[Professor Kalif Styx]

Professor Styx led the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He informed them of the rules, the points, and made sure they were aware of what not to do. He instructed, "Begin."

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun! Be creative!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

June wanted to take revenge on last years duel. She was matched against Santiago again. Although dueling wasn't the most important thing to her, she hated losing. So she wanted to be the best in all there was. To her suprise Professor Styx was at their duel. June knew he was the old head of house from Slytherin. So she wanted to do well. She watched Santiago with an smirk and hold up her wand and made a bow. And than quickly was first to cast '' Petrificus Totalus!'' to Santiago. Figuring it was an very usefull spell.

Santiago wasn't very optimistic about his chances as he stepped up to the dueling platform. He was pretty sure he had won by sheer luck last time he faced June, not that he would ever admit that too her. But now she had something to prove which did scare him a bit. Not that he had any intention of backing down. Maybe luck would be on his side again? He gave her a quick bow and was ready with a shield charm knowing she'd probably be the first to act and quickly fired of his own spell moment later. "Incendio!"

Her spell got blocked by an shielding charm. And as Santiago send some flames in her way June was quick and blocked the flames getting to her with an shielding charm. Santiago's heart was already racing as he quickly raised his wand to cast another shield charm. He had to be quick if he wanted to stand a chance. As much as he wanted to throw some trash talk around he had to be focused. In one swift movement he cast his next spell. "Diffindo!"

Figuring to build up the speed she castedan quick “Silencio!” It was an difficult spell but June was capable enough to perform it. Figuring it would be hard for Santiago to use spells if he got hit.

June kept her concentration and tried to see if Santiago was getting frustrated or out of concentration. But he kept on going like she was. June watched him very closely and put up her shield to block his spell once more. Making sure it looked easy smirking shortly in his way confidently. June than quickly pointed her wand at Santiago and casted her next spell '' Everte Statum'' towards Santiago. Hoping it would knock him over.
