Y32 Duelling Match #17

[Monty Pendleton]

The first round of duels had been fraught, but Monty knew from experience that the second round would be even more intense as the winners mounted the stage to face one another. After explaining the rules once more, he let the students begin, keeping a close eye on them.

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.


The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Gwen stood up on the duelling stage when instructed, listening as the professor told her and her Slytherin opponent the rules again. She was glad to have made it to the second round and was hopeful that she had the ability to win again. After all, there were only a couple more rounds to go and it seemed easy enough. As they were told to begin, Gwen acted fast, sending the first spell that came to her mind straight at the girl. "Stupefy." she said, waving her wand.

Diana was eager to show off her dueling skills, and had been a bit annoyed to be skipped over for the first round. Now she was facing someone who had already won a fight, so Diana really had to prove herself. It was some Gryffindor girl who Diana immediately dismissed. She bowed her head, then blocked the girl's spell as she went first. She fired a spell back, deciding on a Fur growing spell.

The Slytherin was quick to block Gwen's spell and this slightly disappointed her, but it was only the start of the duel and hopefully the girl would grow tired later on. She sent a fur growing spell towards Gwen and Gwen was quick to block that too with a simple wave of her wand. She then immediately sent the trip jinx her way.

Diana was disappointed her spell didn't hit the girl. She would have looked hideous with the fur growing all over her, which would have been amusing. Diana was thinking of what spell to use next, when she realized she forgot to anticipate the girl's next move. The spell hit her, and she tripped over nothing, crashing onto her knees on the platform. She cursed, then shot the first spell back that came to her mind. "Stupefy!"

As the girl tripped over nothing, Gwen couldn't help but laugh out loud, proud of herself that she had hit the girl with her spell. She was doing well so far and Gwen was happy for this. She kept alert as it was the Slytherin's turn to retaliate and quickly blocked her spell. With another flick of her wand she sent the knee-reversing hex her way.

Diana glared at the redhead as she laughed at her, she was even more determined to beat her now. She blocked the girl's spell, then quickly got back on her feet. Her knees would probably be bruised, but those were worries for later. "Shut up! Expelliarmus!" She shouted, shooting the spell at the annoying Gryffindor.

Gwen's Slytherin opponent seemed to be getting rather frustrated by the duel and this just made Gwen laugh more. The Gryffindor almost forgot the girl was meant to send another spell her way and she quickly had to block the oncoming spell, taking a sigh of relief as she actually blocked it. She tried to refrain from anymore giggles before sending another spell. "Tarantallegra." she said, waving her wand towards the girl.
