Gabrielle was probably mad to volunteer herself to supervise duels again, but on the other hand, she hadn't volunteered to actually duel her fellow staff members so she was probably not as mad as she could have been. She had her wand in hand just in case, and invited the the two third years to take their positions. She was rather curious to see how these two would do, as she didn't get to see their spellcasting in class. She suspected they might be full of surprises. "Hello and welcome to your first duel of this year's tournament. Now, I want to see a nice, clean duel today. When I give the signal, you may bow to each other and begin. Ready?" Gabrielle looked between the two, making sure they were both ready, before nodding. "Go for it."

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Veronica was excited to duel, she hadn't signed up for the tournament before and wanted to give it a try. She didn't know her opponent very well but they shared classes together so she smiled at him before she raised her wand and bowed. She took her place at the end of the platform, raised her wand and cast a Slug Vomiting Curse.

Enoch wasn't sure he knew the girl he was facing off with, but he knew that wasn't the best metric. He didn't know a lot of people, and he also wasn't there to get to know anyone. He followed the steps, and then blocked the spell, almost a moment too late. Throwing back a "Furnunculus,"

She almost didn't get her shield charm up in time to block Enoch's spell causing Veronica to grit her teeth in frustration. She would not lose this duel of her own doing that was for damn sure. "Stupefy," She fired the stunning spell back at him.

Veronica wasn't sure what kind of lunatic would cast a fire spell during a duel, but apparently Enoch was just that type of lunatic. She tried to get out of the way of the spell but she wasn't fast enough the flames scorched the end of her robe, she quickly pulled it off and threw it off the platform. "Really?" She asked her opponent as she raised her wand and cast a trip jinx back at him.

Enoch was pretty pleased the spell landed. It was a surprise to him that she would have such a reaction, and he spent moment almost just pondering the reaction, before remembering what he was meant to be doing and managing to dodge out the way of her spell. "Stupefy," he sent back
