Y35 | Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

After her last failed attempt at keeping any bludgers away from her seeker, Grace was even more determined to stay at his side while keeping a lookout for anything coming their way. She kept shadowing the younger boy, ready to hit anything (or possibly even anyone) who was in their way.

As she was following her seeker, Mualla wondered how Grace was doing. She was a lot younger than the other Beater which was kind of intimidating. She hoped that she'd be able to impress her with her play today.

Orélie was frustrated that Simone apparently had no interest in passing the quaffle, but at least she managed to score. Poor Bibi was probably still smarting from the bludger hit earlier, but while Orélie hovered nearby, Nadine came in and scooped up the quaffle, taking off with it. Typical, she was still such a brat. "It's a team sport!" She called out pointedly to Simone and Nadine, taking after Nadine. Orélie pulled up beside her, knocking shoulders as she wrested the quaffle from her before taking off back towards the hoops. Might as well get in some more offensive practice while they were at it. @Nadine De Rosier

Rule 2a :r

Nadine grinned as she flew away from Orélie. "Doesn't mean YOU always get to play!" She called to her as she flew away. She held the quaffle close, but realized that she should probably look at what the rest of the team was doing. She looked over, just in time to see Orélie approach her and knock into her. Nadine yelped as her co-captain tore the quaffle out of her grasp, then yelled in anger and frustration before pursuing her. She was SO annoyed.

Penelope tried taking another lap of the pitch, but the snitch didn't show itself this time around.

Mualla was getting annoyed by the way the co-captains were behaving. It distracted her from doing what she was supposed to do. Noticing a bludger flying a couple of meters in front of her, Mualla instantly knew what to do. Speeding towards the ball, she hit her bat against the bludger once she was close enough to do so and send it off towards Orélie. Perhaps they all needed a reminder that this was a Quidditch practice and not a Sunday afternoon.

Aidan was trying to keep an eye out for bludgers, not wanting to get hit again. Thinking he could see the snitch, he zoomed over the width of the pitch, but couldn't find what had caused the glistening. He turned to do another lap in the opposite direction from which way Penelope was going.

The bickering was getting really annoying and frankly, the co-caps were acting really immature. Grace sighed, speeding up as she saw a bludger and she hit the ball, annoyed that it didn’t go in the direction she wanted it to go.

Orélie shot towards the hoops, trying not to give Nadine any chances to catch up and steal. She was about to take a shot at the goal when she felt the bludger slam into her shoulder, knocking her shot wide as she grimaced and spun her broom, just barely managing to keep her balance. She wanted to rage at Mualla for the hit, her shoulder throbbing from the impact, but it was a good, clean hit, so Orélie kept her mouth shut, hoping the pain might clear her head for a second.

OOCOut of Character:
Beaters, please make sure you're @-ing players if you hit them with a bludger so nothing gets missed! Practice sessions don't inform hit players/let you pick a target so it helps us keep track 👍

The longer Pip was flying around for, the more determined she became to prove she was the right decision for seeker. There was no way she was going to let Aidan the Alt show her up and get to the snitch first. She kept her eyes peeled, and continued her laps around the pitch.

When Grace spotted another bludger she swung her arm and hit it with as much force as she could, aiming for the other beater but it went off course and hit @Nadine De Rosier instead. She winced and mouthed a quick ‘sorry’, knowing what being hit felt like it must not have been pleasant.

Mualla felt good after sending a bludger to Oriélie. She knew it would hurt, and did not wish such pain on anyone, but she was managing to get a couple of hits in before practice would end. It gave her a certain confidence, something she knew she must have if they were to play against a foreign team again.

Nadine was furious, and didn't even mind too much that Orélie was hit by a bludger. Sure, a part of her was sad for her friend, but she was mostly angry with her right now. Maybe this would teach her not not to be so bossy all the time. She grinned when she saw Orélie managed to fail her shot, but as she flew up to grab the quaffle next, a bludger hit her instead. Nadine yelped in pain, her broom veering to the right sharply at the hit.

Simone winced as both Nadine and Orelie took some pretty nasty bludger hits. She thanked whatever cosmic force was saving her from suffering the same fate. But she took the opportunity to catch the quaffle where Nadine dropped it and started to make the half lap. As she came back toward the goals she kept her eyes out for her fellow chasers to pass to. Hoping that the bludgers might have knocked some sense into them. Simone spotted Orelie who seemed to have recovered, and passed it to her.

Orélie decided to keep her mouth shut when she saw Nadine take a bludger too, still sore from her own hit. Maybe at least the hit would knock some sense into the other girl she thought viciously, kicking herself back into gear and flying over to support Simone. She was pleased when Simone passed to her, hoping they could get their fractured team dynamic back in order despite Nadine's mood today, taking the quaffle and slugging at the hoops. The shot was a bit weak, and Bibi was no slouch on goal and was easily able to block. "Aw, good save, Bibi," She said with false brightness. At the very least Bijoux was acting somewhat semi-normal today and she wanted to keep it that way.

Deciding that it was time to shadow Penelope once more, Mualla followed the seeker around as she searched for the snitch. The beaters were finally doing something so it must only be a matter of time before her assigned seeker would be a target.

Grace was relieved that neither of the captains seemed to say anything to each other after they had both been hit, and she briefly noticed Mualla who was now shadowing the younger seeker. She sent the other beater a thumbs up, their work was great today, despite the negative energy in the air, but she was proud of their efforts.

Aidan continued flying around while keeping an eye out for the snitch. Bludgers were still in the back of his mind though, his knee still sore from the hit earlier and a few team mates had already taken hits too. Aidan decided to take off a little higher and get a better vantage point to continue his search for the snitch.

Still close to the hoops, Orélie took the quaffle when Bijoux threw it back in, making a loop back near the center of the pitch as she tried to decide who to pass to. She really wasn't in the mood to pass to Nadine, but she if kept passing to Simone, then Nadine would surely think she was purposely excluding her and have something else to say about it. Nadine always acted like she was the better player just because she'd been on the team longer. Orélie shook her head. Maybe she'd just hold onto it for now.

Grace was hunting for bludgers, a little confused about the game now but she shook her head, deciding it was best not to dwell on it too much. The girl ducked instinctively when she saw a bludger, annoyed that she hadn’t seen it. She kept an eye on Aidan as she kept looking for more bludgers to hit.

Orélie took a moment to take stock of the rest of the team as she made her way back to the hoops. Beyond Simone and Nadine being petty today, the rest of the team was working well, and she was pleased. She could deal with her friends on her own off the pitch. Swooping towards the right-hand goal, Orélie whined when Bijoux blocked her again. "Come on Bibi, take it easy on me just this once." She said, smiling at her.

Penelope hadn't imagined that flying around a busy quidditch pitch would actually be this much of a challenge, but she was enjoying it. Still determined not to be upstaged however, she kept her eyes peeled. She slowed down a little to conserve energy.

Mualla was her chance when one of the bludgers came straight towards her. She hit the iron ball as hard as she could, hoping that she'd hit someone again. She groaned as she watched it go off course, however, and continued the hunt for bludgers once again.

Nadine grinned as Orélie failed to score again, and grabbed the Quaffle. "Or you could just learn how to score." She said to Orélie before flying off with it. She looked out for Simone to possibly pass the quaffle to, though she would prefer to try scoring on her own.

Nadine got the quaffle and of course had to open her big mouth. "Maybe I could ask Simone for some advice then," Orélie snapped, furious that Nadine just couldn't keep quiet for 10 minutes. They all knew she'd been playing longer, she always took any opportunity to talk about Quidditch, even when they were on the team too. Curling her lip, Orélie took off after Nadine. She wasn't sure what she was planning to do, but she needed to react somehow to knock that smug look off her face.
