[Professor Kalif Styx]

Professor Styx led the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. This was going to be interesting, far more than student dueling. If he had participated, then body bags would likely be needed. He instructed, "Begin."

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun! Be creative!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Noel had never participated himself in duellling at his time at Hogwarts, too busy with others stuff like Quidditch and classes. But he thought it was good to sign up, since teaching defence against the dark arts ment also teaching children defensive and offensive magic to duelling. And he liked an challenge. Although being matched to his old head of house, was something he thought of as nice but he didn't want to hurt her too. But he was smart enough to know how good and powerfull of an witch Cyndi Kingsley was. So it wouldn't be easy. He made an bow and gave the woman an quick smile and hold up his wand. And quickly casted an '' Levicorpus'' to Cyndi her way.

The situation could not be any more strange to the professor. She had signed up for the dueling tournament on a whim, one of those 'this is the last chance you'll get' thoughts that lead people to make sometimes terrible, sometimes brilliant decisions. But now here she bowed to her former student standing across from her with her former professor there to proctor.

"Protego" the professor intoned, protecting herself from the spell Noel had just attempted. The professor took only a moment to send a spell his way. "Langlock" she uttered, knowing he could still perform non-verbal magic even if it hit but figuring it would make it more challenging for him.

As his spell was obviously shielded by Cyndi he got ready to protect himself from the spell she was throwing his way. And performed an shielding charm in time. Noel than thought of the next attempt and than send another spell in her way. He than spoke: “Obscuro” and figured it would be hard for the woman to not see. She could still hear and perhaps had good hearing, but it was not easy at all if he would be succesfull in his attempt.

The professor's vision went dark and she let out a curse, annoyed she'd been hit by the spell. She knew she'd eventually need to end it, but quickly sent a stinging hex in the direction she'd last seen Noel standing.

As Noel managed to be succesfull in his spell and hit Cyndi he was kind of suprised, so suprised that he was just in time to dodge the spell coming his way, almost hitting him. He tried to find his balance again and casted an disarming spell in the direction of his previous head of house. There were more spells, a lot of powerfull ones beside this one too. But he just didn't felt it was right to send them in Cyndi her way. If it was Eric standing in front of him it would be different.
