was funny and a snort left her nostrils. "Careful you don't fall off your broom in the next match with your head that big," she said, blocking his spell. "One misplaced sway and woops, suddenly you're upside down." She lowered her wand again, seemingly to not cast another offence spell. In reality she was just trying to think of the best one to catch him off guard. "Confundo," the fifth year finally landed on, her wand now pointing at Teddy's head.

Teddy realised just in time that Ten was trying to trick him into thinking she wasn't going to cast anything again. He blocked then shook his head, "Good to see you dueling properly now." He considered his options before sending the babbling curse back at her, not that she needed it with the amount of rubbish already coming out of her mouth.

Ten scoffed, "Who said anything about doing things properly?" she asked, wondering what it was that made Teddy think he had to follow exactly what was expected from him. "What's wrong with making something a bit more fun?" she tilted her head to the side, whipping her wand in front of her to block his spell. "Does it annoy you?" she asked, refusing to cast another spell yet.

Teddy shook his head like he was disappointed because Ten wasn't playing properly again. It was annoying, but he kept calm by remembering the old counting technique. “One, two, three, fun is for after I win.” He replied. “Four, five, six. Nah I just think it’s cute you’re trying to psych me out. Seven, eight nine, ” He paused for a beat, it was plainly clear that she wasn't sending him anything, "I think I've heard enough from Ten. Silencio!" He aimed his wand at her at the very last moment before sending his spell.

Ten wasn’t really sure why Teddy has started counting to himself, however as he got to Ten she started laughing. So much so she almost forgot to block the spell coming toward her. She raised her wand just in time, not taking an extra breath to throw another stunning spell his way.

Teddy didn't think Ten was going to block in time until she did. He blocked the stunning spell, then threw out his next offensive, "Obscuro"

Back in focus, Ten easily blocked the next spell from her housemate. She wanted to throw him off though, or at least give him a duel he wasn't used to. "Amphbian Eructo," she said clearly, trying her luck.

Teddy blocked the strange spell and cocked his head, "Oh you went rogue with that one, what was it you said again, Amphibian Eructo?" he cast the spell back at her. He didn't know what it did, something to do with amphibians he guessed.

Ten grinned as Teddy seemed to not have heard the spell before, before proptly trying it out for himself. "Yeah, no thank you," she said after blocking it. She didn't feel like throwing up frogs. She then used a simple disarming charm, refusing to give up.

Teddy blocked the disarming spell then sighed, feeling the early onset of fatigue from so much spellcasting. Between Aurora and Ten, this years dueling tournament had tested Teddy more than any previous year. And to think if he wins this duel he still has one more duel to win before he could hold onto his title. He raised his wand to cast another spell, "Stupefy!"

Ten wasn’t going to let a simple stun be the reason she fell out of the duel. She blocked it quickly before sending back the petrifying charm, not giving Teddy the chance to be hit by anything “funny”. His ego was already huge, she didn’t need to make it worse by giving the crowd something to talk about.
