OOCOut of Character:
All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Tristan had won the dueling tournament last year for his year group, and planned to do so again. He was clearly one of the better students in their year, so it made sense he knew the spells well enough to be a good dueler too. His first opponent was Austin Branning, and Tristan smirked at him from across the stage. The boy was a rather annoying person, though mostly unknowingly as his biggest crime was being in the way when Tristan wanted to be alone with Vivian in the dormitory. But their interaction at the start of the year hadn't been forgotten, and Tristan wondered if the boy was perhaps bitter about not being made a prefect instead of him. After the customary bowing, Tristan pointed his wand at the other boy, sending a stinging hex his way. It was his way of showing Austin he was not scared of him in the slightest, taunting him a little. There was no reason to bring out the stronger spells right away, as he was that confident of his win against this opponent.

Austin wasn't the most competitive person but when he found out he had drawn Tristan Collins in the duelling tournament he felt a sudden urge to beat his roommate. Their only significant encounter hadn't been a good one and Austin had strongly disliked the boy ever since. After bowing and getting to their spot the duel began. Tristan was too quick for him and fired a stinging hex which hit him in his non wand arm. Austin cursed the boy and raised his non hexed arm. "Expelliarmus,"

Tristan was glad to see his spell hit and smirked at Austin, though it made him wish he hadn't messed around and immediately tried to stun the guy. But he knew it would end that way regardless, there was no reason to rush. Tristan knew he was smarter than Austin, which meant he must be better at dueling too. He deflected the boy's disarming spell with a quick shield charm, then stepped to the side and shot another spell back. "Stupefy." He said calmly, meeting the boy's eyes for a moment as the spell went in his direction. He wasn't expecting his win to be too easy, so he prepared himself to put up another shield charm if needed.

Something about the mere presence of Tristan bothered Austin but he needed to stay focused if he wanted to beat him. He cast a shielding charm to block his stunning spell and cast his own Bat-bogey hex.

Tristan sighed when he noticed Austin was blocking his spell, and prepared himself to do the same to Austin's next attempt. He blocked the Bat-bogey hex with a shield charm, then decided to try a more advanced spell he had been reading up on. Hopefully, it would work if he managed to hit the boy. It would be quite embarrassing to hit and have his spell fade. "Obscuro." He cast, figuring he would be an easy target with a blocked vision. It would make it impossible for the other boy to aim, guaranteeing an easy win for Tristan.

Tristan was starting to get a little impatient with Austin, he wasn't nearly as easy an opponent as he had expected, though the boy was still confident of is impending victory. He blocked the boy's spell with a quick shield charm, then decided to simply try to knock him out. "Stupefy."

Austin cast a shielding charm to block the stunning spell. Tristan had clearly given up trying to be clever and was just going for something to get the job done. "Rictusempra,"

Tristan's mind was busy trying to think of spells that might surprise Austin, though he was starting to feel like he just needed to keep sending spells his way until the other boy grew tired. He blocked the boy's spell, rolling his eyes a little at it. Was he trying to humiliate Tristan? In return, he decided to try silencing Austin to make it impossible for him to cast spells. "Silencio." He cast.
