With the first round out of the way, it was time to move on. After giving the students ample time to recover from their previous duels, Katherine lead the next batch of competitors to the stage, and took her position overlooking them. "Welcome, to the second round of duelling. Take your positions, and prepare yourselves." She announced, raising her hands and allowing them a moment to change their stances and ready their wands. "Now, bow and commence." She continued, dropping her hands to signal for them to begin.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

@Sydney Townsend vs @Aisa Hunter

Current Points: 150

Aisa had won against Sully, which made her happy. At least she could tease him with that. But her next opponent would be more difficult. Sydney may be obnoxious, but she was the leader of the club for a reason. Aisa raised her wand after bowing and started with the first spell. "Stupefy."

Having to sit out the first round of duels had made Sydney antsy, and she was more than keen to get going once her first duel finally started. She'd wasted too much time side-eying Professor Alicastell before the match after bowing though, and mentally cursed herself for not managing to get the first shot in. She blocked Aisa stunning spell casually before returning fire with a stinging hex.

Aisa wondered if Sydney was trying to catch her off guard with a stinging hex, or was simply attempting to toy with her. She blocked it and cast a spell at the Slytherin, the first one that came to her mind. "Impedimentia"

Sydney was glad when Aisa sent back a more interesting spell this time. It would have been disappointing if her first duel this year was nothing but trading stunning spells. Grinning, she blocked Aisa spell before returning fire with a conjunctivitis curse.

Aisa blocked Sydney's next spell, glad that she still had her vision intact. She sent another spell back at the Slytherin, picking a jelly fingers curse in the hopes it would make her drop her wand.

Sydney felt her grin widening as the duel continued. She'd been looking forward to getting into a real duel since her win against Tyler had been stolen at her in the last minute, and it felt good to be back in her element. Pulling up a shield to block Aisa's jinx, Sydney decided to try something different with her next spell. "Muffliato!" With any luck, it would throw Aisa off, especially if it hit and she couldn't hear which spells Sydney was casting.

Aisa reacted too late, and to her frustration, Sydney's spell hit. There was a buzzing in her ears that was very annoying, and worst of all, a definite hindrance for the rest of the duel. Aisa silently cursed herself, but then cast her next spell. "Silencio." If She couldn't hear Sydney, she may as well stay quiet.

Her spell managed to hit and Sydney hoped that was a sign she was about to win. Aisa not being to hear her spells clearly was a huge advantage and Sydney intended to press it. She blocked Aisa's silencing charm, aware what a bad spot that would put her in since she still hadn't mastered any non-verbal spells, before sending back her own spell. "Petrificus Totalus." Sydney made a point to speak as softly as she could without weakening her spell, going so far as to even cover her mouth so Aisa would be going into it metaphorically blind.

The buzzing noise was very frustrating, but Aisa tried her best not to focus on it. She tried to make out what Sydney had cast, but she hid it very well. It distracted Aisa enough not to have a shield up in time. She ducked out of the way instead. "Stupefy!" She then cast.

Sydney hoped she had Aisa on the back foot as she watched the other girl resort to having to dodge her spell. Aisa had also resorted back to basic stunning spells, which Sydney had to hope was a good sign. Feeling a detirmined calm wash over her, Sydney blocked Aisa's spell, quickly send back a trip jinx. If she could knock Aisa down while she could hear very well, it'd ben nearly impossible for her next spell not to take her out.

Not being able to rely on her hearing was throwing Aisa more off her game than she had expected. She tried to dodge Sydney's next spell, but got instead. Being tripped threw her off balance, and before she knew it, Aisa had fallen onto the ground, her wand rolling out of her hand.

Sydney had been ready, wand raised, to sling another spell at Aisa as she hit the ground, only managing to stop when she saw Aisa's wand rolling across the stage. Content with a good duel, she relaxed out of her duelling stance, smiling smugly and nodding her head in Aisa's direction.
