Juniper heard something whiz past her head and realized it was a bludger. She started chasing after it and took a swing, realizing she needed to aim it and missing her mark. She watched as it flew and instead hit @Lily Harbour. Clicking her tongue, she shrugged. A hit was a hit.
Juniper watched the quaffle for a little bit and then thought she would go after another bludger. As she took the swing to aim it at one of the keepers, she missed and watched it continue off into the distance without her.
With all the bludgers flying around, it was hard to focus on the chasers, especially when Sawyer couldn't shake the feeling like Juniper was going to try and hit him soon like she had half the team.
Juniper caught up with the bludger and just barely knicked it with her bat, still able to guide it towards one of the chasers as it made contact. @Sawyer Carnahan
Sawyer hated when he was right about these things. He saw the bludger coming, but his knee jerk instinct was to hold up his hands like he would with the quaffle and he mostly just succeeded in feeling like he'd just ground his elbows together. Hissing and shaking out his arms, Sawyer was just glad he hadn't fallen off his broom.
Hattie kept a close eye on Juniper as she kept hitting bludgers in every direction. She was doing really well, and this gave Hattie a little bit of hope for their next game. As the quaffle was thrown back out, Hattie was quick to intercept it and grabbed it tightly underneath her arm.
Hattie tried her best to focus, despite feeling as though she was going to be hit by a bludger any second. She tried at Lars again this time, throwing the quaffle directly for the middle hoop. He managed to catch it easily though, and she sighed, hoping she'd be able to get some help from her fellow chasers for the next shot.
Sawyer was still aching from the bludger hit, so he was rather relieved when Hattie stayed down the other end of the pitch and took another shot at the hoops Lars was guarding.
Juniper watched as Hattie scored and thought that would hopefully give the team a little moral boost. She noticed a bludger nearby as she hovered on her broom and went after it towards the other keeper, giving it a hard hit as it made contact with @Lars van Houten.
Juniper felt bad for hitting one of her captains, even though it was good practice, and went for a different target this time. She caught up with the other bludger and hit it towards @Hattie Thorne, surprised that she made contact again.
Sawyer let out another hiss in sympathy when Juniper managed to hit both Lars and Hattie. He was once again grateful the quaffle was staying down the other end of the pitch for now if it meant he wasn't going to be the target of any more bludgers for awhile.
Chloe arrived to the pitch for practice and she was in the air in no time as soon as Lars gave them the signal. She searched for a bludger, wincing as she noticed half the team had been hit already. At least Juniper was doing a fine job.
Juniper kept her eye on Chloe, hoping she would also get a few hits in this practice. She heard a whizzing by her ear and saw a bludger taunting her. She went after it, smashing it towards their other captain. @Minnie Calida
Juniper managed to knock another bludger, this time into their other captain. Sawyer at least was feeling a bit more stable after recovering from his own hit and turned his attention back to the chasers.
Juniper had realized she had hit everyone on the team except her fellow beater. Since they were equal targets, she thought it might be funny to aim for teammate but was thoroughly suprised when it hit her. "Sorry," she called across the field. @Chloe Chan
Chloe wasn't sure whether to be very pleased that Juniper was hitting everyone, or whether to be concerned for her teammates. Her decision was made when she got hit in the shoulder, and by then the prefect was pretty sure everyone had been hit at least once. She sent a thumbs up to the other girl as she worked through the pain, tying to ignore it.
Juniper still felt a little bad for actually hitting everyone on her team, but that was the point of being a beater, right? That was their defense. She took a moment to just hang out as she let her teammates live without fear of bludgers.
Sawyer was glad this practice was at least reminding everyone to keep on their toes when it came to bludgers, which after Minnie and nearly Lily got knocked out of the game last time, may have been a good thing.
