Angel considered the crowd as the next two competitors got ready, eager to get another round underway. It'd been a long day and they were getting so close to the last of the finals. "Alright kids, you should know what you're doing by now so let's keep it clean. The victor will move onto the second year finals and our loser will sadly be eliminated. When you're ready, please bow to your opponent and begin!" He said with a final flourish, letting the students get started.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Caleb couldn't stop grinning when he saw who he'd be up against next, and nearly bolted onto the platform to meet Louis. He couldn't wait to humble the other boy just a bit, as he smirked and bowed dramatically. "Tarantallegra!" he cast, happy to be the one to fire off a spell first.

Louis had been pretty lucky to sit out a round, but now he had to face off against Caleb. He had to win this. He grinned at his friend, then bowed as well before blocking his spell. He was a bit frustrated, as he had wanted to cast a spell first. Thankfully, he managed to block. Then he cast a spell of his own. "Rictusempra!"

René had been pretty bummed to get knocked out of the duelling tournament so early. His only consolation was that at least people would quickly forget how embarrassing his loss had been. Caleb and Louis didn't seem to be having the same struggle, both of them making it up to the semi-final. He wondered if he should ask either of them for tips, watching closely as the two began trading spells. It was probably kind of mean, but secretly René was cheering for Caleb. Louis just always seemed so confident it would be nice to see someone one up him for once.

Caleb grinned as Louis seemed to get annoyed, and hoped he might take advantage of that soon. He cast a shield charm just in time and cast his next spell. "Locomotor Mortis!"

Caleb had expected his last spell to hit so he was a bit unprepared when Louis blocked it. His hesitation forced him to doge out of the way when his timing was off. But he did manage to send a slug vomiting curse back.
