Beauxbatons,Practice Tryouts had been good, though Nadine was a little nervous with just one alternate for the whole team. But they were just going to crush their opposition, and wouldn't need any alternates for that! She was also a little nervous about having a new seeker, but she knew that with enough practice, things would work out just fine. She was happy to start today's practice, grinning at the team as they arrived and waited for her to begin. She had her hair pulled back in a ponytail, which swung as she turned her head to make sure everyone was here. "Hi, and welcome to the first practice of the year!" She told the team cheerfully. "I'm Nadine, and this is Orélie. Together we will be your captains for this year." She said, gesturing to her friend. "For this practice, I want everyone to try their best and show us what you've got. We want to see what things are already going well, and what things we can work on more in the future." She told them. "So we will be observing and helping you out as well." She gestured to Orélie again. She then glanced around at the team once more. "Chasers, please fly at least half a lap with the quaffle before attempting to score. Practice passing too! Beaters, you'll both be tasked with protecting one of the seekers specifically. Mualla will shadow Penelope, Grace will shadow Aidan. But try to protect the rest of us as well." She told them firmly, then clapped her hands together with a grin. "If there are no more questions, I suggest we get started!" She said brightly.

Orélie had been wondering if Nadine was acting tense this year. She knew quidditch was important to her, but Nadine had still seemed kind of off during try-outs, and distant while they had planned the team line up and practices. Today though she was back to her usual bubbly self, so Orélie figured she must have just been imagining it. Nadine did breeze through their introductions, and Orélie found herself a bit at loss for what to say, which she wasn't a fan of. "We're a small team but a good one, we want to see you guys working together," She finally said confidently, hoping her and Nadine were at least appearing like a united front. "Let's see what you've got." Orélie said, scooping up the quaffle as Nadine released the rest of the balls, pointedly passing it off to @Simone Moreau-Chen to get the practice going.

Part of Bijoux wasn't sure why she had signed up for Quidditch again, though it was a question easily answered. Quidditch was... actually fun. She had only really signed up with the goal of finding her sister in mind, but now that that was out the window, Bijoux found she was actually looking forward to returning to practice. She could sense a bit of tension between Nadine and Orélie over the captaincy, but she tried to ignore it, and focus on having fun with her friends. Still as Bijoux kicked off and flew over to her assigned goal, part of her heart still ached for the sister she was missing.

Her parents did not understand the change of position but to Mualla it seemed right. She headed down to the Quidditch pitch, excited for their first practice session as a team. It would awesome even if things wouldn't go well today. She nodded when Nadine told her to shadow Penelope. So she was to protect her seeker, attack the other one and also protect the rest of the team? It was definitely a bit confusing but Mualla would do her best. If she was doing things wrong she'd probably hear about it from one of the captains. Mounting her broomstick and tightening her grip on the beater's bat, she kicked herself off from the ground and waited for her assigned seeker to do the same.

Grace was excited for Quidditch this year. It was going to be great, she could feel it in her bones. They didn’t seem to have many members on the team this year but she was confident that they would do really well nonetheless. She headed to the pitch with her broom in hand and nodded towards the captains in greeting upon her arrival. She listened to them and nodded once more to show that she had understood. At the signal, Grace mounted her broom and kicked off the ground, soon up in the air searching for bludgers she could hit while at the same time staying close to Aidan.

Simone barely caught the quaffle when Orelie tossed it to her before she was ready as she kicked off. She was excited for practices to start because hopefully they would get the chance at a rematch and properly crush them this time. She took the half lap around the pitch before tossing it back to Orelie with a little more force the necessary before flying ahead. Orelie and Nadine were acting weird about the whole co-captain thing but she didn’t know what to do about it. They were both too proud and stubborn to admit it though. She just hoped they would work it out before either of them got too worked up and ended up hurting each others feelings.

Orélie caught Simone's pass with a grunt, raising her eyebrow at her before just shaking her head and carrying on towards the hoops. She acted as if she was lined up to score before passing onto to @Nadine De Rosier, banking fast and clearing the score zone so Nadine could take the shot. "Hope you're on your toes, Bibi!" She called to Bijoux.

Nadine was a little grumpy when Orélie passed to Simone instead of her. Where was her co captain solidarity? She followed the two of them, watching as Simone passed back to Orélie. Then the quaffle was passed to her right as they entered the scoring zone. Nadine flew up to the hoops and tried to score, she scowled as Bijoux managed to block it. Nadine whirled on Orélie in mid air. "You shouldn't have warned her! You wouldn't do that in a match!"

Pip arrived at practice, ready to fly and hopefully start to get to know her team mates a little bit. She felt odd being the youngest one, but quite proud that she had been given position of seeker over the older boy who had tried out after her. When practice began and the snitch was released into the air, Pip followed it for as long as she could keep it in her sights, trying to grab it when she thought she was close enough, but flipping right under her broom again and missing, losing sight of the snitch entirely. She regained her balance, this was the second time she had flipped, she needed to learn to have better control if she wanted to impress the team. She began to search for the snitch again, hoping it hadn't gotten too far away already.

With Penelope airborne, the girl could finally begin to shadow her. Penelope was too fast for Mualla's broom to keep up with her but she tried to follow her nonetheless. Eyes widening, she pushed forward when she saw a bludger going straight for the seeker. Not on her watch. Coming to an abrupt halt mid-air to shield the younger seeker from getting hit by the bludger, she was glad that Penelope had lost her balance otherwise she would've never caught up to her, Mualla stretched out her arm and smashed her bat against the iron ball with all she got. She watched as it soared towards the older seeker, hoping that Grace would be able to stop it just like she had done.

Circling the hoops, Orélie gave Bijoux a little cheer as she blocked the shot. She'd seemed a bit down regarding Quidditch after what happened at the end of last year, and Orélie hoped a good practice might lift her spirits. She frowned at Nadine though, not having the patience for her being bratty today. "I think it's a good thing our keeper is doing a good job, don't you Captain," She hissed at Nadine, flying over to her.

Nadine narrowed her eyes at Orélie as she headed over to her, the sarcastic tone of her use of 'captain' not missed. "It's a good thing, but not if she's doing a good job because of your help." She snapped back. "You're not going to be able to hover next to her and warn her when a chaser is about to score in a real game, Co-captain." She snapped back.

Aidan hadn't been able to sleep the previous night, excited for his first quidditch practice. Even just as an alternative, Aidan was glad he had managed to achieve the goal he had set for himself. Being on a quidditch team was exactly what Aidan needed to break up the monotony of classes and studying and always indoors. He arrived in time and listened to the instructions for the practice.

As soon as things kicked off, he noticed Penelope was in immediate pursuit of the snitch. Instead of chasing directly after her, Aidan attempted to cut across from a different angle. He wasn't quite fast enough though, but to his surprise Penelope rolled under her broom, and he was able to keep track of the snitch as it escaped from Penelope. The boy was not keeping a good enough eye on what was going on around him however, and was caught by surprise when a bludger suddenly hit his knee and knocking him off course, causing him to lose sight of the snitch.

Grace was not a fan of the bickering that was going on between the two younger girls, and she sincerely hoped that they would stop soon because it certainly wasn’t a good example to the new members of the team. She noticed a bludger heading Aidan’s way and she cursed when it hit the seeker. She gripped the bat tightly and chased after the same bludger and finally hit it with a whack, away from the seeker she was supposed to protect. She watched as it headed straight for @Bijoux Laurent instead. "You okay?" she shouted over to Aidan, scolding herself for not having gotten to him sooner.

She hadn't failed to notice that the captains started to bicker back and forth and frowned a little. So much for giving the younger players a good example, she thought. She felt a little guilty that Grace hadn't been able to stop the bludger from hitting Aidan just in time but didn't apologise for it, as she was only doing her job.

Penelope watched from a distance as Aidan took a bludger to the knee, not liking the way that looked at all, she decided to pick up a bit of height and try to get a good view of everything that was going on. She couldn't see the snitch, and she was trying to ignore the remarks she was overhearing between some of her team mates. She knew a real game would mean cheering crowds making much more noise but actual bickering on the field among team members was something else, and she didn't want to lose focus.

Up higher she was able to catch a glimpse of the snitch sparkling in the distance, and she zoomed across the pitch yet again. The snitch was only inches away from her grasp when it suddenly shot upwards, Penelope flying forwards too quickly to pull herself upwards in time. She flew clear under the snitch as it took off up into the air.

Orélie groaned, baring containing her annoyance at Nadine today. She always forget what a baby the other girl could be sometimes. "Don't blame me because you missed the shot, I don't have time to babysit you too today," She said, rolling her eyes, managing to catch the quaffle as Bibi threw it back in, right before she took a bludger. Orélie winced in sympathy, not missing one of their seekers taking a bludger nearby either. "At least they have something to complain about," She muttered, taking the quaffle with her in a slow loop to give Bijoux some time to recover. "Good shot, Grace, Mualla!" She called to the beaters.

Simone rolled her eyes as Orelie and Nadine bickered on and on. They were being insufferable. "You two are acting like children." She scolded as she few up beside Nadine. "And that's a lot coming from me." she said and flew around towards Orelie, making sure to glare at both of them equally. "What wise captains you guys are turning out to be." she said before quickly faking Orelie out and grabbing the quaffle for herself. She made the rest of the half loop around the pitch before heading towards Bijoux and the goals. Her heart racing for the first time all practice after having to fight with her friends. They were supposed to be better then this.

Aidan regained his balance and his focus, and called back to the beater who was shadowing him "I'm good, no worries!" The hit had hurt enough to throw him off guard but not enough to throw him off his game entirely. He tried his best to be more aware of more things at once, bludgers and beaters and the other seeker and trying to figure out if he needed to pay attention to any of the yelling that was going on. After seeing Penelope take off after the snitch again, he followed a little behind her, and as Penelope had failed to fly upwards with the snitch, he was able to shoot upwards diagonally but still failed to intercept the snitches flight path. This was turning out to be a lot harder than Aidan had anticipated, but he was enjoying the challenge.

Nadine flushed as Simone interfered in their bickering. She had somehow assumed no one was noticing, but she guessed now it had been obvious. "Ugh!" She groaned, frustrated. She needed to get her anger out before she did something stupid, so went to fly a few laps around the pitch to work out her frustration a little.

Penelope was beginning to get a little frustrated. She had done so well in her try-out, and now she was really struggling and beginning to fear that she may have just gotten lucky. Seeing the other seeker having just as much of a hard time as she was though, filled the girl with a sense of determination. As far as she could see, all she had to do was catch the snitch before Aidan, and she would be able to prove to herself and hopefully the rest of the team that her try-out wasn't just a fluke. She took a lap of the pitch, keeping an eye out for the snitch glistening in the sunlight, when it suddenly whooshed right past her left ear. She tried to grab for it but it was much too brief of a moment. She scowled, growing more and more disappointed in her performance.

Orélie frowned when Simone of all people accosted her and Nadine about their behavior. She was one to talk, she thought bitterly, even more put out when Simone wrested the quaffle from her. But she was right, at least partly, they needed to focus on the practice, not on whatever sulk Nadine was in. Orélie felt a small surge of victory when Nadine shot off to go pout on another part of the pitch, taking a breath and following after Simone, even if she wasn't too happy with her.

Simone saw Orelie follow her while Nadine flew off to cool off, thankfully. She knew she should probably pass it to Orelie. After all that was the point of practice but she didn't want to. It was her turn to be bratty and she didn't care about proper practice or whatever. Simone flew faster trying to shake Orelie and swerved to the side and made the shot. It went right through the hoop and she let out a cheer. She turned around to look at her friends only to be reminded she was annoyed with them and frowned.

Mualla continued to shadow Penelope, making sure that nothing would harm her whilst also on the lookout for the other players.

Despite her anger, Nadine kept an eye on the game. She saw that Simone managed to score, and felt a surge of pride for her friend, as well as a surge of annoyance at Orélie. She was hovering nearby, and Nadine suddenly wanted anything but to let her have the quaffle next. So she flattened herself to her broom and flew to the hoops as fast as she could, flashing Orélie a grin as she intercepted the quaffle before she could take it, then zoomed off again.
