Y35 | Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

As he flew around continuing his search for the snitch Aidan couldn't help but chuckle at all of the yelling going on around him, so much for being a team! He wasn't annoyed however, just amused. He only hoped that the team would be able to bring this kind of energy to a game when they were all competing on the same side against another school.

Mualla groaned loudly when she heard her co-captains going at it again. Could they not do this right now? Looking in the skies for Grace, she flew over towards the other beater. "Can't we hit some sense into them?" she asked, pointing her bat to their captains.
(@Grace Martinez)

When the captains started bickering again, Grace rolled her eyes. How good of an example were they setting for the rest of the team? When Mualla flew up beside her Grace smiled at her and she nodded as soon as the other girl suggested if they can get some sense into them. "Let’s do it," she agreed, thank god someone else was thinking on a similar wavelength. Seeing a bludger coming right at her, Grace hit it hard and watched as it went off course. She turned to Mualla and shrugged. Maybe next time.
@Mualla Avar

Penelope zoomed up higher than the majority of her team mates and looked down from above. She made her way down the length of the pitch, but still the golden snitch remained hidden.

Grace was determined to hit as many bludgers as she could, it would be great if she practiced a lot and worked hard and then they’d be able to compete against Hogwarts again. She sped up a little and when she encountered a bludger she hit it with all of her strength, aiming for @Simone Moreau-Chen but she watched as it decided to go off course and hit @Orélie Manuel. She flew beside Mualla once more. "Well that went well."
@Mualla Avar

She shrugged when Grace came flying next to her once more and said, "It's something. Let's hope that it is enough." and flew away from the other beater to chase after a bludger.

Fierce on Nadine's tail, Orélie pulled up near her, ready to try and grab the quaffle back. Orélie was certainly inspired to be more aggressive this practice. She had her arm outreached ready to try and snag the quaffle when a bludger collided with her shoulder and Orélie let out a string of curses, mixed in French and English and veered away, nursing her shoulder. She shot a glare over at the beaters, her body aching. She had no proof but she was sure they were targeting her on purpose. Probably Grace, since she'd been on the team longer with Nadine and was taking her side. "Maybe aim for someone else for a bit?" She called out bitterly to the beaters. Holding her arm close to her chest, Orélie took a few deeps breathes in through her nose and circled the pitch, taking a moment to collect herself.

Nadine pretended not to hear Orélie's comment, flying on to the hoops with the quaffle on her own. She noticed when Orélie got hit by a bludger again, and winced in sympathy. She may be angry with her friend, but this was excessive. "Hey, we don't want anyone actually injured!" She snapped at @Grace Martinez . She glanced at Orélie, but decided to go on with scoring instead of making sure she was okay. Orélie was tough. She flew to the hoops and threw the quaffle, letting out a cheer as she managed to score.

Simone watched the quaffle as Nadine scored. She wanted to congratulate her friend but she was still annoyed about all the bickering. But seeing Orelie get hit by the bludger again, she winced. "You ok?" she shouted as she flew by, while also annoyed but still hated to see her friend get hurt.

Orélie scoffed when Nadine chewed out the beaters. Of course she would think she couldn't take a few hits. That being said, Orélie didn't think she could take another one, arm still aching even when she flew up and caught the quaffle from Bijoux. "I'd take a few more bludgers over miss high and mighty over there," She said hotly to Simone, nodding at Nadine. Shaking out her hair, Orélie swapped the quaffle over to her other side so it hurt less to pass it awkwardly to @Simone Moreau-Chen

She was flying back around towards her fellow beater when she heard Orélie and Nadine. ''You two done bickering around then?'' she called out hotly, thinking that it was somewhat unfair of both of them to call Grace and her out for it. It wouldn't be too wise for her to talk back to the captains since she was relatively new to the team, but they were dragging the spirit down.

Simone caught the pass and tucked the quaffle under her arm before heading to the goals. She bit her tongue, not wanting to stoop to their level and snap at her. Instead she just rolled her eyes at Orelie's comment. Apparently she wasn't done being childish and petty. Maybe they could both use a couple more bludger hits. Distracted, she made the shot and it was easily blocked by Bijoux. She cursed, but couldn't tell who she was more upset with herself or her friends.

Penelope hovered above the rest of the team, deciding to stay in one spot for a while and watch for movements. Realising the team was still arguing a little she sighed, she hoped things weren't always like this.

Aidan decided not to copy Penelope's example, and kept flying around hoping it would increase his chances of finding the snitch, He wasn't especially trying to be competitive, but the longer practice went for the more determined Aidan had grown. It probably would be rather impressive to the rest of the team if he did manage to catch the snitch before their actual seeker did. Competing against Penelope wasn't what increased the boys determination- he just wanted to catch the snitch in better form than he had during try-outs, and there was only one snitch to be caught, after all.

Orelie had been ready to defend the beaters, if only to spite Nadine for thinking she couldn't take a few hits, but when Mualla accused them of bickering, she couldn't stifle her glare at the younger girl. Couldn't anyone else see Nadine was the one being a brat. Orelie couldn't even defend herself without the whole team turning on her. Angrily, she snatched up the quaffle and shot away from Nadine, needing some distance from the other captain. "Everyone just mind their own business and do their jobs and we'll be fine." She said shortly.

Grace’s jaw dropped when she was yelled at. Were they serious?! She was just doing her job! She was a beater, for Merlin’s sake! How deep did the conflict between her captains go? "Hey, beaters aim bludgers at players, it’s what we do!" she shot back, really getting annoyed at the both of them now. "And besides, it was an accident." The bludger had decided to go off course. You couldn’t plan these things. Grace wasn’t going to apologise to either of them, they were making this practice more difficult that it should be.
@Nadine De Rosier @Orélie Manuel

Nodding her head vigorously at what Grace was saying, Mualla already had her eyes locked on one of the iron balls. She watched the bludger come towards her and when it was close enough that Mualla thought she might have a go at it, stretched her arm out and hit the bat against the bludger again. Satisfied, she followed it as it went straight for @Aidan Bain. ''Happy now?'' she called out to the captains, clearly annoyed at them.

Now it seemed like Nadine had managed to piss off both the beaters too, which was the last thing they needed. Mualla managed to prove herself to be a formidable force by swinging a bludger directly into Aiden and Orélie winced, her own hits still throbbing painfully. She wondered if they should call practice soon before Nadine's bad energy infected the whole team, but first, she wanted to make another shot. Unfortunately, her arm still aching from the earlier hit, her shot barely made it to Bijoux, let alone through the hoop and Orélie snarled under her breath.

Nadine was incensed at Mualla's comment, but Orélie got to it first by mentioning they should mind their own business. Nadine scowled at Grace as she talked back. "I know it is, but when it's someone who has been hit already you have to be careful!" She snapped back, concerned about Orélie even if she wouldn't admit it. She ignored Mualla, who really was getting a little too disrespectful. Nadine shot after Orélie, hoping to grab the quaffle off her again before the practice was over.

Grace rolled her eyes but didn't bother saying anything back to Nadine, she wasn't stooping to that level. She continued to chase after a bludger and when she neared it she hit it hard, but watched as it did not go in the direction she wanted it to.

Penelope cringed as another bludger was sent over towards Aidan. It was then that she spotted the snitch hovering over the goal posts, and she took off after it. Dodging other players in the busiest area of the pitch however was something Penelope was going to need to practice however, as she had to take her eyes off the snitch for a little too long to duck between two chasers, and she couldn't find it again once she looked back up.

Aidan was flying straight down the pitch when a bludger came from behind and hit him hard in the lower back. He cursed and groaned, pulling a face to try and power through the pain, though it was much more intense than the hit to the knee. He wasn't completely thrown off though, and he flew off to keep looking for the snitch, giving the team a thumbs up to let them know he could take it.

She felt a little bad when the bludger hit Aidan in the lower back but knew that she was only doing her job. She gave him a thumbs up back, glad that he was fine, and started to chase another bludger.

Grace winced when Aidan got hit by a bludger, and she shadowed him another time, looking out for bludgers. This was getting really tiring really quickly, having luck in hitting bludgers but then not being appreciated for it or not finding any.

Rule 2A

The tension on the pitch was palpable and Orélie couldn't wait for practice to be over. They didn't have much longer left on the pitch and Orélie hastily grabbed the quaffle again once Bijoux passed it back, not waiting on Nadine or Simone to make a move. The sooner they were done with all this so Orélie could go cool off, the better. If she saw Nadine's face any time again today it would be too soon.

OOCOut of Character:
Practice will be closing tomorrow, folks!
